Make サクラちゃん proud...
Formally proposing that we rename DJT to:
Daisuki Japanese Thread
There's a lot of bitterness, there's a lot of anger out there. We all have to work hard to heal those wounds.
How anyone can even fathom such a thing without their internal cancer alert exploding is beyond me.
Why is this hosted on an /r/visualnovels discord?
I just wanted to let you guys know that thanks to you I feel like even a fucking obnoxious retard waste of space and oxygen like me can learn Japanese to at least elementary level.
Thanks djt. You're one of the reasons I haven't killed myself yet.
It already has a sizable community so it isn't dead city.
Even though everyone here is an obnoxious fucking asshole, we're all in this together, right?
What a gay shithole.
We all wanted to hear that. Such an informative and insightful post. Please post more!
Which kanji should I be using for "noon" ?
午 for time and 昼 for lunch related activities?
Are you the same guy that responds this way to every user who posts something either tangential or uses a reaction image you don't like?
We all wanted to hear that. Such an informative and insightful post. Please post more!
We all wanted to hear that. Such an informative and insightful post. Please post more!
I am a guy that responds to useless/blog posts with something like this "Thanks for the post, we all needed your opinion. Please post more!"
What I did to learn today: 2 anime, 1 visual novel, 1 light novel and 400 anki cards.
1 visual novel, 1 light novel
Either he's lying or he's reading some nukige shit.
How the heck does Axanaels saves work? I thought it autosaves, and it did the first time, but now that I opened the game it brought me to this screen where it wants me to pick some character (?) or something. How do I continue the save or what to click? Can't texthook this shit
just download hanahira and stay safe
no need to risk your life in the jungle
Subarashi neko and kawai onna neko
why do we need this?
Text itself is easy, just the options and choices make my head hurt
It's written right there oh wait I forgot you can't read without a texthooker
What are you guys reading?
I've been working on 母母母, lot of words I don't know but the grammar isn't too bad.
It helps with my autism that's all :)
And what exactly makes you think we give a shit?
but if it was then why are you so lost in the face of normal game functions
oh thats めっちゃドップブロ im reading おならガールフレンド and ちんこ彼女 myself
I'm not user there is no a in there only darkness in my heart
Because I haven't learned those words yet and it's my first? Pretty simple thought process dude.
Why the fuck did you post this here you piece of shit? Can't you just look up the words and suppress your need to blog about everything you do?
What's a good dictionary for Android?
I think you need to go outside and take a walk, Jimmy.
I'll be honest user. Just use a computer or that app where you can take pic of kanji and it'll search it up for you because there aren't a lot of good ones on the google app store
I'll be sure to write a post about it when I do. I'll ask why can't I recognize the weird symbols all around me while carrying a dictionary in my hand
p.s my name is David like in the bible
replace dictionary with flashcards and i would have 濡れちゃった down there
クール猫 which Janimation does he symbolize? You can't post non-anime pictures in this thread just letting you know
Sadly I often find myself with no pc or internet. I'd use imiwa on my iPad, but it's not exactly easy to use it while reading.
Get the fuck out of here.
Why? Shit is great for mobage and manga
So I just started RTK after going through a sizeable chunk of hiragana and katakana vocab. What is a suitable pace to go through it for someone that has an entire summer of nothing else to do?
oh its from チラックスネコモノガタリ第２期
it may not look like japamination but it is
are you the sakura autist?
If you don't use arch or gentoo gtfo
Any way to look up multiple kanji at once without having to draw them in google?
have you tried your local bookstore? I have like 3 different books. Also they are more trustworthy although a bit less eficient
I don't know who that is, maybe you can tell me his real name I'll look it up in my phone contacts.
Got a link m8?
its a meme bro
Yes, create a personal reality where you know every single kanji then impose it upon this world pretty easy.
he can just show you his trading card of him he has the holographic
Used to have Arch on my laptop, now running kubuntu
Meme isn't a name but okay, you are a weird guy...
I don't play those games I just
Two-three months like the introduction recommends.
why not paper dictionary? I mean there is no guarantee that the internet is trustworthy and are cheap.
a sizeable chunk
How many words does that mean?
entire summer of nothing else to do
If you're spending all day on it, move through it quickly. Do vocabulary and grammar study at the same time as RTK so you can get reading as soon as possible.
Uninstall it immediately or don't ever mention that you use it. I can't handle this.
can someone tell me what this guy is saying loopthetube.com
I'll go back to Arch then, is it ok?
I am... Kecho
installing spyware on your pc
Yeah... No thanks
Sure... But make it quick or otherwise your brain is going to become a ubuntu slave.
whats wrong with ubuntu? Isn't that OS that saves you from being censored?
Roughly 300 each. Learned slowly in my free time. I wanted to wait till I had the summer to begin Kanji memorisation and going beyond basic grammar.
No it's a conspiracy to make you think that way. Ubuntu is controlled by Microsoft. If you want to disconnect yourself from the omnipresent spynet use arch or gentoo.
disconnect yourself from this thread fuck head
It's aimed at people who want the Windows experience.
I cannot disconnect myself from myself that's a logical contradiction
When can we learn Japanese again?
Less than a month. You can do it in two weeks.
This seems to do the job, thanks!
Does anyone know what the でれんとした part of this means? Is it something to do with でる? If so can someone let me know why it's in this form?
This is just a shitposting thread, everything you could possibly want or need is already in the guide.
