Eh it's alright not as good as Dark souls 2 but decent
anger
Best atmosphere, next to BB
hardest souls because of how fucked up the rolling is
firestorm
Tower of Latria is the best Souls stage. Enjoy it.
B8
Being a manlet, apparently.
you're in for Soul of the mind, key to life's ether
Soul of the mind, key to life's ether

Why are you wearing shoes indoors?

You're spookin me out m8. I'm laying on a couch adjacent to the tv
No one is supposed to be in the reflection
If you haven't played Dark Souls or any of that related shit and this is new to you, it'll be difficult yet awesome.
Make sure your roll is not overburdened by armor. You want to roll quickly in this game as armor basically protects from nothing.
An unrefined but still enjoyable game that set down some solid bases for the later titles.
I clearly see a human with short pants sitting
Why are you a little child taking a picture with a 3ds?
The most fun souls game with the best atmosphere. Too bad the multiplayer is dead
F-A-G-G-O-T
that spells (you)
fell for the meme
I was surprised when I got invaded tonight.
>I got invasions within 20 minutes of playing my first time
u wot m8?
The levels are pretty hard but the bosses are mostly easy.
warding makes the game too easy.
...
Just play the game nigga
STOP IT GUYS I'M NOT SITTING THERE
...
i just bought a ps3 and got this game among others.
This
I had to get mine replaced cause my old one got stolen. Already beat ds3 a few times and had the urge to play demons
The easiest of the five Soulsborne games by a long shot. Unbalanced weapons, and the way you travel between zones makes the world feel less connected than the other games. Online is almost completely dead.
Despite all this, still a fantastic game.
>o
>caring what other people do in their house
ENHANCE
if you've played any other action games expect it to be nothing like it
when you're new to it it's gonna feel floaty as fuck like you're on ice skates. most importantly the game is going to be alot easier for you when you make sure you're able to do a fast roll. even if you have a good shield there's many cases in which dodging is your best answer because some hits may be too strong and drain your stamina or because magic damage will eat right through your shield. heavy shields can still be very useful but don't go super heavy and then try using it as your only means to protect yourself from damage
best souls game by far.
this coming from a guy who played DaS2 first
DeS is easily becoming my favorite of the whole lot.
The best souls game prior to Bloodborne.
The best Souls game by nearly every metric: atmosphere, story, boss and enemy design, gameplay is only slightly lacking compared to Dark Souls. It's a shame so many Souls "fans" are PCcucks since this game has such a unique feel to it, and since it's the game that started the series you could say it's the only "true" Souls game. Souls games now have sort of bought into their own legend, they're rife with self-referential humor and memes and much too focused on the difficulty thing (I blame the "prepare to die" marketing campaign). Demon's Souls was incredibly niche and the difficulty was a byproduct of the game, not the focus. It's also funny how having a vague, poorly explained story is considered such a staple in the series now while with DeS the story was extremely simple and explained to you quite clearly, with the background of the world being the only thing you have to find on your own.
tl;dr enjoy the game, because Souls only went downhill from there
Protips op
Crystal lizards have a limited number of respawns and they counter goes down if they escape. Be aware of this to avoid letting them get away
This game has a very easy duping glitch that can save you a lot of farming. Always dupe Pure whatever stones to save yourself the hassle
Dont die in 4-1 in human form a few times unless you wanna get wrecked by a samurai and his skeleton friend
Just had a close call with the armored spider. Kept getting me with that damn web. My war pick was dealing hella damage.
Never wear armor, that all I'm gonna say
Getting bent over by Flamelurker and seeing best souls girl
Firelurker is still the hardest boss in souls
PS4 remake when?
Where did this "Flamelurker is hard" thing start? Admittedly, Demon's Souls was the fourth game in the series I played, so I was more seasoned than most were when they first played it, at least, but surely by now no one struggles with him. Fought him early, like fifth boss, and decimated him first try. Heck, I convinced a friend of mine to try the game, and he had the same experience.
I'm not even that good at Souls games. I just didn't find a single boss in Demon's to be difficult. The entire Dark trilogy and BB still kick my ass, though.
Not even close
...
>Admittedly, Demon's Souls was the fourth game in the series I played
kys
hai guyz ima grill well no just kidding but i do has this game!
i've tried to play it for the last 5 years now and then but i can't seem to get into it! it's the only rpg style of game i've never been able to get into!
like what am i missing about this whole series you guys seem to love? are you supposed to block all of the enemy hits and just git gud?
This.
Tower of Latria was my favorite along with Shrine of Storms.
