I can't speak to the "remaster" but the base game is good but not great. Great visuals though.

Actually PS4 has better graphics, it doesn't really matter though since the difference is almost non existant. It also runs at 60fps. And as far as I know there isn't a way yet to pirate physical things like an artbook.

PS4 version looks slightly better unless (some improved textures and higher res cutscenes when compared to PC), unless you've got a PC beefy enough to do 4k60fps, at which point even with the worse textures PC goes back to looking sharper again.

PS4 is on the left, PC is on the right. The PS4 version had a bunch of environment textures improved.

it's a near masterpiece. the only things that hold it back are some particularly bad gimmick missions, limited (but good) music and the shallow progression system.

No reason to pick it up on PS4. It runs on toasters and is cheaper on PC (10$ on sale, if not lower now) The visual improvements are also barely noticeable. The artstyle is good, but the flat textures and washed out colors are still in the PS4 version so if you really want to spend 20$ more you might as well. Though a smart consumer would get the better deal which is the PC version.

Don't get me wrong, the PC version at 4K still looks better, but unless you've got an upper-mid end PC capable of handling it the PS4 version comes out slightly on top.

Barely anyone has a 4K monitor so playing it at 4K instead of 1080p or 1440p is doable fairly easily. Besides, if he's willing to play at 1080p, he might as well pick the PC version since it's cheaper.

That would never happen because PSP games aren't really up to snuff visually to release on current consoles or PC. And I doubt SEGA has the dosh to throw around like Squeenix did with Type-0 when they banked on FF15 demo getting people to buy the game which it did.

The Type-0 HD models are just the higher-res models they would have already made for the normal-maps of the PSP models + slightly higher detailed hair. That plus lighting was all they did to "visually improve" the game.