Meet me at 15:00 I'm the guy in the grey tee in Japan you fill find me there we can watch some eroge together if you want (ﾟ∀ﾟ)
I think it means he came out but failed.
he burned his shit
My brother found out I was playing an eroge today. What should I do?
I think it means lazily or something. Japanese is crazy
He killed the hitsuji
play it with him and diddle each other or w/e
What the fuck?
You have no choice, better mindbreak him so he doesn't reveal your secret.
brothers jerk each other off all the time dude its pretty normal in any healthy family
I don't get this word mindbreak
No it isn't. We are a normal family.
It means sexually torment him until his mind is short-circuited by pleasure and he can no longer live without your cock.
no you dont get it he was saying stroke order in regards to brothers jerking each other off it was possibly.. a masterstroke
regardless i saw it and appreciated it
i can't find any raw manga, and i don't wanna pay 10 bucks for yotsuba, where can i find it fo FWEEEEEEE??
theres a bunch on nyaa, which one are you looking for?
You guys are sick! I'm leaving!
what website is nyaa? Also something beginner friendly, also is there some kind of application on a computer so that i can search up the kanji?
Don't read crappy manga and you won't have this problem.
i am pretty sick (かっけえという意味で) thanks for noticing
i have to torrent them ;_;
Buy the manga if you like it so much. Support the japs who draw it I'm sure you want to be one of them some day to you can at least help them a little.
what website is nyaa?
why would i want to be one? I am just learning so I can get bitches and make moneyi can do that too
Brothers don't have sex that's just not normal.
why would i want to be one?
Idk maybe because you watch anime and manga?
so I can get bitches
You would have better luck just by dropping the anime usage. That would help you a lot more than learning Japanese.
I presume you are the イケ面 in the middle?
What site does /Djt/ use to read/ download manga raws?
Nvm I just read the posts above
Is djt a single person now?
yes im the ikeman with the マジでフレッシュ white tshirt
how do i reset my progress on anki? i fucked up
You should stop reading Sup Forums and get back to studying.
Good. Now delete anki and you can begin the process of learning Japanese.
You should stop サッキング my ちんこ and get back to reading manga
anyone else study better after getting really mad? when i got mad while learning hira and kana i would punch the shit out of my dresser until i couldn't feel my hand and after that i felt my retention went up and was able to remember stroke more easily
Congratulations, this is the shittiest post in this entire shitty thread.
thanks, i'd like to thank my mom, dad, you, and everyone else in this thread for my resounding success
You should be thanking your mom for not deciding to abort her mentally disabled baby.
Yeah I did that too when learning gana but the sad this is I killed my dog in the process I just watched anime and got really fucking mad
You're such a narcissistic manchild.
Define narcissistic and manchild
I learned kana what next i heard hanzi but i do not want to learn hanzi should i learn romanzi now?
having an undue fascination with oneself; vain.
noun, plural men-children.
a male child; boy; son.
Now explain in detail why I am both of those things
i didnt call you narcissistic or a man child i just defined them for you
Thanks are you a living dictionary
Is there a way to make anki stop giving me new cards for a while aside from changing the actual deck settings? I haven't done my reps in a long time so I want to review a bit before getting new ones.
Delete anki. Why do you need a placebo?
Set new cards to 0 then turn it back again when you're done
Yeah just figured it out.
I did it, friends. After all this time I've finally settled down and got a good study regime. I've learned the N5 and N4 kanji in about a month and I'm reviewing Tae Kim's grammar after going through it once diligently.
I started learning Japanese in high school about 8 years ago, but I kept falling and couldn't pick myself back up. Learn from me, you have to get back up! All that progress shouldn't go to waste!
I think I can learn Japanese before the decade anniversary of when I started, which would make me really happy since I've already spent so much time on it. I just got really excited when I realized I was doing it and I wanted to make this post. I already have some language buddies, and although they're all Chinese it should help with kanji at least. I'm still looking for Japanese friends, obviously.
Cool, why did you post this? And we are not friends.
Well done, lad. Keep it up.
He's just one of those retards who feels like they've achieved something after doing basic shit. When they reach something difficult, they'll probably give up.
He doesn't know the story of 8 Years-chan.
Keep it up, lad.
is whatever サクラちゃん appears in good, i'd thought id finished with most cell drawn stuff
Oh, it's just a genuine retard instead? That's even worse.
skip forward to 2 minutes 50 seconds
Huh? Can't read this
I think my 血んぽ is dying from overマス
If you can read this without a dictionary congratulations you are
still a beginner
is there any way to add new cards in anki?
haha nice "beginner" shaming dude get em tiger
Yes, you go to Anki and hit F1.
how do I open anki?
how do i install anki without an admin account?
i install it now i need to open it an make card
how did you get it to install?
i used website anki.com download to pc and run installer
it keeps telling me i need an admin password......
sorry i do not have admin password...
i know you idiot im asking how to install it without an admin password but you obviously cant help me fuck off
what?! why angry? please do not... i want to open anki
Not watching this
Are you actually having fun with such low level shitposting?
/heads back under the stairs
and far more nuanced choice in, er "basic vocab"
Core 6k wins all awards for contentious definition of "basic vocab". A Frequency Dictionary of Japanese is much better than the iKnow data.
which a beginner is going to have a far rougher time working through in comparison to the Core2k/6k/10k decks which have been optimised in kanji groups which allow for easier passive picking up of readings
For absolute beginners all this does is make things harder. Flashcards are shit at teaching multiple things at once. Not only does kanji order optimization take away the ability to quit the deck early and still have the most common X words of japanese, it also increases the load on how much the user needs to learn. The first 2k of nukemarine's 2k is going to much harder than the first 2k in A Frequency Dictionary of Japanese. The only place the kanji barrage of nukemarine's ordering comes in handy is when you're trying to relearn kanji through exposure.
anonymous modified or Nayr's "core 5000" deck
user core 5k is not based on nayr's deck at all.
though I might recommend it for anons who have a base knowledge of the language but have let their studies lapse for a fair while.
