I might get it, I'm tired of crossfiring my 290s and want a single card.

It's time for an upgrade.

>founders edition

What does this even mean?

it's not that bad if you compare it to titan x. paying only $600 for more than $1000 of performance

Alright Sup Forums, help me choose wisely. Pick one:

GTX 1080p
PS4k

$1000 DOLLARYDOOS

that they found enough retards that'll buy anything they release- no matter the cost.

lol pc master race only 1080? sony will have the ps4k soon which can do 4000 graphics.

so much for your $1000 graphics cards.

>More power than a TItan X
>1070 will be equivalent to the TItan X
So how much of a lie is this

PS4k I mean it says 4k in the title so it must be 4k, GTX 1080 only does 1080p

I'll step up to it. thanks evga, never let me down.

>tfw just bought 960
>tfw step up to 1080 or 1070

prolly 1080, then ill get a better monitor a month later

>PCucks will defend this

can it play games in 4k? Cause 4Im not upgrading until I can play in 4k. for 200$ top.

See you in 5 years

How much power does these new graphic cards need? I have a 650W Corsair. Is that good enough?

>8GB
>will come as 3.5 GB
>costs more than a modern console
>will still have less than console performance and constant crashing
>even if this is true and somehow the light outside the modern shit gpu industry pc has no games to use this thing on

I just built a computer w/ i7-6700 non-k.
16 gb ram
620w psu
Old 750Ti card borrowed.

Thinking about upgrading psu to 850 fully modular and maaaaaybe a 1070?

Guess I'm in the waiting game for amd and future benchmarking. I'll drop more money in June

xD

Bets on what fuck-up will happen?
>Overheating
>BSOD
>3.5
>Woodscrews
>Fire upon 4k gaming

Dont know if bait or just stupid

>this whole post

Just imagine AMD trying to pull this off...

>Need a new graphics card since my GTX 660 is dying
>This gets announced
But I'm not shelling out that much for a card.
What should I upgrade to?

>2016
>not knowing master race is a meme used by nvidia/AMD paid shills
>still get cucked into buying new graphics card the same way apple drones buy their iphones.

NVIDIA has really got their drivers game together, it would be impossible for the current team to fuck up as much as their old twenty Asians in a room.

I'm certain they're going to pull someform of a 3.5 again. If ti's going to have 'Dedicated space,'that only lets you use 7 of the 8 or if it'll pull a 390x and fuck up the encoding so only brand new games realize you have 8gbs and not 4.

>pcuck is so fucking mad they just post xD because they couldnt disprove me

Nvidia drivers are still shit lately, especially on Windows 10. Gimping old cards, compatability issues with older games, etc.

The best thing about this announcement, is knowing that 970 to 980ti cucks will finally start getting their shit gimped beyond belief so much that they'll be forced to shell out another 600$ or play new games at 1024x800 with 20 FPS.

Nvidiots always never saw it coming, despite it happening twice already. Maybe they'll learn one day, but probably not. Nvidia's marketing team is top tier, gotta give it to them.

...

Delicious post +1

What's the point of buying a $600 graphics card when the newest games on PC are just console games?

>buying nvidia after they fucked kepler users and the 3.5GB fiasco

NVIDIA drivers are still not as bad as they used to be, I don't know what their current state is because after 3.5 I switched to AMD, but in the mid 00's it was nothing but constant shit updates that couldn't run anything and left you with a flammable brick that refused to play anything over low.

>2016
>still think fish hooks are baits

thats the same price point as the 980 was

>gimping old cards

why do people sitll spew this dumb conspiracy despite there being literally no evidence for it?

I know, right?

I have a 650ti

What should I upgrade to?

Why should you even upgrade?

Titan x

>percentage difference

on what?

>launch vs 1.3
is this fallout launch vs 1.3 patch?

gimping old cards is true though, gtx 700 series is suffering hard from it. benchmarks and games are running worse on latest drivers than they did on last years drivers.

