Matter of fact, I think the voting age should be raised instead to 20.
18 year olds are right in the "Oh my god I am a adult holy shit I can do whatever I want" phase and coping with it. It's a time when you really start testing the limits. And still immature with no real experience in life. 20 seems more reasonable as then you have had 2 more years to let it sink in, perhaps found a job.
