from attempting to speedrun this game, the only parts I hate are the RNG lasers in Mission 4's boss, the spider bots in Mission 5, and the RNG bullets during the final boss. Otherwise, it's perfect.

No, seriously. You have to taint your playthrough with Fio or a male. It's fucking horrible.

Mission 5 should've been two separate missions.
Mission 2's bosses are in the wrong order.

coincidentally, I watched a MS3 TAS today while I was working, the last boss bullets can be avoided by having any weapon besides pistol

No. Half the reason it's so great is because you don't expect it to get as crazy as it does. If it wasn't introduced as the final mission, you would know there was still another stage and blasting off to space wouldn't have as much impact. This is especially true if you played 2/X beforehand.

Yeah, and metal slug is fun because of the movement

when you're just flying around the screen in a plane/boat/spaceship this tight movement is replaced by generic loose feeling movement and it drags the whole game down, especially since all these segments replace the engaging and quick to kill enemies with damage sponges that require you to dodge the same pattern of attacks over and over

5's final mission is like second best in the series

The later levels are just token takers with bullet sponge enemies. You have to hit the shoot button literally 10k+ times in the course of a game.

It's way too easy to hit jump and shoot at the same time and accidentally suicide your tank or camel or whatever.

I can do the first 1 through 4 (minus the final boss) missions just fine. But the final mission just fucks me up.