That's funny, I would say literally the opposite. It's like your standards are backwards.
What do you think?
Not even going to read this
don't forget to take a yearly dose of anime with you because this war is gonna last long
No, Core 6k is perfect. Each and every word in there, with the exception of 日ソ is useful in common Japanese. The ordering is best for learning the maximum amount without ever introducing too many new kanji at once, which makes life much easier. Everyone should do it.
How many languages do I need to learn before I am an advanced anki user
Cool meme usage.
I saved this picture where do I send the money for it?
is there any way to make a deck in anki?
How tall are you, /djt/?
Do you chase azn women because you can actually compete with their men?
Why are you asking a thread how tall it is? That doesn't make any fucking sense. Also djt isn't a separate board so there is no need to include "//" you fucking moron.
After you answer my logical questions and remake your post.
Can someone check what am I getting wrong here?
It's an original after all, what's wrong with doing the same as always?
When I'm told that, I get like "hmm".
Just in case, for commerce you can't do what you can't. (?)
I have some doubts in the 2nd sentence, but I can't make much sense of the 3rd sentence. Am I getting something wrong here? If yes, what is it?
It's so wrong I can't even be bothered to correct it.
Thank you for the input.
Yes, everything is in fact correct. Just change the second one to When he tells me I get like hmmm
You don't have any understanding of the scientific method, as far as I know manlet isn't a numerical value. Waiting 5 mins for you to remake your post if you want a legitimate answer.
you stuff has major problems i only read the first line cause im about to go on break but reexamine 何時も描いてるものと何が違うの？ and talk it out with the other fine helpers on djt
Too short to go for tall American women
It's okay, /djt/.
I am an understanding man.
i'll assume theres some other way to say this in which 々 actually repeats something
I don't really understand what いてくれる.
Is it いる + 来る？
Jisho didn't help and I'm an idiot.
I see, just a fake scientist. Have fun learning meme pictures in anki.
The くれる is to emphasize that being with them is something that is benefiting the speaker
一緒にいてくれる is a set phrase meaning "to get through hardship together"
Not that it's important or anything but is that a man and woman crossdressing?
I'm pretty sure that it's just a really tall and ugly black woman, and a short aryan man.
He shows up a couple of times.
These models actually aren't gender binary.
I think I just
Ah, that sort of nuance is always lost on me. Thanks.
Also interesting phrase to remember, appreciate it.
Get the fuck out of here with your thanks.
I don't think they're the same person. Just look at the eyes and eyebrows.
I guess not.
My タマキン have ruptured.
i dont look into mens eyes sorry...
learn new word
it's fucking N5 level
the first word under it describes Anki learners to a fault
I-I'm sorry, w-would you rather me stutter like /-/tv/-kun?
I don't know who that fucking is but you better not stutter around here my people are watching you
You have to make an important choice right now - you learn vocab or you learn cards in anki.
Okay, another attempt:
Since it's an original after all, what is wrong with drawing always?
When I'm told that, I get like "hmm".
This one is... tough. How is it that した can be before the つもり?
If it means "I intend to", and the other is "already done" is seems a bit (hugely) conflicting to me.
Googling also gives me that it can mean "I believed", so I'd try this with that meaning:
"Pretty much, I thought I had done something I couldn't in the business."
However, the three sentences doesn't make sense to me, I can't get what the guy is talking about haha
(it's an author's commentary about his work)
Any help please?
Any help please?
The third one should be "He had done" instead of "I had done"
I actually wanted to but now that you've posted this picture I have to reconsider. Try to control your meme urges next time. Good luck.
Not being able to look people in the eyes shows that you feel inferior and are submitting to their dominance. But it's okay I don't judge.
I'm the one who asked for help, but I'm not the guy who posted that pic...
Literally this entire thread is a few autists posting nonsense and mods don't give a shit, you're not going to get any answers.
I don't believe you. Sorry. Just don't use memes next time and I will try to help you.
You are the sakura autist.
the great boogerman hunt 2k16 つづく
What does 猫 mean here?
Yeah I'm slowly realizing that... it's that there were a few occasions (2 I guess) were I posted some questions and people really helped me.
It's been quite a while though, but I think I didn't get any help for my last 4~5 questions, and it seems every time the troll guy multiplies.
Today though it seems besides the troll, the autism is also getting higher.
This was the only place where I could ask some question and get help quick with people who seem to know what they're doing, but I'll look elsewhere.
Thanks for being sensible.
We don't really care about your feelings.
people who seem to know what they're doing
Did you think this through before posting?
we dont really care about you not caring about their feelings
Real talk though, how do you learn vocab without Anki? Brute forcing 20 new words a day is totally inefficient and would probably take two hours to nail down without Anki (and its placebo effect letting me associate words with unrelated pictures and definitions I can never recall outside of Anki would totally be lost)
The answers I got way before when this wasn't this shit were actually accurate and helpful (helping me understand what I was doing wrong).
That's why I kept coming back.
I wanted to give a serious reply but then I saw this word. Just do the placebo method like most people here.
And why do you think anyone gives a fuck about why you keep coming back? I suggest you change your attitude when talking to superiors.

