What do you think his power is? It has to be something cool and distinctive, right? Maybe some kind of time travel?
Hunter x Hunter
Anyone else think the 1999 anime captured the macabre atmosphere of the series better?
Similar to Yusuke's Spirit Gun, but instead Ging's stank shifts over to his finger and builds up into a ball that shoots directly into the target's nostrils.
He likes finding new things, so it's probably an exploration/search ability.
If you're not going to make a relevant post then don't post at all.
I honestly think his Hatsu is something that let's him hide his presence. The rest of his skill is just his general mastery of aura manipulation and his ability to adapt himself to other types of attacks.
At least wait a bit before bringing this shit up again.
Wow! Yes! An reinforced stench, like the armor-piercing one in that Katsuhiro Otomo short, could be truly terrifying. With a condition like "the user must never bathe," powering it up x99, it could be the perfect ability for Ging.
Correct me if I am wrong, but im pretty sure his ability is to copy anybody elses after having seen it used once or twice or something like that.
No wonder Ging looks like such a disgusting turd compared to his picture in the first chapter.
isn't that just mastering zetsu?
1999 is tryhard wannabe seinen bullshit, which is weird. YYH was kept as lighthearted as it was in the manga, but they decided to completely change HxH.
probably the same as gon.
absolute nen control.
Nah, he said that was just a talent.
I don't know about Ging, but I bet Paris has an extremely annoying power like "can't be hurt, with the condition he can't hurt anyone either."
No something more like how his image is garbled in the photo Gon sends to his aunt. An ability that makes it hard to track him or something like that.
His ability? Talking. Definitely. Probably akin to Talk no Jutsu. Because Togashi just LOVES to drop in huge pieces of texts.
It'll take at least one chapter to explain his ability.
I'd say Hisoka enjoys the struggle of himself way more than the struggle of others however. He made Gon, Kastro, Togari and Chrollo struggle to become stronger; but he did/will equally discard them all after he's eaten them.
Buttmad ADHD kiddie in sight.
When are we getting back to boat antics?
Probably next volume
Why bother dumping huge texts after a two year break? And explaining every fucking aspects of your ability to the opponent?
I just assumed from his personality he would be an enhancer with insane stats.
There's no chapter this week, is there?
Was it ever explained how Ging and co managed to make Greed Island and all the OP items in there ?
I mean the game had items to make you younger, heal any injury as well as litteral admin powers, but then they decided to just make an MMO out of it.
We already got a chapter this week
It's only been three fucking chapters, that's not excessive for set up and clearly the plot and power mechanics aren't so simple that they can go unexplained.
Anyway, Chrollo mentioned that nen users conceal their powers to get an advantage, so it's obvious he's got some reason to talk if he's contradicting himself. It might be a restriction for an ability, a distraction or even lies, etc. The first two have been used in HxH before.
Wait, was golden week last week or this week?
No unique ability, just good at figuring things out and Nen control.
Or at least that's my guess. his character doesn't strike me as the type to have some super snowflake power, more a master of the basics kind of thing where he can spank your ass with simple techniques.
You say that now, but in five years when they finally get on the boat and set off you'll just start asking when we're getting off the boat.
Looks like we've got ourselves an optimist here.
The problem with that is he says this to Pariston in c.347: "Do it yourself next time. If you want to see my ability so badly."
I guess he could be bullshitting but it suggests he really does have some kind of specific power other than hitting things.
I feel like fleshing out the Zodiacs should have been given higher priority.
Enhanced semen to give him the power to give birth to a person strong enough to kill meruem.
Maybe he can change his sex at will. Becoming cute and feminine to disguise himself and trick straight bros into screwing him.
Their personalities were established. Cheadle and the Stom have the most depth so far but the rest will get their time too.
You forgot about the spy? This is a long arc. We will be back to Zodiacs in some chapters. After this Tower match break (seemingly unrelated to the boat) we will be back to Princes, the association will take a back seat, but they will still be involved. Once that is done for they will be at the center again alongside Ging and Pariston groups.
How old is Feitan?
We know that Machi is 24 and Chrollo is 26.
where did we learn machi's age? Only Chrollo's age is in the databook.
Seems like Togashi is sick again. New hiatus soon?
My suffering due to my hip pains was something that happened after I recovered a bit after staying at the hospital.
Poor Togashi and poor us
sounds like he's just recounting his hiatus experiences.
Maybe this is why Ging's so insistent on giving away his money.
As long as Chrollo vs Hisoka ends before the next hiatus i'll be satisfied
It won't. Search your feelings, you know it be true.
Nah, I just think Ging has more money than he knows what to do with, thus he uses it his wealth to get things that he desires. I also don't think money holds a lot of power over Ging, meaning he probably could careless if he was rich or poor. He prefers to explore and discover new things in the world, he even fucking talked about wanting to go into space and explore new planets and shit.
One of my favorite DC pages, Ging is a great character.
He is truly the coolest HxH man.
Well while I'm not too sure what ging's power is, i do know that hiaoka's nen allows his aura to manifest the properties of both rubber and gum.
BS, That'd be overpowered as hell. Source ASAP
Who is the coolest HxH woman?
shitsoka and this garbage meme will be dead by next week
biscuit = bae
Guys I'm starting to get scared.
I think Leorio might die in Hunter x Hunter.
Don't worry, Togashi will die before that.
