chosen undead wins because they have in-universe unlimited tries

monster hunter gets "knocked out" and carried away back to town, but chosen undead actually rewinds time, meaning their losses get erased from existence

Monster Hunter

Hunters are far tankier and with far more ridiculous gear/movesets than any Dark Souls character. Not to mention they literally never die even after being chewed on by dinosaurs, and are completely immune to things like fall damage that wreck Souls characters.

Not to mention no matter how heavy their weapon they are still fully dexterous when it's sheathed

>arguing immortality as 'winning' a fight

You're an idiot.

Undead has i-frames.

Chosen Undead takes fall damage.
Hunter doesn't.

immortality IS winning the fight when the opponent is a regular, mortal human

even if Chosen Undead loses once they can get back up and hurl themselves at the Hunter until they win

Hunter grabs undead and jumps of a cliff

Well Monster Hunters aren't regular mortal humans, they can take anything and survive, only needing to be carted away. Not only that but they're completely immune to fall damage and they can block any attack. :^)

Monster Hunter
on the other hand, Good Hunter would win against MH

because of chosen undead's time fuckery the hunter will never remember any time they win though

they'll always remember the chosen undead as this fucker with a frog's face and pink skin that did frontflips through their slow sword attacks and ran them through with an oversized katana, forcing them to be carted back to town

even if the hunter wins, time is rewound and the hunter will never know it

Seriously, what warrants the two series being compared to each other all the time?

so every time chosen undead wins, hunter simply gets carted to town
and every time hunter wins, chosen undead runs away like a bitch
monster hunter wins baby

>moves like molasses
>fights oversized monsters
>terrible monster designs

The fun in both games comes from the boss fights, and both games involve memorizing your opponents patterns and responding accordingly over the course of a LONG fight.

>terrible monster designs
Shit taste. I'd like to hear a series you think has good designs, because those 2 are GOAT.

Both lose to an ARKS

So does the Hunter, nubcake.

I think the real question is who would win with only 1 life? The Hunter or The Chosen Undead?
Personally I'm gonna with The Hunter

>chosen undead does anything
>gets shot

If it's a fashion contest Chosen Undead wins every time

then again so does pretty much everyone

>losing in a fashion contest

Hunter has killed numerous elder gods. Gwyn and Aldrich may be gods but dark souls uses the term "god" lightly.

Early game, assuming 1 life with no continues, I'll give it to the Monster Hunter. Even early-game monster hunter weapons have great movesets that would be hard for an early-game chosen undead to deal with.

Late game, I'll give it to the Undead. By that point the undead has killed several gods and has a lot of tricks hidden away in their inventory. Late-game Monster Hunters would have a lot of healing supplies, but using health items in monster hunter takes way longer than taking a quick sippy in Dark Souls.

Basically the Monster Hunter can have as many healing potions as he wants and can have the strongest greatsword ever, as long as the Chosen Undead has the option to be a sneaky, underhanded bastard the CU will always win.

>one fights oversized animals
>the other fights ancient Gods

gee

>hunter parries Undead from a distance.
>hunter can parry Undead's chugging.

I'm pretty sure many Elder Dragons are of "god" status as well. Just look at Dalamadur or Gogmazios, and the attacks they're capable of (giant explosive energy beam, calling down meteors, Dalamadur's bursts of agility). And each one of them is considered a threat to humanity, which is probably why they must be killed.

The Monster Hunter just looks like another boss to me. He'd probably fight something like an over aggressive cross between a black knight and Artorias.

If we disregard the whole "immortality and carted off" video game tropes, I'd say that Chosen Undead has the better chance of winning. CU has sorceries/miracles/pyromancies/hexes at his disposal, not to mention all sorts of strange weapons and abilities (parry and riposte comes to mind) that the MH just doesn't have.

Fuck off autist.

I wanna say Chosen Undead. Hunter's probably a good deal stronger, but he doesn't have the experience CU has against humanoid/human-sized targets, and isn't able to parry, at least not nearly as effectively. CU may also have Magic or Pyromancy at his disposal to provide more of a challenge, and lastly he can equip three sets of weapons at once.

That said, I'm not sure if anything in Dark Souls comes close to how strong MH's armor is. Dragon scales in DaS are said to be incredibly strong, and Hunter wears the hides of dragons many times more powerful than anything in DaS.

I like this matchup, makes me think.

Only to level 75 Hunter

...

MH wins because his games are better

How come when you attack an NPC on dark souls he will still be aggressive to you even after you die?

>that wreck souls characters
>souls characters are all literally immortals

Monster Hunter wins.

Hunters never die, they just get dizzy and land in a kitty cart.

Take away the inmortality and carting

Probably just a skill matchup, but i think a good monster hunter would beat a good CU any day.

>Hunter
My nigga.

Is there a player-character from a game like this that could beat an ARKS? Shit like Over End and Wired Lance grapples and gear-boosted moves would be really hard to deal with, along with being super-agile. Agreed it's an unfair advantage being far into the future.

Hunter wins.

Chosen undead has never even seen anything like Dalamdur.

You didn't think this one through, did you?

The chosen undead never "dies" either.

chosen undead has more i-frames and bullshit spells

mh has a lot of tools at his disposal though. Traps, bombs, plenty of healing, can gather even more healing items while in the arena.

evasion 3+ evade extender lance hunter literally cant be hurt