ｗｗ Had a good 笑い
I mean, I was shitting on Anki too, and will continue to shit on it until I finish the 6k words just so I can stubbornly say it's shit with authority.
There's apparently been studies that show some value with associating new vocab with pictures, even if they're only tangentially related, but I swear I'm building the wrong associations from this method.
Anyways, fuck you.
I need to eat the whole bowl of shit to say that it's shit
lol have fun eating shit and learning pictures. I'll do some real learning in the meantime
Comics...................... AREN'T reality!!! ?
That is true...
I can't read katana yet
Anki's decent for building the basis when you're completely devoid of any vocabulary. Then, you start to encounter diminishing returns and realize that it's a lot better to keep reading and learn words and how they're specifically used there. Anki doesn't let you see these words in practice enough with its never-changing example sentences and there's clearly multiple ways a word can be used in most situations.
tl;dr just learn some basic vocabulary and start reading a lot while googling new words you encounter
This should be fucking obvious to anyone with a brain. Do animefags really don't understand this?
But I want a placebo for lerning please can I just use anki and learn the vocab?
That's a bit of an over exaggeration don't you think?
I bet just half a bowl would do the trick.
there's clearly multiple ways a word can be used in most situations.
Yeah, I'm losing it with synonyms after 2500-3000 cards (productionfag here, hence the unfortunate association of words with images).
Feel like it's almost better to cut down to ten words and just look at sentences in Jisho to see context/associated words. There's probably more to learn that way, but it feels slower.
Half a bowl of anime? That's like 500kg of kuzo
I dunno dude and I haven't followed the conversation but I read like 5 VNs before starting anki and learned pretty quickly through that period. I did use something similar to anki before that though (readthekanji) but didn't realyl use it for SRS and really just brute forced my way through a shitload of vocabulary without learning it particularly well.
Basically, if you read like 3 hours a day then for a lot of the words you might have added to anki, you are seeing them much more frequently in reading than you would in anki. When that is the case, anki really does nothing. It's when you get to the level where new words may not pop up again for another couple weeks that anki really becomes important.
vocab production cards
Haha having a good time learning English definitions?
This スレ is しｔ
It doesn't seem too obvious to the people in this thread who have 20k words in their decks. People are autistic enough to care about the number of words they know over what they can actually read. I'll choose the latter, thanks.
Just google X + Yの違い and read the Japanese explanation if you want to understand the distinction.
It's okay user, you aren't a waste of space at all. あなたはえらいですよ！
forcing myself to quickly associate my native language with a foreign language
somehow worse than learning a foreign language and guessing the meaning in English for years until I am somehow able to think in Japanese
You're arguing for running a marathon when most people are still learning to jog, man.
If you need production cards to do that you have something very wrong with your brain
いいえ、 マンコ をたべます。
Can I play Youkai Watch if I know the core 3k? I really want to play 3 when it comes out in July. If not, how much should I know before trying?
Well, do you think you can play anything if you know 0 words?
Okay guys, time to show how much vocabulary you know (or don't know, in my case).
This image is so くそ. Please stop posting it. The text in this kind of ebin mene is supposed to be an organic part of the original media, not something you wrote on yourself.
lol and how much time did it take to "learn" that amount of words?
I don't count them myself as I don't use various placebo devices but I can read Japanese classics with ease
I can't contact her right now now but the next time I see her I will be sure to pass your message.
I watched a Youkai Watch (1&2) 実況 series and the Japanese is honestly some of the easiest I have ever seen in any media, extremely clear and easy to follow. If you only know 3000 words you will still have to check the dictionary constantly though.
Also djt isn't a separate board
But you're wrong.
But he said he did 3000 words in anki. I don't think he said he knows 3000 words.
Yeah seems like you were right see you on the other side!
so lets talk. without kanji.
oh my god I can't stop laughing
i dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I'm having difficulty reading what this second character is.
i've tried looking it up by what i think are the radicals, but i'm getting nowhere.
cool reddit meme. upvoted and gave 金
cho warai bakusho
This isn't. fucking draw it in google you lazy fucker if you can't handwrite just gtfo.
i have drawn it in google and it isn't giving me anything like it.
this thread has a lot of "trolls" so be careful about who you trust but if you want a no bs answer im pretty sure the kanji is 糞
Then use your brain and try to decode the lines you see it's not that hard just strain your brain a little bit
I am the 神の命 of DJT starting from this moment.
Stop, this is bringing up bad memories.
Could you please be considerate of the fact that actual prematurely balding people are browsing this website and may be hurt by this kind of posting?
see woman with a black
tell friend about it in 日本語
feel like they understood because they are Spanish speaking
Does this happen to anyone else? I feel like people that speak other languages secretly understand what I'm saying.
Yeah man this happens all the time when I forget to take my meds sometimes I even think they can hear my thoughts crazy shit huh?
kono sureddo wa kso degozaimasu ww
fuckin sansei buro
seriously, how does anyone watch this what the fuck?
Just letting everyone know that I've pretty much migrated to the /int/ thread. I still won't answer stupid questions but I can answer decent questions there and other people will be glad to take over the stupid question duties.
Why did you feel the need to post this?
Because as far as I'm one of the only people who gives proper answers to questions so now there will be none.
how do add deck to ankI?
i post in the int thread also so looking forward to having you dude
you wont be able to tell who i am though because im not taking up a bunch of space in it mainly due to it not needing my help as much as djt does
you really dont get it do you
Still doesn't answer the question. You could just leave without making a post. Nobody here will miss you or try to suck your dick in exchange for help.
