It's not that I don't like them, I've just already played them.

It's not that I don't like them, I've just already played them.
Mother series?
Bumping with cute protagonist
Phantasy Star. All of them.
...
Forgot to include it, but I've beat the two good ones
Any you'd recommend over the others? I've played the 1st one and the online ones. Played a bit of 2 and 3 but never beat them.
I've heard good things about this, but I don't have a 360 atm, and if I did I probably would've been playing Vesperia instead of making this thread.
>tfw never coming to ps3
this
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals
Breath of Fire 3
Legend of Mana
SaGa Frontier 2
Metal Max Returns
haha
holy danm
been all the week trayng to remeber this game's name.
Used to have a friend who played this like crazy on his DS many years ago...
Vagrant Story
Shadow Hearts 1 and 2
None. Play WRPGs. JRPGs are unnecessarily difficult and require nonsense grinding.
Radiata Stories, Skies of Arcadia Legends
Suikoden
I suggest starting with 1 so you can appreciate the improvements of 2 so much more.
seiken densetsu
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Secret of Mana 1 and 2
>jrpgs
>difficult
A few of the early ones are grindy but I honestly don't think most are that bad.
Wrpgs on the other hand are crazy tedious.
>managing inventory in ultima games
>Poor balance (BG2 wizards wreck everything, true about most wrpgs)
>Generic as fuck "kill some goblins" stories
>token lava, ice, forest levels
>"boss" battles tend to feel unsatisfying in many of the games, often beatable in a few seconds
>may be good at lore and world building (in rare cases) but often has shit gameplay, which ruins the point of playing a game in the first place
>some older wrpgs have shitty portraits of people in cheap costumes
There are a few I like, but the majority of them are chore to play imo. Most Jrpgs even if the game is meh I'll like the sound track or the characters, but most wrpgs just feel so overly generic to me.
Shadow Hearts.
Depending on your tastes you could go with Hyperdimension Neptunia
Atelier, twewy, radiant historia, hyperdimension neptunia, disgaea if it counts, mother series, undertale, live a live, xenogear series, suikoden, jeanne de arc, bravely default, pokemon, mario and luigi series, valkyria chronicles.
Valkyrie profile too, i forgot it.
Etrian Odyssey.
Growlanser if you're into waifus.
Drakengard, chrono trigger
>Dark Cloud beating PSIV
Shit taste poll.
Also, play this OP.
Lost odyssey is fuckin weird m8.
One minute I think I'm playing a jrpg, the next minute I'm reading for two hours and crying my eyes out.
>twewy, radiant historia,

Removed the shit for you.
holy shit are you me?
who is this semon demon?
shut up namefag.
Also OP, play wild arms or the numbered breath of fire games.

Am I?

Anything in the Tactics Ogre series but I have a huge boner for Ogre Battle 64 due to army building, squad tactics and my general fondness for cute generic units in SRPGs.
Great story too. Easily emulatable.
whos the chick?
YES YOU FUCKING ARE.
MY NIGGER.
>Anything in the Tactics Ogre series
You know that's 2 games right?
But I agree, Let Us Cling Together and Knight of Lodis are both great.
Grandia
No good JRPG has grinding except for the dosh grind in all early game DRPGs of both western and eastern origins
PSIV is good but also check out Growlanser IV and Radiant Historia.
If you like TRPGs consider Der Langrisser, Front Mission 4, and Tactics Ogre LUCT.
Good srpg taste.
Also, Shining Force 1-3.
Consider the superior mistwalker RPG.
Alternatively, maybe
Dragon's Dogma or Xenoblade.
Patrician taste, user.
such a good game, but god damn if that last boss wasn't hard. I just ended up using the cheats on my hacked wii, couldn't be assed with it after dying however many times, just wanted to see the rest of the story
Bravely Default and Bravely Second? Both great games.
Vandal Hearts is cool if you want a pretty tough SRPG.
Anachronox is a really cool sci fi turn based game that feels pretty similar to the PS1 era JRPGs.
Septerra Core is another game with a brave/default system like Bravely Default.
Pier Solar is a really tough game, kinda long for the era too.
The Penny Arcade games are good if you don't mind the "lol xD" humor.
Child of Light is really fun, but feels a bit try-hardy with the writing. It's got a cool battle system though.
Costume Quest is pretty good, but it's repetitive and really simple.
All available on Steam friendo.
>all available on steam
Other than Bravely and Vandal hearts, oops.
do you have more of that kind of pics?
>Pier Solar is a really tough game, kinda long for the era too.
It's 6 years old.
Weirdly enough, yes.
Oh really, I just assumed it was out when the genesis was out, seeing as it was called a genesis JRPG on the store page and stuff.
Pretty cool to know, thanks.
I find tham fascinating, for some reason.
...
Why can't I stop looking at this shit?
Fuck you, Bravely Default and Second are both shit.
It's like watching dogs fucking. You know it's out of place, but you just can't look away
Thank you for the well written and thought out arguments, you really opened my eyes user.
Your pictures scare and disgust me user.
And most of those games aren't jrpgs.
Suikoden I-III
They're reminiscient of JRPGs in terms of battle system and development system. If the OP just wants his games from Japan then there's not much he can play.
If the hotdog wasn't meat that would taste quite good imo
>not many rpgs from japan
wat
phantasy star 4 man, cant go wrong
outside of the ones he listed.
Unless we're going super weeaboo ugu without any regards to gameplay.
I'm sure he meant that there are not many jrpgs from Japan
>JRPGs are unnecessarily difficult and require nonsense grinding
Or, you know, using more than just the attack option.
He means that he's a complete plebeian and only plays games on steam.
I'm a Phantasy Star, but something tells me that OP is more of a Dark Cloud kinda guy than a PS guy.
>buying anything but a PC to play RPGs.
Ok buddy. Your Vita will never be relevant.
>Sandwich with milk and banana
Those look okay I think
It's Mayonnaise.
that looks like something else, not milk
