It died because its shit
Not enough gritty hyperrelistic military grey & brown.
Wipeout>Shitzero.
normies don't like shit they don't understand
"like why don't they just race in car with gas like normal people dooo lol"
uhh there are several ones coming out and several that came out recently
...
I mean, why not just post with a name that says 'I'm bad at video games and have idiotic opinions'
It'd be a lot simpler for everyone else reading through this thread, when you've accomplished the same message with your post
Fucking Sony close down liverpool, and fuck Nintendo for not giving us a new FZero
It's not realistic, so nobody is interested.
Pray tell sirrah! What games cometh hence?
you mean because GT babbies like you were shit at it.
faggots like future racers because they're gay
F-Zero GX is apparently the future racer at it's perfection. I think it can go even further beyond.
Not him but, there's Distance, i love that game
Sony decided that there's just too much game play for sonyggers to handle, better make more cinematic experiences instead
...
That will be in beta forever and I hate it so much
...
I miss this series.
WHAT GAME? I distinctly remember playing a racing game where you rode on vehicles that were robot humans on one of those playstation 2 demo disc.
played a demo of this and it sucked
...
a bit barebones but it's fun as fuck
...
Kinetica was awesome. I miss that game. Seay robot racing butts
I think it just came out on the PS4 Playstation Store today/yesterday.
FZERO GX is an amazing game and I think everyone should try it
Just posting this here for WipEout fans.
I played the PS3 Wipe Out that Sony gave for free after their hacking fiasco; I could never get into it though. But the narrator had a very sexy voice.
> first game to use the Kinetica game engine >would later be used for God of War and God of War II.
How do I win at GX? I just can't get good like I did with X.
learn momentum throttling and momentum turbo slides
I played the shit out of this game as a kid
Because GX is so perfect there really isn't anything else you can do.
Just look at fast racing neo, 10 years later and they couldn't even come close to making a better game when they tried so hard to copy it.
...
The fuck are thoooooose
Is this gonna be 2008 me trying to learn Melee tech all over again?
Wipeout is superior to F-Zero.
it's not complicated to learn, just difficult to implement
momentum throttling is essentially releasing the A button when you're boosting above your vehicles normal speed
the idea is that if you hold A the game actually decelerates you towards the vehicle's top speed faster than if you werern't holding it, so you maintain your speed for a longer period of time
i can tell you how to MTS but i don't really understand the logic behind it, and you're better off googling videos
basically you hold both shoulders buttons as you start your turn, then release the A button and the shoulder button of the direction you're turning and you turn really sharp and get a huge speed boost
so if you're turning left go from (A+left+L+R) to (left+R)
i think the idea is that side strafing has no max speed so you're taking the turn going kinda sideways and getting that bonus
the first few turns of this are a good example of MTS
youtube.com
also hit boost plates on the edge for a larger speed boost
Thanks guys appreciate it. Maybe if I git gud enough I can beat those fucking hard and very hard story missions
YOU GOT BOOST POWER!
Isn't there Fast Racing Neo?
wipe out suck
uhhhh wowww racing around a tube now i dont have to worry about turning the one thing you do in a racing game woooow this owns
Because they all went the F-Zero route of racing on a singular track through the alien world. This made it feel like it didn't really matter what stage you were on. All the tracks are the same, just different backdrops.
However Star Wars Podracer (64) got it right by making you race through the actual environment of the world itself. Each stage had a certain feel to it, the difference in the levels felt more dynamic.
I wish someone would make a game like Pod racer with online matchmaking like similar to Trackmania. I also want to be able to create and customise my own Podracer and possibly have racing teams like they do in "real" podracing.
>racing game with no weapons and you dont actually race anyone
bet you fucking love trackmania
Too fast for itty bitty babys.
I'd say HoverAce was a lot like that with its tracks. But I can't say it had that great sense of speed.
At least try and shitpost about the game you want to berate, that line was about Ballistics.
Fuck future racers. What about Car Combat?
Right here.
The future is here and in the end there was no flying cars, just touch-screen cell phones and social media.
>Online is dead
>Gutted the series trademark sense of humor and multiple characters.
desu i dont bother w/ racing games unless its got weapons or a focus on also beating up the other races cause normal racing games are fucking boring
i found an arcade that had this machine; it was amazing
Car combat died around 2000, which sucks because it was a really interesting genre
Circus Circus has it in Vegas. It's a shame they treat their arcade like garbage.
GX killed it.