I've migrted to the koohi forums for serious posting
Leave me a (Thanks) if you like my posts ;)
No I'm a 汚いJP犬
I think the fact that only shitposters giving incorrect information are left is useful to know for the people left in this thread who aren't part of the shitposting group. Anyway see ya you'll know where ill be
You don't live in Place where multiple languages are common.
I do I actually live in a secret military base we have a lot of mercenaries here from all over the world
WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE MODS THIS IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS
Whatever, I'm out. I'll check back in a few weeks.
What does: 今日も2ゲット出来なかった mean?
Managed to knock out Anki before knocking out, ureshii~
i dont ゲット it
Ah, so it means "Today I didn't even get dubs"?
Also, nice dubs.
the only gets in life that matter are the ones in you get in your heart
More like 'another day and no dubs', as it is a futaba meme.
Also, nice dubs.
Feels good man, dub dubs while explaining a get meme. Check that privileged.
haha yeah its really cool dude 乙
おおお ureshii i did some useless placebo
Nice ミーム it even moves nice ジョッ部
So how do they congratulate each other on dubs?
no its really helping i talked to a japanese person today and they actually let me say a couple words before they told me to just speak english
before theyd stop me at こんいちわ
They do the ancient Japanese ritual of クンクン the ケツの穴
Just like we do: with autism.
cool! you are very smart surely the anime pic also helped you a lot I can see the japanese in your soul very good. Anki is not a placebo. Repeat this 5 times before going to bed
please no bully
Stop pretending to be me
i heard if you say anki 3 times in front of the mirror on a full moon dekinai tan pops out of the mirror and bonks you to death with her かばん lmao
Fuck you with and your weak beta anime attitude.
I bet you can also summon what's known as an あんきfu using this method
the purest disease there is
How do I induce 下痢 in a short time? I need it for 勉強 purposes
Is there any way to easily add example sentences to your mined deck?
Rikaisama does have that functionality.
No i think you cant even do that in anki
I noticed it was possible to add a sentence field with the realtime import, but where does it get sentences from?
It searches google and tries to add sentences with appropriate context
Hey easy there with all those kanji my brain might overload rofl
What? So it just grabs a random sentence off google?
I assume there's no translation? Seems pretty useless.
Not random. It tries to find the sentence with the best context. I would say it works about 40-60% of the time.
Yay I did 4 hours of anki today! I learned so much vocabs 20 new words
安楽死 yourself imo
Your penis size
Your Japanese proficiency
Let's see if there's any correlation.
But proficiency is related to time spent studying, if someone started only a month ago like me it doesn't mean they have a small penis...
10 centimetres or so
How do you store your japanese music, DJT?
I'm not a fucking retard so i dont
I can't really find Japanese music outside of anime I really like. I really like Morning Musumes Kashimashi Monogatari but don't like their other songs, also really like Zones Secret Base but don't like their other songs. Scandals Shoujo S is pretty damn cool too but their other songs are just okay.
still using flac
I use tta but I'm not about to transcode everything I download just to switch.
In one big black folder. Some albums are in their own folders cause I'm too lazy to clean them up.
On like, my computer. I stream it from my computer to wherever I go using Subsonic.
lets see if i can trigger you
inconsistent tags all in romanji
file names left as is from yt conversion
just 1 giant folder of mp3 files all ripped from yt videos
listen in windows media player
Maybe if you did this on /g/
ill do you right here baby assume the position
I just have a JPopSuki folder sorted by artist names. I just dump the albums into their respective artist's folder. Unfortunately I can't change the the tags since I have to keep seeding the files, which sucks because a lot of stuff on JPopSuki is poorly tagged.
private trackers for foreign media
what's even the point
Because it's hard to find that stuff on public trackers?
Not to mention, rips on private trackers are almost always better quality than what you can find on public trackers.
13 folders inside it with 400 songs in them
Also 400 songs straight in the folder main folder
Only 500 of these are in my playlist
I mainly listen to r/a/dio
Where do you look cuz I can find lossless for 8/9 albums that I try to find
The only ones that are impossible to find are ones that were only ripped once or were never pirated in the first place
I just use search engines and chink sites.
TPB and KAT, though both are a pain in the ass to use because I have to access them through tor thanks to Call Me Dave.
jps is pretty bad tho because theres tons of transcodes and they even let people upload disgusting corean shit
no i wont tell you where to steal music but nowadays you can practically find anything that isnt obscure and or super dated with just effective use of google anyway
Do you even know about nyaa and rutracker?
RuTracker enforces ratio now so it may as well be a private tracker, and nyaa seems to be useless for anything other than anime OSTs.
RuTracker enforces ratio now
I can download rutracker torrents anonymously with literally no problem.
nyaa seems to be useless for anything other than anime OSTs
That may be true but nyaa releasers generally have a presence on perfect dark and you can connect the dots to find their bulk releases.
I can download rutracker torrents anonymously with literally no problem.
What? How? You need an account for the download links to even show up.
Works here gam
no you dont
Holy shit this has become a cancer shithole since the last time I've been here, let's check back after summer again.
lets not and say we did
This has always been a cancer shithole.
What the fuck, when did they change this? It used to require an account, then at some point not too long ago they started enforcing a ratio limit which you got banned for falling below.
