The Rem LN takes place before the Rem WN and it's obtained by buying all the BDS. There are 5 WN chapters, I'm guessing you haven't read the 5th one since the last one you remember is about the pendant. This chapter is one of the chapters from the LN version.

I think a waifuwar was probably already going on. I usually don't have trouble talking lore shit without starting up a waifuwar unless someone is being particularly autistic that day, and I only know one person who is that particularly autistic, or the waifuwar spam is just too much for anyone to have a real discussion in the thread at all.

Sadly it wasn't, going on. People were talking about regular stuff and it just sort of happened. The recent threads aren't too fun either. As if everyone is trying hard not to offend so they just keep silent to avoid arguments. Discussions aren't as energetic as it was like in the early arc 4 chapters.

Huh. Honestly, keeping quiet so as not to offend just creates the waifuwar atmosphere, as far as I can tell. Because that's when people just blither on saying nothing. Right now I've been finding these threads really boring because I don't have anything new to say, and no one else seems to have anything new to say.

I've talked Aldebaran, Echidna, Capella, and Rem, as far as I know anything about them. Roswaal and Ram too. Fuck it, I've even talked about vampires and authorities. Even when I go to 2ch, I see more discussion bitching about the artist and Tappei's lack of updates than anything plot-related.

If you've got something new to say, just say it.

We've squeezed out a lot of information. I fucking hate to say this since the LN practically dulls Subaru's feelings, removes his cool moments and partially decays his character, but we have to wait for LN to get past WN in order to get new information. Keep the threads somewhat alive till then since I doubt anyone will care when LN will go past WN and threads are no longer made.

WN updates tend to be good for discussion, and I expect to find some nice stuff in Arc 5 worth discussing. I've got lots of experience in theorycrafting, and I know discussion can only go so long without new clues before people start repeating themselves.

As for the differences to Subaru's character? My current impression is that he was changed to be somehow more admirable. Or less abrasive. His personality flaws don't seem quite so striking.
Many of these questions are going to be answered in the story, to some degree or another. I can't really discuss the IF on the same level as most people here, for reasons I'm making quite apparent.

In Arc 7, there are supposed to be foreign agents messing with the Royal Selection, so Hal might have a chance to show up there.

With the whole Capella connection that's already been spoiled, I'd still say the chances are low. She probably doesn't have an Authority. However, it's quite likely that she's absorbed some kind of Witch fluid. The only clear ability that's granted her is her Miasma sense, but it may have other effects that can be activated.

The changes are really exaggerated by some people here and are just griping about things that don't matter. He still has moments when he's cool, still acts emotional and suffers a lot. it's just not always about same damn thing and so frequently that he comes off schizophrenic unintentionally. He's gotten mentality tougher as you expect him after Arc 3 instead just randomly breaking down which can get old while still displaying his wear when it's meaningful like at the Witches Tea Party, when everybody dies 2nd loop of Arc 4 while he's heavily injured or the Flavor of Death when he laments he's gonna die before Emilia instead of together. Even at the points where he simply doesn't know what to do are in the LN.

How can Tia be both someone I hate but be so cute at the same time?

I never considered him to be schizophrenic or felt tired of him occasionally breaking down, but that doesn't really matter. I wasn't even talking about Arc 4, though parts of the differences can be linked across to general changes in his behavior from WN to LN.

Subaru is definitely characterized differently. In the WN he is plainly more obnoxious, immature, impulsive, and abrasive. Even after Arc 2. His general flaws are more striking.
I was just throwing my wild guess out there. Was Rem infected by the same thing as Subaru? That's unclear. She would have had it poured down here ear, so maybe it had a different effect than having it get into wounds. Or maybe it was just something else entirely.

I guess we can never know unless the fluid is also "alive" in Rem's body like with Subaru.

There's no description of any living fluid in any Oni, as far as I recall. Most people don't think it's the Dragon Blood. I mean, Subaru can't smell miasma and Rem doesn't have black infection marks, unless her brain is overrun with black veins and shit.

See that's the thing. What if this fluid strengthens the user, i.e. Subaru's arm and Rem's miasma smell, that its afflicting in exchange for a drawback? Maybe Capella was trying to make supersoldiers of some sort?

Well, I don't think it's the same substance. For most people. Capella's blood just kills them painfully. However, Subaru supposedly has some enhanced strength and can absorb the blood from others.

As for Rem? Rem can smell miasma. Most beings who do that are either spirits or mana constructs like Leweses. I'm actually wondering right now if Shaula might be an Oni too, and Capella was fucking around with the same kind of shit that gave her the ability to smell miasma. Making Rem basically the same thing as a Sage's Disciple.

She would have kill him on the first excuse she got. Rem is pretty emotional despite how first appeared and doesn't always think things through because of it.
