I have an aunt who got married to a man, had children and was straight as one can fucking get - also my aunt asked husband to marry, no it wasn't for money. When she turned 40 she got divorced and married a woman two years later and is now gay - she says she isn't bisexual.
So tell me OP, how can one be born straight as can be and then become gay?
Probably there is some genetics involved, and also biographical events (such as getting your ass rekt as a little boy or because of personality disorder).

Being gay is an incontinence of the sexual desire. No wonder they are promiscuous and are plagued with STDs.
I think its both. There are some people out there who have fucked up genetics and are probably not attracted to the opposite sex. This is just nature culling the weak and deformed.
Then there are people who will do anything for social status, where since they see gay shit all over social media they think that this is what they have to do in order to feel like they matter.

Homosexuality isn't something you're born with, it's a fetishistic disorder which develops from childhood and teenage experiences.
Otherwise you choose to commit homosexual actions.