I downloaded a western indie album from rutracker like five years ago and never touched it until recently when I wanted axanael
Is there any way to disable the stats on anki?
start > appwiz.cpl > click anki > uninstall
get exact same JCAT score as two months ago
Guess I should have done my reps
What are the little kana like ょ called? I know that they're called 拗音 when they're attached to a normal size kana, but what is their individual name?
alternatively ちっちゃい fuckin よ
i took jcat just to see what the rage was all about and chose c for every answer and in the end i scored like 210 something lmao
just a tip if youre not sure just pick c and youre more likely to be better at japanese
i picked randomly on the reading portion and ended up with a 10 or something
That's not a futaba meme as explained by someone on this thread, that's a 2ch meme meaning he/she couldn't get the 2nd place. Remember, in 2ch your post is referenced by the numbers from 1 to 1000. OP is always referenced by 1, so getting number 2 means you post right after OP.
The answers for the listening comprehension questions are all C and D. It's to grind away at your patience.
I feel like trying to learn vocab without knowing the kanji is both discouraging and frustrating but people from here keep telling me not to learn kanji alone.
How do I deal with this? Just suck it up and jam it in my head using the cards as many times as it takes?
Legit question; can I use "えいがをたります" for I filmed a movie? Does torimasu work as a verb for "filming" or is it strictly for like, taking photos and or taking in general?
You can look up single kanji that give you trouble on jisho.
This is a typo, right? Hell, when I try to put it in google, it autocorrects me, and there's only 20 results for "詰まらさせた" in quotes.
The meaning is obvious (dude is trailing a dangerous person, dangerous person suddenly disappears, dangerous person then appears behind him with this line), but just wondering if anyone had encountered this before.
Sorry for the shitty pic, playing on my vita.
It's とります, and yes.
Past tense is ました. You might want to learn a little more before worrying about making sentences.
I caught that as soon as I posted but thanks for making sense of that despite my mistake. and thanks again
This is a typo, right?
It's likely a type for 息を詰まらせた, but I'm not sure.
The difference is whether it's a causative or not.
"To use this function buy this €4 app"
"Pls I'm poor and I can't maintain the app, donate me through Patreon or my website"
I wanted to support him, but he forced me to ask for a refund. I don't even want to consider pirating that shit
The DoJG deck is awesome.
In under a month I went from understanding example sentences like this
To example sentences like this
It feels awesome. If you are in a similar position as myself, struggling with grammar, use this deck.
When did you start using it? I think I have to finish Tae Kim first
You can use Aedict for free. It's only the most updated version which costs money. Also, it's damn well worth the money if it's something you are going to use every day.
Where are you getting your figures from? According to the Google Play Store:
Developing Aedict is not free. Please consider purchasing an improved version of Aedict (with new GUI, supporting new dictionary formats) for $5 (one beer). Do not worry though: I will keep Aedict 2.9 available forever.
Are we talking about different applications?
27 days ago. I'd already read through about a quarter of Tae Kim and half of Japanese: The Manga Way, around three years ago. Yeah, that rusty.
are you sure you weren't just afraid of long sentences and kanji spam?
didn't learn basic grammar
Yeah, that would make it hard to read.
Fear wasn't an issue; the latter sentences are a lot more complex than the former and I would simply get lost. Now they make sense, structurally, and aside from vocab, it feels more like a "flow" than "trying to break down sentences into chunks for comprehension". Instead of having to analyse, it just makes sense and feel nice to read. I really like the flow of Japanese, it turns out.
Do you guys do translation requests?
Does anyone have experience with learning without anki? I'm starting to loose faith in the program, I can't get the words down anymore. It seems like it gets worse each day, I don't have the motivation to remember the backs of the cards. I can remember the reading but never the meaning anymore
Thinking of following that Steve youtube guy and just doing things that are fun in the language. I already have a vocab of about 6000 or so words. Has anyone experienced learning with other methods?
I can remember the reading but never the meaning anymore
That's such a blessing though. It's so easy to figure out vocab if you know how it sounds, especially with listening practice. I sometimes know what the vocab means but I've got no idea how it's spoken.
And anyways, at 6k vocab you can just read stuff.
Why is 適当 so often spelt テキトー?
i just downloaded it the other day, it's pretty good so far
only up to various levels of certainty in tae kim but im going to finish his off at the same time, don't care about the duplication of effort
they both seem to have their own explanation, some of TKs ways referring to things are nice but dojg is sticking harder due to srs
tfw too busy mining words to actually review them
Just use 習う, free on F-Droid and no hassle
Oh yeah and it works offline too
Only if you have enough money
What a waste of a learning card.
You'd better get used to it, there are at least a hundred of them in core
Just delete them when they come up
A lot of people have learned Japanese without Anki. It's not a silver bullet that you have to use or you will fail. If you don't like it, just do something else like read a lot.
How is it a waste? You can just suspend or delete it and still have your daily 15 or 30 or whatever.
I like these cards because I need the katakana practice.
NARROW YOUR FOCUS ONTO JUST A FEW THINGS AT A TIME
PUSH YOURSELF TO FINISH WHAT YOU START
DON'T ACCUMULATE LARGE NUMBERS OF UNFINISHED VISUAL NOVELS, BOOKS, AND GAMES
thanks mr steve
paying anyone on Sup Forums
jesus christ what a horrifying thought
You'll never get your niche porn translated with that attitude
just doing things that are fun in the language
Do you have an idea of what that might be for you?
I was addicted to nicovideo for two years during college and pretty much always had something playing in the background whenever I was sitting at my computer (which was a lot of the time).
As a result, my listening comprehension skyrocketed, my vocabulary almost doubled, and by the end I could easily post whatever I wanted on 2ch. But I wasn't doing it for learning, I did it because I liked it. And I did it for at least 5 hours a day, maybe longer.