>retards
just like buying 300€ consoles for a single game

Wait for AMD to unveil the first Polaris chips. 1070 and 1080 are supposed to be highend enthusiast shit, while the first Polaris chips will be the 470 and 480, mid-end stuff. Apparently the 480 should have performance close to the 390, while being a much smaller and more efficient chip than both the 1070 and 1080. Reveal should be in a few weeks, at Computex apparently. There's no reason not to wait at this point.

1070 or 1060

youtube.com/watch?v=BOHqG1nc_tw

FPS Percentage difference. And yes, difference compared to launch vs 1.3 patch.

Not only that, there's loads of reports of people running games like shit on the latest patches (using 700 series) that downgrade to older patches and get upwards of 30-40% FPS increases in newer games. Go figure.

>gimping old cards is true though
then why hasn't anyone posted any tangible evidence?

>benchmark games are running worse and worse on new drivers
why hasn't anyone posted any evidence of this?

Why do people think that updating their drivers is magically a good thing because they're "new"? Do they not realize they can download old or simply not update their drivers if they want to retain performance?

kek

This is patches for a game, not driver updates

>% difference
>we have a huge % increase in games
% difference is the average between a set of data in a range, this is not the same as percentage increases or decreases

...

>3016
> still thinking its 2016

>The gimping isn't real!
>Why are using the drivers that are gimping your card? You have an option to upgrade you know!

kek

>Fallout 4 launch vs patch 1.3

>DRIVERS

holy shit you people are thicker than a bowl of oatmeal

980

The guy who did that did the first benchmark with the drivers available at launch time, and then with drivers available at 1.3 time.

Not only that, but the game patches added performance fixes to the game, therefore, it makes no sense that Nvidia would drop in performance. In comparison, all AMD cards got huge gains from these, and AMD didn't even launch drivers for the game IIRC.

Keep ignoring it then, no one's stopping you.

Buy the new 1080 too, while we're at it. In a year or so, when the new cards get released and the 1080 starts getting gimped too, you'll feel what 970 and 980 users are about to feel too.

Upgrade to a 390x, I made the switch and aside from issues with NVIDIA games I've had way better performance.

At the bottom is the wattage

>didn't post any evidence
>just spews the same old memes
>patches vs drivers

thats a multivariable test then, he didn't hold every other factor constant

he should have used both drivers then and now with the patch.

This is only indicitive of the patch for the game being garbage for Nvidia GPU's and theres no evidence that the driver caused it.

AMD didn't release a driver in the time between launch and 1.3 despite getting huge gains, this obviously isn't attributed to drivers since they're using the same driver regardless which means his nvidia experiement can't be attributed to drivers either

>guys, HUUUUUUGE performance, 2x better than the TitanX!
>performance per watt graph
I feel bad for anyone that falls for this kind of marketing, kek. If you fall for it, you deserve it.

does it 4k60fps

>Not only that, but the game patches added performance fixes to the game, therefore, it makes no sense that Nvidia would drop in performance.
or you know, Bethesda being shit at game code writes another crappy patch like they did for skyrim

here's your (You)

I know you're retarded

>keep ignoring a graph that has nothing to do with drivers despite the user updating his drivers and not keeping them constant
>the game patch means the nvidia driver was bad

if he truly extrapolated he'd show a before and after using new and old drivers for both patches along with extrapolating with driver with patch and old driver old patch

Yea, you keep moving the goal posts kid. AMD gets huge gains with the same drivers, that's just because they were favored by the dev of a GameWorks title, Nvidia getting gimped is the dev's fault too, of course, releasing broken patches.

You don't want to see the truth, that's fine, but stop posting any time now.

>less than console performance and
A 750ti is outperforming the PS4.

>Yea, you keep moving the goal posts kid.
I never moved the goal posts. You literally have a graph that shows nothing to do with drivers

>they were favored by the dev of a game works title
Didn't know Fallout 4 had gameworks in it but regardless what does this have to do with drivers gimping cards? He should have had a graph showing the 1.3 patch comparing old and new drivers, but thats not what the graph illustrates at all.

