There was no character development in Konosuba. The girls never really learned anything (on the contrary, they all stayed the same).

- Megumi still only gives a fuck about explosions (to the exclusion of her party memebers).
- Darkness is still fucking weird (despite it clearly bothering everything).
- Aqua is still a worthless goddess who can't do anything right.
- Kazuma is still a pervert who doesn't respect women.

Meanwhil, Bell-kun actually got stronger--it's the point of the fucking series.

Yes but like any good parody, Konosuba doesn't restrict itself to making fun of others and is pretty enjoyable per se.

The setting is tongue-in-cheek, but the characters are fun and likeable for what horrible people they are.

When another group of adventures pull monsters to his group he forgives them and says that if he was in that situation he would have also chosen leave them to fight instead of help. That felt out of character for him to say since he is the goody two shoe who would do anything to help others. Unless he was lying which is also out of character.

Kazuma is an asshole who doesn't like troublesome things and wants to take it easy. At least he is consistent. Comedies shouldn't be taken seriously either.

The whole him saying he'd do the same as the other party did was just him diffusing the situation the best he could, it is in character if you think about how he's trying to get everyone to get along, since that'd be his only option without causing a lot of animosity

A work is praised for achieving what it sets out to do. It doesn't make sense to shit on a comedy if it succeeds at making people laugh consistently but doesn't have great drama or worldbuilding. However, when Danmachi tries to play up the romance angle but is only manages to make it cliched and mediocre people are right to trash it for that.

Konosuba mocked the whole sekai genre and was all around fluffy and easy to enjoy, also no cared about character development or motivation because it was more comedy than story driven

Then danmachi comes off as repetitive and dull at times, it feels like most other sekai stories with MC having the ability to have large power leaps, and I personally found the plot fairly bland but I never actually finished the show so I cant really give it a fair review