You can improve with almost any raw material you find interesting, but just don't underestimate the volume you need to consume. Then again, that really shouldn't even be a consideration, because you should enjoy what you consume so much that you don't even notice how much time it takes.
It's the slightly idiomatic meaning. Don't worry too much about it, the difference is stylistic more than anything.
doesn't let you take screenshots
so I can avoid it
I'll translate my own porn, thank you very much.
Doing reps in 23°C heat kills me inside.
Oh well, iced coffee ready, time to do the deed.
I failed 友達 in Anki
JUST FUCKING END ME
I CAN'T LEARN JAPANESE
I've found that drinking too much ice coffee gives me the jitters while doing reps, makes it way harder to complete them. For longer study sessions I use half hot chocolate, half coffee mix to dilute it and stay focused for longer. Or just drinking green tea.
Yeah for some reason iced coffee hits me harder too, even though I use the same amount of coffee. Weird stuff.
How do you even mix hot choc and coffee though? I remember trying to put cacao powder into coffee once and it didn't dissolve.
What's happened to me is now I am at a level where I can indeed just have fun doing things in Japanese. I know that for people starting, it's all just moonrunes, I remember that feel.
But at the current level of vocab, yeah I could do pretty much anything, even if I don't fully understand it.
I am thinking games, novels, lots of raw anime. I have a good chunk of material to look at. Fire Emblem Fates, Fire Emblem Shin Monshou, both Utawarerumono games, a few raw anime in my backlog. My main worry is because I have always used Anki, what will happen if I move away and don't do it.
I know I you CAN learn without it, but I fear it could be worse. Since it takes kids years growing up before they are proficient even, what if it took me years too? So I was kind of looking for other people's experiences and tips and if they had any success just absorbing material. Hearing your experience is kind of reassuring. Do you have any tips? I wonder things like, should I look up every word I don't know? Should I just ignore words I don't know? I can't use texthookers for everything since it's not all on PC.
Like today I couldn't even do 20 new words in Anki, and did very few old reviews. It's just getting to the point where I can't concentrate, I go over the words over and over and over and they don't stick. I feel like a fucking moron for not being able to remember a word after the 20th time it showed up in Anki today. But I can't. It doesn't stick. And it's getting worse. My reviews are just piling up.
I know most kanji but I still like to check readings.
That's kind of rude, do you mind deleting this post or apologizing?
I usually use instant coffee, so I mix half the usual amount of that powder into 3 tablespoons of COLD water, it helps get rid of the powdery taste. Dump the hot chocolate powder onto that, heat up the rest of the water separately, then just combine and mix. Add some ice cubes / milk if you don't want it too hot.
23°C heat has me sweating already, speaking as a Canadian.
Doing reps in 23°C heat kills me inside.
how about losing some blubber, trigglypuff
I've found that drinking too much ice coffee gives me the jitters while doing reps
My body is so used to caffeine that I can't even get the jitters if I try to anymore. The downside is that I start getting caffeine withdrawal headaches if I go too long without my fix, and it takes 3 or 4 cups of coffee to wake me up in a morning.
Pretty sure it's called an アイスコーヒー
23°C heat has me sweating already, speaking as a Canadian.
t. northern brit
Try cold brew concentrate. Guaranteed jitters if you don't dilute it.
What does おりやす mean?
Full sentence is お母さんと仲良くさせて頂いておりやす
slurred おります i think
It's natural to easily forget things that you don't have.
Ah fuck of course, I always forget about humble language n shit
I've done cold brews in the past since I heard they're supposed to be a lot stronger, but I never noticed any difference.
How do you make cold brews? Been ages since I did one, but from what I remember it involved leaving the French Press in the fridge for 24 hours.
I don't know how the vita handles screenshots, so it was just easier to use my phone. It's grisaia no kajitsu, a pretty big game so I was a little surprised to see a typo like this, especially since this is a later release and has had multiple patches.
I drink tea way more often so I can't bring myself to buy a proper setup, even if it's a tiny little french press etc.
It certainly gets me into focused study mode for a bit if I didn't get enough sleep, however, so having it around is nice.
check temp in room
rugged up like the ausfag in the chart
you can literally press the home button plus start on the vita to take screens
I do it all the time
then never study them
Average coffee to water ratio is 1:16, whereas in cold brew you usally use 1:8. So, about 125g of coffee per litre of water. Makes a pretty damn strong cup, though it's supposed to be diluted with milk and shit. There's lots of methods, and you don't even need a french press.
best girl ;_;
15C here and I'm in pyjama shorts and a t-shirt
t. poster of that image
Yeah, but then I'd have to retrieve them from the vita. With my phone I already have Dropbox sync set up, and it's not like I can hardly ever remember wanting to take screenshots before now.
Post short poetic / cool sounding sentences you've stumbled upon in books or whatever please!
death by chocolate, i can think of worse ways to go
one would be getting caught doing your mother in in the most awkward way, which is standing up in a hammock, knowing full well she has aids and ebola
I don't think you would be able to read any of them
I wouldn't mind her flying head first into my lightbulb at night
Okay, I know these are supposed to be hypothetical situational examples, but do places like this actually exist? Wouldn't that mean some 3000+ on teaching staff? My mind is fucking blown if even places with half that number exists. My high school only had like 20 teachers.
Fluoride leaking from the water supply.
