I enjoyed watching as it aired occasionally on Cartoon Network. The fight the red guy has against the masked evil man was great. There should be more porn of the brown girl.

Yep, the main cast got replaced each season the only main characters who stayed main characters were dan, Shun and Marucho.
The only main bakugan who was kept around was Drago, Marucho and Shun replaced their main bakugan each season.

I was so happy to see Dan and Runo together in the end, and then lost my shit when she just left past season 3,

honestly, season 1 was pretty good for a kid's show, I mean, it had a comfy feeling in the beginning and kinda of like Digimon started to grow as you got closer to them all and literally everything went downhill from there

I used to watch this as a kid. I thought this show was awesome, and in retrospect it's not so bad if you remember it's a kids show. The main character was alright and Shun (or was it Shin) was pretty cool. The girl characters were all great and really cute. Alice was awesome and she was even better after we found out that SHE was Masquerade. The season one finale was awesome, then season two came along and it was all downhill from there. A great first season but the story Linda concluded itself at that point. They wrote themselves into a corner since Masquerade, while being a good villian for the show, was their only villian and he ended up just being a party member after all. Plus they kinda dropped the cute girls from the party after the first season.

A few years later Metal Fight Beyblade premiered and I thought that show was much better, however it needed more cute girls like Bakugan had.

I loved the dub even though it wasn't great but I wish I could watch it subbed. I only saw the last 2 episodes in Jap RAW back whenever somebody uploaded them in youtube and some clips here and there(like when Runo says she loves Dan)

Reminder that the sequels were trash produced for the North American(US & Canada) audience and they're not worth watching.

It's just another toy battle anime like Beyblade, but now it's marbles instead of spinning tops. You got your same kinds of character archetypes and if you enjoy shit like Beyblade you'll like it as well.

I started watching Season 2 and dropped it early on. When I saw that they replaced Marucho's Bakugan with some mermaid bitch I was so diappointed. Marucho's Bakugan was like one of the best niggas in that show.

I would have preferred it if they made a new series with new protagonist and all new characters instead. Set on Earth too not some other shitty planet.

Metal Fight Beyblade sucked compared to the original series. In the original series the main characters were bros and their relationship to each-other was very well written

I believe they've completed the original first season and 2000/V-Force and now they're subbing G-Revolution

But IMO Beyblade's dub being so bad it's good added a lot of enjoyment to it and also it had better music than the original version. The jap version by comparison feels blander and more serious especially with its unfitting orchestral bgm when the more rock/punk oriented soundtrack from the dub fit it way better

I believe B-Daman had some subs back then but not sure how much they subbed.

Though it'd be great to have the option of watching all these series subbed regardless. I'd love to see Bakugan season 1 subbed. It would give me an excuse to revisit it.

That's how it always is for the original Japanese ain't it? Always more orchestral BGM, it's a lot slower in pace and a lot more shocking things can happen that USA dub groups remove.

This show brings back too many memories, I'm planning on re watching this shit sometime soon and it's probably going to punch me in the heart. I found the OST for the game and it still holds up to this day, even the game looks great after so many years.

Bakugan was a bigger part of my childhood than Beyblade to be honest, it's sad that the show fell apart after awhile. I did like the Darkus brawler with Percival though, he was cool as fuck. Replacing Julie with Mira for female Terra Brawler was pretty lame though.

I forgot what the fuck happened in the series after Dragonoid Maxus and Maxus Helios happened, not going to lie Traps were pretty interesting.

Could you even use the Maxus forms in battle? I just remember them being large as fuck. You could basically swap your typing to any of the types to steal G Power though if I recall.

What ever happened to shows like this and Beyblade anyway? They got a shit load of seasons and lost fans with each season I assume. I got tired of Beyblade after they tried to introduce Beywheels, no clue what they were doing.

People actually dying was always a huge no no in american anime dubs, even though in Japan it's super normal. Always had to work around it.

Watching Drago evolve for the first time was hype as shit but this show probably didnt age well at all. Each new season added a whole new layer of stupid shit.

Preyas was the nigga. Cant believe they ever shelved him. I hate that they shelved all the girls and their bakugan too. Gorum and Tigrera were cool and underused as fuck.

To this day I don't know why they didn't bring back the old character cast and have them tag along after New Vestroia.

I liked how the first season had this happy-go-lucky feeling to it and was set in the real world.

The characters getting older lost a lot of its appeal too because a big part of the original's appeal was that it was kids who were playing the game and I their immature personalities made them endearing...making them more mature kills the charm.
The setting being on a different planet sucked. Not to mention Julie, Runo and Alice not being there. I felt sorry for Runo that she got separated from Dan especially...like wtf what was the point.

And they didn't event try with the villain for New Vestroia. He was just Masquerade except shitty.

I agree, the basic feel of the 1st season and the overall introduction of the series, characters, etc, is what made it highlight for me. As time went on in NV the charm kind of burned out. Not only that but Marucho and Shun kept replacing their fucking Bakugan. I'm like why would you replace your main partners? I think it had something to do with them becoming guardians of Vestroia or some shit, I forget.
It didn't but they probably wanted a female Bakugan Brawler with a female Bakugan, so there you go. The Tigrera heads in the Haos Arena in the game were annoying though.

Bakugan was never a success in Japan. The other seasons were made for the west(and some of them only made it to Japan later).
IMO it would have been better if a new season had all new characters like they do it with Yugioh instead of ruining the originals

But really the fucking problem with New Vestroia battlewise was that they dropped all pretense of having gate card placement mechanics matter.

I also remember New Vestoria having characters spamming ability cards to death.

Yeah, it basically just became "Set a single gate card, throw out two Bakugan, and then just keep playing ability cards to shift the balance of power until one side wins."

Shows like this made me wish I actually had friends as a kid and could bond over playing tabletop games.

I was like, in early highschool when it aired on CN I think. I just kind of had it on and watched it in the background while I fucked around on the internet. I also caught some episodes early in the morning from when I kept the TV on on watching adult swim for anime all night.

I don't care if this fight was dumb shit after asspull and vice versa, the lightsaber battle got my dick hard back in the day.

Best fight in the series hands down, no competition here except for Dan vs Masquerade/Genderbent Alice.
