mfw my roommate tried to start a streaming career with this game
I see overwatch is following the same steps.
>80 playing an hour ago.
Fucking holy shit what a hilarious blunder. It was a pleasure to see this ship sink.
Well considering that 500 concurrent players is literally nothing for a hyped up AAA release - it's been dead for months now.
I'm pretty sure they're soon going to close the servers for good, though.
It's kind of sad to see something like this. I remember watching trailers and thinking "Wow, that's pretty cool."
Do you think they broke even?
Haha that is just sad, he shoulda used his brain. Knowing this game would flop from the dlc implementation. Who in their right mind would think they could out do Bobby Kotick?
Almost makes me want to gather up and compile all the, "This game isn't going to fail!" posts into an image from last year just to get a laugh out of it. But that would be too autistic.
>Do you think they broke even?
>27k peak
Yes. Thanks to the retards who pre-ordered.
Why do you enjoy seeing high budget games fail Sup Forums? How is this healthy for the industry? It only encourages developers to play it too safe and be far less likely to branch out into more creative ideas.
WAIT SHIT
What's that FPS in space where you float around the outside of a space station and shoot the enemy team?
How many players does that have compared to Evolve?
interesting concept for a game and I wonder if it would have been successful if they didn't go full retard with the monetization strategy and forcing esports into it
Shattered Horizon and it's literally dead with 0 players online.
If by play it safe you mean stick to tried and true practices like not having more expensive worthless DlC than actual game content and not blowing all of their budget on marketing and that fucking bus, then I hope this happens more often
Damn, I was kinda hoping it would have 81+.
Evolve was an f2p game bandwaggoning on the moba market trying hard to look cool and even though the concept was interesting the business decisions stole the spotlights of the game and ruined it completely
>f2p game being sold by full price
>in-game market
>aiming for e-sports
>popular beta displayed 100% of the game invalidating the price
That sounds a lot like what battleborn and overwatch are doing.
not quite
there are still a handful of people on their forums and steam who try to defend it
but yeah it's almost dead
This just teaches them they are nothing without the mighty hand of Gaben!
technically no.
>technically they're still paying me to shill
Shattered Horizon. Although that game's problem was that it came out at a shitty time and it basically could only be played on Vista (since the DX it was running at that time could only be run by Vista and up) when everyone had XP. If it had come out later on I'd think it would have been a classic. It was a genuine experience for an fps, and had some pretty great ideas in it like the stealth component and how shooting at a guy's oxygen tank on their back would cause it to burst and instant kill them. Atleast before the weapons patch fucked it all up.
desu the game could've been something fucking fun if they just didn't go total jewmode with pricing. It is a pretty fun game at least in open beta
How shit your game has to be to have less players than space station 13 on fucking byond.
GAME DIED BECAUSE THE GAMEPLAY WAS SHIT
NOT BECAUSE OF THE JEW FUCKERY
>team game where everyone has a distinct role
>one half is a team, one half is solitary
>team half ruined by every role being 100% necessary but some roles being complete dogshit to play (literally NOBODY wanted to be the Trapper)
>game extremely frustrating for 80% of the playerbase because literally everyone wanted to be the monster
It was doomed from the beginning.
blunderborn is next
Overwatch will join in soon.
Or maybe not, Blizzdrones will keep playing anything Blizzard makes.