He's really not. Even without the bone trap exploit he's nowhere near as fast, aggressive, or damaging as virtually ANY boss in Dark Souls 3 and the fastroll in Demon's Souls has so many i-frames that the entire fight can basically boil down to just rolling towards him through any of his attacks and counterattacking.
Not only that but the Demons Souls bosses flinch when you hit them so getting multiple hits in is easier
go back to Sup Forums
20 fps, sadly.
Honestly OP, you're going to get a lot of fan-wanking over this game, so I'll just save you the trouble of knowing that if you've played any Souls game before this one, you'll essentially come across the same gimmicks From always puts in their games, such as the first level of the game being a Castle stage with soulless/hollowed soldiers that get progressively stronger as you carry on through the area.
Bosses for the most part are pretty easy and killable on first tries, except for some random spikes in difficulties. Heavy armour is completely worthless since there's no poise in this game, so you'll be staggered by everything even if you're wearing the heaviest of shit.
that's where i'm at though!
These. I have nothing against DeS, but if I made a list of the top 20 hardest SoulsBorne bosses, even discounting Chalice Dungeons, I wouldn't put a single DeS boss on it.
clean the fucking dust from your stand
SoA being the cock suckers they are we would only get it digitally, kind like The Old Hunters edition of BB
nice b8 boya
You wouldn't put Maneaters on that list? Without the fog door bow glitch I think that is a really tough fight, even for a vet. There is so much that can go wrong on those tiny platforms. Their charge attack is so unforgiving if it catches you. Then two attack you and the game is on.
The final boss of the Latria area doesn't even have a difficulty, since it could be an enemy player.
Penetrator can also be very tough if you didn't free the knight for him to help you later in the fight.
Allant can also be tough depending on your play style. Obviously there were ways to cheese, like the poison cloud. That kind of cheesing is in every Souls game though.
Penetrator and False King I might put in top 25. I've never struggled with Maneaters, though, and since I got into the game for the first time so late, I've never actually been invaded for Old Monk.
The worst souls game.
Why did the penetrator sword have to suck so much? I was so excited to get to use it.
>kys
Why can't you facebook kids just say kill yourself. Fuck off
To be fair though, Demon's Souls has a very old fashioned mentality when it comes to bosses. A good portion of them are very gimmicky and focused on shit like weak points and using the stage to your advantage whereas as the series has progressed the majority of bosses have become more straightforward. That's part of the reason people used to think bosses like Flamelurker, Maneaters, and Old King Allant were so hard before the other Souls games came out. They're the only ones that are designed like the majority of bosses later in the series, where it's just a straight up fight against a strong and fast enemy.
this >the difficulty was a byproduct of the game
very important detail, this. people always say des bosses (and sometimes des in general) are too easy but they're entirely missing the point.
definitely the souls game with the most focused, purposeful design. wonderfully concise and yet expansive. very atmospheric, i would say much more so than any of the following games. if you've played the other souls games it may be harder to appreciate however, because the controls and the very basics of gameplay have improved from des. though i've had friends who played dark first and still liked demon's more.
have fun
Why does that trigger you?
Maneaters is tough but once you figure out the trick to splitting them up it's not so bad. Played DeS as my first souls game last year and I mostly didn't look anything up for the first playthrough. I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer but Maneaters were just perfectly challenging. Flamefucker, on the other hand, is fucking bullshit. Fuck that guy.
He's pretty dangerous to lower skill players because the openings to hit him isn't very obvious.
This is also assuming you are doing a melee build as well.
He was a huge wall to people new to Demon's Souls.
>Where did this "Flamelurker is hard" thing start? Admittedly, Demon's Souls was the fourth game in the series I played
literally answered your own question, senpai
DeS is not that hard compared to DaS
I'd put Maneaters on there just for the enviroment and horrible 4-way rolling you have to deal with.
But other than that every other difficult Boss has a harder version of the same archetype in a later game.
Abhorrant Beast is Flamelurker 2.0, Allant is beaten by stuff like Logarious and Pontiff Sullyvahn. I never found Penetrator hard at all, even without Bior, and there's plenty of "Big Knight with weapon" style bosses that are harder than him.
4-2 (without thief ring) and 5-2 ars some the hardest areas in Souls games though. That island in the swamp with 4 Giant Deprived ones is pure bullshit, not to mention fast-rolling Black Phantom NPC while you can't even move properly.
whats the best pure str weapon in demons souls
or DaS2, DaS3, Bloodborne
honestly you really have to try to make DeS challenging, practically have to look up a guide on everything broken to avoid it
>or DaS2, DaS3, Bloodborne
I thought that was implied
DeS is challenging when you play it as your first Souls game and don't use queer ass magic.
or STR weapons
or 2kat
or crescent falchion
or black turpentine
or steel shield / purple flame shield
or thief ring
or a bow
or second chance
or ___ rat rings
etc
Yeah, I always thought the general consensus was Demon's Souls has the easiest bosses but some of the hardest stages. No checkpoint system like the Dark series has with bonfires makes the stages long too, 3-2 may be pretty easy but dear fuck is it long if you're going through it blind.