The real question you should be asking yourself is: at what resolution do I want to play my games?

If its 4K get the Titan or 980
If its 1080p get the R9 390

google kepler gimping

tons of complaints of performance getting worse with each driver update

Probably no reason to upgrade the PSU. There are plenty of calcs online that would be upgraded for the fresh cards.

The Fallout 4 1.3 patch added Nvidia Flex Physx which only runs on Nvidia hardware, it also introduced a memory leak that has been already fixed.

You people need to stop worrying on behalf of other people, seriously, why is that everyone who complains about Nvidia are overly concerned AMD users who worry on behalf of people who buy Nvidia?

no you are

I want 1080p but I dont want AMD cards

Actually, both the 1070 and 1080 are $50 higher than the 970 and 980 were at their own launch, pretty shitty of them.

Unless the 1070 has performance that justifies the price, new PC builds this year should be looking at 390X or 980's pricedrops IMO, which currently hit a really nice sweet spot being able to max all forseeable AAA vidya at 1080/1440. Nvidia is ricing the shit out of their new cards with 10gb of memory but its a waste of everyone's time since it won't actually run 4k games at 60fps.

>google kepler gimping
literally nothing but fringe click bait articles, none of which haven't any comparisons of before and after patches proving with correlation that updating drivers gimps cards. Every article is just "Is Nvidia Gimping their Old cards?" or "Why is my 780 performing like shit in new games?" despite them having little to do with the actual drivers

You have a better chance at making the argument that Gameworks in games is gimping Nvidia cards. No where can I find a single lick of objective evidence making direct side by side comparisons of old drivers vs new drivers

>Just sold my 980 Ti for $530 on ebay.

I am good to go.

Oh boy, just think of all the gorgeous, worthwhile games that will be coming out on PC!

Better get those wallets out, boys! Graphics have barely changed in the past 8 years, and you want to be ready for when all the secret, good, high-end PC only titles everyone has been developing secretly come out!

Don't forget to get a gaming mouse and gaming keyboard, too!

>jokes are now "trolling"

without knowing what your previous card was that statement literally doesnt mean anything

Well everything is great value compared to the titan x because the titan x is a fucking scam.

>literally nothing but click bait

but there's some actual statistics and proof behind them

neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1058295

The titan was always a scam

back when the titan first came out the 690 also came out.

the 690 was like 100 dollars less than a titan (690 was 1000 dollars, titan was 1100+) and the 690 just out performed the titan in every spot purely because it was two fucking 680's on a single PCB

>I dont want AMD cards
why not? they are better than nvidia these days.

What's stopping me from getting a 980 TI?
It'll still hold well and still does hold well. Why waste money on this pascal shit.

The Titan's a fucking workshop card
Those aren't made for video games

ok this seems fairly standard for the 80 why bitching about the price exactly?

>$600 to play MOBAs and PS4 ports

>What stopping me from getting [a card that costs as much and doesn't perform as well]?
Nothing's stopping you, you just have to be dumb enough.

These are all relative performance graphs comparing two generations

its first comparing 700 series to 600 then 700 series to 900

This still isn't old drivers vs new drivers. Its also trying to compare it to AMD GPU's which also have their own driver updates that obviously skew the performance results because this is a dumb "relative performance" chart instetad of actual performance in a game with a raw metric like FPS or usage load or anything else.

This is apples and oranges when compared to AMD

Literally show me the proof that new Nvidia drivers make old kepler cards perform worse

Compare a 770 on a series of drivers from then up to now with new drivers or what ever, simple metrics and simple results thats literally it.

What does that even mean

Semi related topic:
I'm a poorfag and bought the 750 TI 2GB a couple of months ago. When should I upgrade it and what should I upgrade it to?

>RELATIVE GAMING PERFORMANCE
>5
>4
>3
>2
>1
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

I don't play either.

>the original titan was advertised as a gaming GPU

I think he meant workstation

?

That's pretty standard. If you're poor just get the 60/70 card like the poorfag you are.

how many fps'ses it gets at pong