It's talking about a university, not that much of a stretch to think it would have that much staff
There's a university in my country that boasts a 11:1 faculty to student ratio but yeah 6 to 1 is pretty unheard of
A folder for each album inside a folder for each artist, that's it. Within those folders the file names and shit are inconsistent.
It gets up to 30 where I live and I don't have an AC this year. Right now it's still only 14 though.
not that much of a stretch to think it would have that much staff
It is for me. Call me sheltered, I guess. A lot of these example sentences through these books I find comical at times. Benefits of being a simpleton.
There's a university in my country that boasts a 11:1 faculty to student ratio
Damn. Which uni? Is it small/private or a massive public one with tens of thousands of kids?
It gets up to 30 where I live and I don't have an AC this year.
Least you don't live in Darwin/Alice Springs. Every time I catch the news it seems to be a low of something in the 20s with a high of something near the 40s, regardless of time of year. What a shithole.
My main worry is because I have always used Anki, what will happen if I move away and don't do it.
I wonder things like, should I look up every word I don't know? Should I just ignore words I don't know?
These kinds of questions and concerns make it sound like you want to consume raw material primarily for learning, which kind of misses the point of what I was trying to say.
I barely look up anything when I'm immersed in material, because 1) it's usually not vital to understanding and 2) I'd rather keep watching/reading than pull my eyes away. When I'm watching videos, I don't care about learning at all, I just want to watch.
If you do it for enjoyment, you end up consuming so much almost painlessly that it's literally impossible not to improve (provided you have a strong foundation). If you do it for learning, you run into the same problems as anki--boredom, frustration, plateaus, and existential crises that manifest in the form of backlogs and whiny rants
I'm not the anti-anki poster but you need to get on my level of addiction if you want to get a similar benefit from raw-material-no-anki life, otherwise you should ask yourself why you're studying japanese
My reviews are just piling up.
tl;dr just do this: either stop all new cards and beat that shit down to a manageable number, or just delete the program. 6000 is more than enough to start a mined deck, or like someone else said, just start reading.
If my reviews are getting too much / my % on them is low, should I cut new cards for a day or two and train them?
Probably, or just lower the amount of them
Who else feels like they are going in cicles?
I'm about a month into the vocab deck and it seems that only the first week or so of material is really sticking. Everything else gets up right before becoming mature then I forget it. Hell sometimes I have to relearn numbers.
I'm consistent and motivated but maybe my IQ is just too low....
I've been going for probably close to 4 years now and I still feel like that from time to time
The thing is, you don't really notice when you're progressing, but you definitely do notice when you're failing
You just have to keep going and get used to the feeling that you're doing something wrong and/or are mentally retarded
It only gets easier with time, especially when the vocab deck stops spamming new kanji (around the 1k mark)-
especially when the vocab deck stops spamming new kanji
Why do people use nukemarine's core if this only makes it harder?
For me its total unwillingness to learn grammar
I'm legit 3 months into vocab and I have yet to go beyond suru in japanese the manga way.
It drills kanji the moment it introduces them by introducing all words that use kanji that have already been introduced. There's no delay so it basically just barrages you with a handful of words that share a character. It wouldn't be so bad if they were delayed by a few days.
How fast do you think you learned without it? Can you give an idea of how much you improved? You said about 5 hours a day, how fast did your ability go up? I can easily pull 5 hours a day since I'm neet, but I've only ever learned through (primarily) Anki reviews every day so it's all new to just go hardcore. So you just "had fun" and didn't look stuff up necessarily? Did you ever do Anki before you went with raw material?
Just start reading then. I started reading NHK News Easy 3 weeks in and it's honestly not as hard as I was expecting. The furigana, rikai-sama and looking shit up in DOJG help a lot of course, but I'm able to figure out most of what the article is saying.
As a beginner you need to be spending the majority of your time on grammar, it's definitely the largest hurdle early on, you should try to force yourself to read whatever grammar resources you can, and get reading as soon as possible
Maybe try the DoJG deck on anki if you're already used to using it for vocab
Also if you're finding the manga way to be hard to read, you could try tae kim instead since it's a lot less wordy and more to the point
I'm not sure I get what you mean. How would a different deck not have this, or what is a better method?
For one you can introduce cards in different orders than "recently learned kanji". Frequency, grade level, and order used in a given book are examples of alternate orders. A better method would be, like I said, spacing out "dependent" words, but it looks like nukemarine's system has a lot of problems in the first place, considering that 事・こと (more common, more general) is down at 2148 despite 仕事・しごと(less common, less general) being up at 162, so fixing whatever is causing that to happen would be a good start.
considering that 事・こと (more common, more general) is down at 2148 despite 仕事・しごと(less common, less general) being up at 162,
That sounds like a really stupid mistake, and I'm sure there are more.
Why doesn't someone from here fix those real quick an puts up the new version?
Or you could just use user core 5k, which by virtue of intentionally just being a rip of a competent frequency dictionary and nothing more, isn't enamored in any of the "Let's do things my way!" ego and incompetent implementations thereof of koohii members.
What I don't like about the core decks is the meanings are only one meaning and kind of weird sometimes. Many words have multiple meanings you need to know but core only gives you one. Meh.
welcome to flashcards
technically the reason for iknow's definitions being so bad is that they were meant to be used for cloze production/recall or something, not exposure nor recognition
mfw the anonymous core 5k guy tries to be anonymous but I figured out who he is :^)
Honestly as soon as you become capable of reading you should drop core and just start mining your own vocab, it's a lot more effective and core really does more damage than good a lot of the time with the order it shows you words and such
Mining is pretty fun too. There's something addictive about collecting words for your deck.