So, are Shalnark and Kortopi getting back their ability after Chrollo kills Hisoke?
Can he even give the stolen ability back?
Also, what kind of ability is that bookmark if the user doesnt have the Bandit's book?
He literally explained the bookmark was his own ability he came up with and didn't steal you fucking shit
What are the best translations for the manga
Are they all by one big group or publisher or is it split up between different ones for different arcs/sagas
Chrollo is OP as fuck, it's ridiculous. How can he possibly have the amount of nen to keep 3 abilities going. He's not Meruem, Netero, or one of the royal guard.
He hasn't done a whole lot yet, but yeah if he runs around the arena making copies and puppets out of every other chucklefuck he comes across, then I'd be surprised if he didn't express legitimate fatigue.
has used skill hunter, bookmark, shalnark's ability, kortopi's ability, the sun and moon ability, the puppet ability and the palm arrows ability.
has dodged hisoka.
Hasn't done a whole lot?
Ging's nen ability is called Absolute Worst Dad
Why is Killua such an edgy little faggot?
His nen gets stronger proportionally to the amount he neglects his son?
Simple: only the winner could use any of the items outside of GI. That's the condition they set.
Pakunoda killed herself to let her comrades know that Chrollo was safe. That's pretty cool for her, even if she does look like Barbara Streisand.
the macabre atmosphere of the series better
for the most part it is very lighthearted though
Cuckroro will die and there is nothing you can do about it, faggot.
Going back to Hisoka and Chrollo, what do you guys think is their raison d'être in the manga?
Togashi didn't really elaborate that much on Hisoka, I think that the most we know about him is how much effort he puts into his looks considering how different he looks normally.
And considering his own power's name as well as his lust for Gon and Killua if seems to me that he is very Peter Pan-like, refusing adulthood
For Chrollo if I'm not mistaken we still don't know what is the will of the Spider, will that preponderate his own existence as he stated. So his existence is not as important I would say.
Leorio won't die, he's in safety with the medical team and he's not so stupid as to obliviously put himself in obvious danger
he's the character who says he's gonna be a doctor and he WILL be a doctor and lead a normal, non-hunter life
gon and kurapika on the other hand will surely die at some point kurapika has to die because of his crusade against the spiders and gon has to die just so killua can suffer more
Hisocucks with their delusions again.
her nose was made of friendship
no it's based on the distance between them, which is why Leorio managed to hit him square in the face back then
he lied about letting himself get hit
he also wants to go to DC because it's the furthest away from gon
He doesn't have a crusade against the Spiders. Read the manga.
it seems togashi likes characters that stir up shit just for the giggles or because they're so strong that they get bored easily
hisoka is one of them, as are ging and pariston
Are you implying he never created an ability for himself? If so, that's stupid and makes no sense.
oh piss off
When are we going to see Kurapika cry?
I bet he doesnt even know yet what kind of nen user he is
If we follow Hisoka's personality Trst for Nen, wouldn't Ging be a Transmuter(Fickle/Dishonest) or a Specialist(Independent/Leader)?
Has Viz improved that much over the years? They were an utter joke not that long ago.
Their translations are the strongest even from the beginning?
He should be an emitter, because he's short-tempered. He's pretty honest and not a leader at all.
Are you retarded?
99 yorkshin is AOTC.
Why don't you put you trip back on so i can filter you.
I feel sorry that you are so paranoid.
I say transmuter. He is manipulative and dishonest, he's just not chaotic/evil like Hisoka. Before Ging was formally introduced in the story we were led to believe he was a grown up version of Gon but Togashi threw us a curved ball.
he gets one new random power each time he uses nen, so each time he has to figure out what it is and how to use it
Daily reminder Mizaistom is another mole in the zodiacs and Kurapika was dumb enough to explain his lie detector ability to him before inspecting everyone.
Killua is cute!
I don't remember, did pika use his lie detector on mizaistom?
if not you might be onto something here
Pika is always one step ahead.
He was several steps ahead of his village when everybody had their eyes gouged out.
No, that's not his ability - he's just fucking intelligent and versed in nen that he can do that after watching others.
Nah that's not a hatsu in itself, just an extensive general understanding of how nen functions which allows him to analyze abilities he gets a feel of from up close.
It's going to be something interesting for sure.
All his interactions so far appear to be leading in to that.
The business with the election, the business with Leorio's hatsu - these had 'nothing' to do with his own hatsu, but may be as well if you get me.
implying he missed my heart
'99's Kurapika vs Ryodan was miles better, especially the Uvogin fight.
He had the wool pulled over his eyes completely with the bodyguard selection process
Now that you mention it, we never have seen him cry. Weird.
crack theory: ging's power has something to do with whale island and possibly the deaths of his parents. i think he's had nen since before he left for the hunter exam, and acquired it somewhere on the island. it may have some connection to the dark continent. mysterious creatures, hidden ruins/catacombs, and strange artifacts are all possibilities.
gon might discover these and regain his nen/an objective thanks to them. it'd give him SOMETHING plot relevant to do while there. i have no idea what exactly he'd find, but it's something significant.
the entirety of the York Shin arc was done better in 99
key example being the scene where Gon and Killua tail Machi and Nobunaga
The tension and general noire aesthetic is played up far better
The uvogin fight was one of the things worse actually, they went full retard with the over dramatization. Kurapika praying before fight, moon crying blood etc.
