What would a AAA Vaporwave game be like?
What would a AAA Vaporwave game be like?
A game set in a Neo-funkatronic PC-98 Dimension. Rolling fields of green and Dali's clocks fill the landscape in what would be called the most 'retro' feeling RPG of the century.
You mean Undertale?

>vaporwave
A modern genre that's just slowed down 80s pop music with a dreamy, nostalgic and often uncanny vibe.
>Retrowave
A modern genre that's largely inspired by New Wave, and very synthy 80s movie/vidya/television soundtracks. It's very retrofuturistic.
>Vaporwave (also vapourwave) is a musical micro-genre that emerged in the early 2010s among Internet communities. It is characterized by a nostalgic fascination with retro cultural aesthetics (typically of the 1980s, 1990s, and early-mid 2000s), video games, technology, post-modern Japanese culture and advertising, and styles of commercial and popular music such as lounge, smooth jazz and elevator music. Musical sampling is prevalent within the genre, with samples often pitched, layered or altered in classic chopped and screwed style. Central to the style is often a critical or satirical preoccupation with consumer capitalism, popular culture, and new-age tropes.
Ok, so it'd be cyberpunk or science fantasy, in the style of Phantasy Star, or Bubblegum Crisis. It'd be reminiscent of a Sega CD, MSX or PC Engine. It'd be probably a detective game, but not point and click. If not that, then a 3rd or 1st person shooter. Either way you'd be fighting against someone big. Lets go with big pharma. They've been doing some illegal testing, and unethical research. You'd go in and stop them.
