Yeah the pacing is pretty all over the place. Especially the Chimerant arc. It has a lot of nice ideas but no idea how to space them out properly.
My fav ep of the 2011 series was the one where they run through the tunnel for the whole episode near the beginning. That actually had very good pacing and told a self contained story.
