Actually, it would be quite amusing to see Touma being forced to ask a girl out and having to decide who he's going to take on a date.
My bets would be on Fukiyose, Itsuwa, Himegami, Seria or Orsola, maybe Kaori if he's not scared of her anymore, maybe Othinus (size issues aside).
Of course everything would go terribly wrong.

Kamikoto shippers will never understand she is not his type and the two being together romantically has no basis other than a) she wants it and b) she may at some point confess her feelings.

I don't think Mikoto is actually going to confess. I think her feelings for Touma are going to be used to continue the conflict set up in NT15.

Who knows? Maybe NT16 WILL ignore NT15 in the beginning, only for Element to attack Touma and cause Mikoto to start babbling about space and stars again.

There's only one worthwhile and sensible ship in this series and it's Worst/Umidori

Not necessarily, many of them want it due to the story behind them and their interections, it is because of Touma and not Shiage, Accelerator, Gunha or Thor. However much anyone says they have the same personality but the true is that they are not the same
