Why are the Nintendo sports games such a mixed bag in the last 5 years?
Mario Kart 8 is amazing.
Mario Golf World Tour had an amazing amount of content, and the online tournaments incredible.
But why is Mario Tennis Ultra Smash so devoid of content?
In comparison Mario Tennis Open looks much better, and that game had less content than it's predecessors.
Is it so much to ask for a solid line up of Mario Sports titles on one system?
They're literally the only sports games I enjoy.

Yeah, and not only the rushing, but Camelot said they had no idea making HD games would be as troublesome as it ended up being, they wasted a lot of time simply getting the hang of it and in development time is money.
Nintendo, please.
On the NX give us an entire line up of games, all with great online and tournament play. Give us cool Mario universe specific side modes. And gives us career/campaign modes maybe even with RPG elements.
I'm talking about:

>Mario Football
>Mario Rugby
Plus the other mainstays like

For fucks sake, do another Mario Sports Mix, just make sure each game has tournament modes and online.

Golden Sun on DS, two Mario sports games for the 3DS, and two Wii games from before 2010
All of the Mario Tennis and Golf games.
The Wii U being Nintendo's first HD system, and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash being the first HD game should answer your question.

What does that even mean, we haven't seen anything yet.
If Nintendo's not completely retarded they'll make sure the NX has standard controls (like, 2 sticks, 4 face buttons, you know), because noone's gonna port games if the control schemes are different. Wii U's controllers' triggers not being pressure sensitive was retarded enough. Imagine trying to play GTA on that.
I refuse to believe they'll make a Wiimote again.
We know nothing about NX's hardware, not even if it's stationary or not.

They've been beholden to their systems and trying to push out anything to help WiiU and 3DS sales, but also done in a fashion to keep their total quarterly/yearly earnings up to snuff.
Unless this NX can make Nintendo great again (see: selling millions of consoles without any games [see: PS4 and XB1]) then going the Sega route and focusing just on making good fucking games for others on their own schedule is the best future.

Instead of having fun content its just basic sport with Mama mia Mario! Buya my game, wahoo! Nintendos just a by the numbers max profit business now. They used to sell games because they were good, but now they know they can sell shit by name alone.

Don't get me wrong, my man, I know they have plenty of games now. What I'm saying is how much they did initially without much.
Just in their first year (and still now I'm pretty sure) they sold more and faster than the PS3 and 360 in the same timeframe, but were people really buying them for Knack and Dead Rising 3? Maybe, but I think people were just ready for new systems after so long.
My friend and I spent many a weekend getting drunk on cheap rum and playing Sports Mix. Good times.

They were buying them for the same reasons they were buying the PS3/360, those multiplat titles, fifa, cod etc etc. The only people who really care about exclusives is the same group of people who spend their free time arguing about video games on the internet.
Mario Kart is made in-house by the same Nintendo team each time so they know what they're doing. Except for MK7 which was a rushed piece of shit.
Same deal with Camelot for Tennis/Golf.
Anything else is made by third parties and is generally a cash-grab.
