I remember the Clannad movie ended where Tomoya and Ushio reconciled, which I think is perfect considering its run time. I still prefer the series' ending though.

It makes more sense in the VN and ties directly to the multiple-route gameplay mechanic. They had to change things a bit to make it work as an anime.