It was so good no one else even bothered trying.
arcades in general are like this, i think only in places like japan where the scene is alive the arcade has any kind of respect. the last time i walked into one i was stood up on a date and the place was more depressed then me
Me and my friend used to rent this game every weekend at Blockbuster. It was fucking fun.
There are some well-maintained arcades around but usually they're either relatively small or a barcade like Dave and Buster's.
Nintendo doesn't know what the fuck to do with F-Zero
Studio Liverpool died so no more Wipeout, other options aren't quite there yet
I bought that Fast Neo Racing that recently came out on the Wii U eShop. It was fun for a minute but I find it severely lacking compared to, yes, of course, GX.
So fucking hard to finish a lap without crashing into obstacles or disconnecting from the tube wall
Collecting orbs is more annoying than running over the pink too, on top of nearly every track having some kind of obligatory stage hazard.
It's also harder to gauge which vehicles are actually worth a shit
Theres a new Carmageddon out.
>Not playing Riff Racer or PolyRace.
PLEB
Only Americans like them
It has a lot of potential. Honestly If I were Nintendo I would scout the developers for a new F-Zero.
Besides if F-Zero was brought back it would be slowed down for casuals.
And Australians if Mad Max is any indication.
>No F-Zero X re-release with the expansion kit features
>Hard metal shredding racing
>No floaty shit
>Sharp drifting
>High Speed
>Amazing feeling of movement
>Music is great and evolves in intensity on the final lap
>Thrilling challenge
>Your energy is traded for speed
>Kill rivals in the race to stop them from earning points
>Constant 60fps and Induces the player with so much stimulation they enter a zone state.
>Brilliant Backgrounds and Track designs and great world building for the wacky superhero characters if youre into that shit.
Why was GX so perfect?
FOREVER HE WILL BE MY HERO!
youtube.com
Blast Processing
If I remember correctly there was actually quite a bit of worldbuilding in GX.
I WANT YOU TO FEEEEL THEEE PRESSSSUUUREEEEEEE
youtube.com
You mean faux-realistic. Hitscan weapons, auto healing, etc etc.
RIP Amusement Vision
Super Monkey Ball was rad too.
WINNING MAKES ME FEEL SO ALIVE!
IT NEEDS INNOVASHUNNU
GAMEPAD REQUIRED!
Still in alpha
youtube.com
Everyone just kept playing GX forever.
dead
do not shitpost in an ag racing thread i swear to god i have waited so long for one of these
youtube.com
I remember loving this game as a kid. And the show.
You should read up on the insane shit they had to do to make jet moto 3, guy basically has the game rewrite the system architecture every time you turn it on.
game is arse though
I wanted to make webms of it but I just couldn't bring my self to do it, the physics are horribly floaty and unlike jet moto 2 which tight if not a bit clunky at first
yfw Emperor Breath kicks in with that Riff progression at 1:09 and youre boosting high speed miles in front of Deathborne and the particles are bursting towards your face at breakneck velocities
youtube.com
GX was the magnum opus of Speed Racing games.
desu, the gamepad could be useful for an editing system.
>more depth to machine customization
>Spore-esque pilot editor
>better emblem editor
>track editor
>being able to record dialog for F-zero TV segments
>No Redline game.
youtube.com
...
I was actually poking fun at Miyamoto's solution for innovation is make it require moving the gamepad's gyroscope.
Which I hate.
youtube.com
>there is a human who can do this
I want a crossover game of F-Zero and Redline.
>another rollercoaster simulator
>Fast Racing Neo's patch to fix it's busted ass online and map exploits is finally fucking coming out tomorrow.
Too bad it was supposed to be out in January and it's taken so long that the game is completely fucking dead online because it's an indie game that crashes your console every ten minutes when playing online against people who can finish three laps in 1 minute and a half because there's exploits in every single map.
This game makes me angry because of how it's broken release killed what could have been a great online racing experience completely.
I love playing it but fuck Shin'en for not bugtesting properly.
Although if they don't fix not being able to freely select levels in local multiplayer, I am never buying another product from them again. There is no literally no reason why players should not be allowed to freely select levels in local multiplayer and are instead restricted to the same cups. This shit is a basic function in the genre.
I know,it's just that I've always fantasize about how an F-zero game could work on Wii U. Sometimes I wonder if Nintendo even realizes the full potential of the gamepad.
too slow
Not everything needs a new control scheme. And this is coming from a guy who liked Star Fox Zero.
I don't care about any of you G-memes.
I miss Wipeout.