Garl Vinlands big fucking hammer.
Or Dragon Bone Smasher.
Or whatever you want with a Crushing upgrade path.
I remember when I first fought Flamelurker and it took me two weeks to beat him. I ended up getting frustrated so I cheesed him by playing ring-around the dragon skeleton. I didn't get to fight him fair and square until New Game +
>trying to find the sword for that weeaboo guy's quest
>finally find it
>give it to him
>he immediately tries to kill me with it
wow what an asshole.
we get it m8, ur hardcore
but really for the average gamer if you go in blind it's much more challenging than most games that had come out before it. I think I played 1-1 for more time than any other area just to acclimate and then the rest of the game was pretty quick. Still a great game and people that focus on the difficulty of Souls games in general are 2cool4u fags that probably gloat over achievements in vidya and gay shit like that.
Bloodborne has the same system, a lamp at the beginning and nothing until you beat the boss (except for 1 or 2 areas which gave you an extra lamp). But Bloodborne was a bit more generous with shortcuts, every level had at least 1, wheras DeS sometimes had no shortcuts at all (fucking 4-2 and 5-1) which meant dying to the boss meant doing the whole level again, which just gets tedious.
I know someone who missed the second elevator in Forbidden Woods in Bloodborne, so every time they died to the Shadows of Yharnam they had to run the entirety of the snake infested forest again.
i'm just saying that the difficulty of Demon's Souls is only there if you self impose it by restraining yourself from using any of those
if you're paying attention to what the game gives you, nothing about it is challenging
and a blind player is going to end up getting something broken since nearly everything in DeS is broken, then cheese through the game
merely using a bow is enough to destroy the game
the series in general isn't really hard outside of depth 5 chalice dungeons, anyway
>people that focus on the difficulty of Souls games in general are 2cool4u fags that probably gloat over achievements in vidya
This is 90% of the Souls fanbase now. Blame Yahtzee and other reviewers who sperged out over how hard Demon's Souls was and how ebinly hardcore beating it makes you instead of just focusing on how cool and unique the game is.
I blame Namco's marketing. Everything about it is just "you will die" "are you HARDCORE enough to eat spicy chicken wings?" Etc...
At least Sony had the restraint to market Bloodborne based off its atmosphere and fancy combat with Trick Weapons.
>Online is almost completely dead.
Servers are shut down so it is dead.
No they arnt.
At least the EU version is still working as of a week ago.
>playing any souls game for the pvp
>normie scum enjoy endless hackers and getting hit from sword attacks 3 feet away from you
greatness, enjoy
They're still up though. I got summoned twice and invaded once today
>What am I in for?
on balance, the best 'Souls' experience and one that will leave that empty feeling in your soul after you play the subsequent iterations and spin-offs in the franchise
so I just beat armor spider by killing him before he kills me all while being stuck in spider webs, what's the proper way to do this guy?
also the next area is kicking my ass
went to the tower for a scenery change and all I got was some guys from Bloodborne and ended up not progressing anywhere
fun game which I have more grass
Got it some time ago on a sale for like 8 bucks.
Just deciding to play this again after not touching it from character select. Game is a lot harder than DaS or DaS2 from the start. I'm just now getting to the Armored Knight and he pushed my shit in 2 times with shockwaves.
Also fuck this dragon, the interval between the fire breath is just enough to make it across.
The Nexus is comfy as fuck and atmosphere is as good if not better than DaS1.
Strange, before I could connect and now I keep getting the "cannot connect to server" thing
might be something with my wifi, I don't remember if I changed my router before or after using my ps3 sometime
two-hand a purple flame shield, rush up close, then hit him until he dies, rolling though the three-part combo of swipes it does
run away any time it starts turning into a furnace or you die
or just use a bow and stand in the far left corner, it can't touch you
>not as good as Dark souls 2
kek
how the fuck do I into magic
I only played bloodborne I have no idea what I'm doing
Don't go foward without sticky white stuff
you can stop now
I could connect 2 hours ago, which surprised me because the last time I played a couple of years ago there were talk of shutting the servers down.
Can't see shit captain
Why is MiB so cute?
