Looks like a pile of shit with a predictable storyline. Predict 12% on rottentomatoes.

Could have made a full movie about the lich king or even better yet, illidan...and it would tie in with legion. both would be WAY more interesting

I skipped over warcraft 3 as a teen because I hated early 3d rts games.

I never played WoW because my internet was too primitive and australian back when I was even remotely interested.

90% hyped.

Really excited! My wife's son is really looking forward to it.

Not in the slightest. It looks like it's butchering the lore even more than WoW

I still can't quite believe it exists. That somebody actually thought it was a good enough idea to let it be made and then actually release it.

I've never played the game and I can tell that they're going to butcher every piece of lore or storytelling that was present in the game to try to appeal to an audience that really has no interest in seeing it

>starting a story in the middle

good idea

There are so many story arcs in Warcraft that would've been far more interesting than this retcon filled abortion. A little bit hyped.

>butchering the lore even more than WoW
>WoW is the lore and has been for the past 10 years

Is fucking mudshit propaganda. The Angry Birds movie is the only true based vidyakino.

The CGI also looks like shit

>assuming there will ever be a sequel

IT would be a great idea to start in the middle. 90% of people seeing this movie have played WoW sometime in their lives.

It can be a story of Arthas, no previous warcraft knowledge would be needed.

about 15% hype. I like the Vikings guy, and it seems like they'll be some cool moments.

Wife is 90%, though. She's not even into Warcraft/WoW or anything, she just like fantasy shit.

I want it to be secretly good and not like the generic mess that I see in every trailer.

It may as well have "By the producers who saw The Hobbit" in its advertisement poster.

woah...

that looks real

no

realer than REAL LIFE

That isn't hard at all. You just focus on characters and then build upon them rather than focusing on the environment or previous stories, is this your first Fantasy story or something?

I'm hyped for this fucking shit to bomb and die with metzen sjw fanfiction tier

May as well start LOTR at Return of the King.

It would be a shit idea and you know it, if you want to get invested in Warcraft lore, you need to start from the beginning, anything else is a sloppy cash in.

I don't care how good the story is, this movie is going to look like utter shit in 5 years. It'll be like Max Steel-tier CGI

Me and my blizztard friends would have loved one in the SC-WC3 days because those FMVs were the shit. So hype was at 0% when they used human actors instead of CGI.

But LotR was after the hobbit anyways.

The story they're adapting doesn't have that much to butcher, really.

Warcraft I is about as straightforward as you can get, barring the twist at the end that the orcs win.

I mean it seriously boils down to fantasy monsters invade, humans fight back, humans lose, things lead into sequel.

They seem to be establishing, with the movie, that not all the orcs are evil, which is a plot point a lot later, and is probably the main hook that differentiates this from shit like LoTR.

0.

looks terrible but im probably going to watch it anyway

Return of the King is part of 3 main story that were divided into multiple arc.
The trilogy is essentially a single adventure.

Also, LotR trilogy were also heavily based on an established lore and characters long before the adventure even start.

I'm not. I stopped playing at warcraft 3.

It seriously looks like fucking trash and I'm sure it's going to bomb

LOTR's storyline and warcraft's story arent similarly structured at all. Do you really need to see how stormwind was built? or can you just be like oh cool an alliance city.

It'd be like starting spider man on spiderman 2. Noone would care. we all know how it happened.

There hasn't been a single western PG-13 animated movie that's been a success.

It just doesn't jive with audiences. You can have 90% CG, like with Avatar, but there have to be humans for people to go.

...

>that CGI
I only played WoW vanilla and their opening cutscene that introed each race looked a million times better than that.

How many years ago was that?

Step it up Hollywood.

I think you vastly overestimate people's knowledge with the series, and their reason for seeing it.

WoW was, at a time, really fucking popular, but not popular enough for people to just know shit well enough to net in box office worldwild.

So you're telling me you can introduce the entire Warcraft universe, give a proper background to all the major players in WC3, and then flesh out a proper story arc in ~2 hours?

kek

Not at all, and this is coming from someone who played all the Warcraft RTS games and then WoW for 10 years.

Why did the use the tried and tested surefire way to make your movie bomb and add human actors?

Where they seriously afraid that their movie would be labelled a cg cartoon for kids?

Is Hollywood that fucking afraid of FULLY animated films for an older audience?

WHEN WILL THEY STOP RAPING WARCRAFT

The CGI and the sets look like a fan film, the acting from the trailers is lel but Warcraft wasn't really a well acted masterpiece.
I expect nothing.

Give the manpower and cost to produce a single 5 minute cinematic of blizzard quality, coupled with how hard other pure CG movies have tanked in the past, who is going to take the chance?

Remember what happened before?

Not at all.

I don't want any more "Orcs didn du nuffin". Orcs are suposed to be enraged monsters, not space niggers.

>Why did the use the tried and tested surefire way to make your movie bomb and add human actors?

How the fuck is that the "tried and tested" method of making something bomb?

Seriously, name a blockbuster PG-13 animated film.

It doesn't exist.

Anyone else in here hyped way more for the hope it'll bomb massively, and for the shitstorm that will follow after it?

Please, give me a new tortanic. I need it, I need it so bad.

you dont seem to get what the movie's true purpose is. the movies PENULTIMATE objective is to educate even the simplest man on the Lore of Warcraft starting with the war that started it all giving even the most normal a person an Idea of why people play WoW and hoping they would understand enough to finally play WoW too.

The movie is basically an Glorified add aimed to bring the last remaining people that dont know shit about Warcraft.

It's going to return us to the glory days when vidya movies weren't simply mediocre and forgettable, but back to when they were magnificent train-wrecks of awful. I'm talking Super Mario Brothers and Double Dragon levels of garbage.

I knew this from the second I saw the "hot orc".

The autistic production design before that didn't help.

I mean, holy shit, did they have a 12 year old do the story board and art designs for this?

Uwe Boll is secretly behind this

aren't they selling WoD with a purchase of a ticket, too?

Sup Forums didn't used to be such hate addicts. I loved the whole tortanic fiasco, but I hate what it turned this board into.

That's what happens when you dump all your time, money and effort into the CGI and nothing else.

>I mean, holy shit, did they have a 12 year old do the story board and art designs for this?

They're trying to be faithful to Warcraft's art direction.

Do you know how the game's look?

Haha, funny man, OP.

Not even remotely. Would though.

Dude. Fucking Ben Foster is playing Medivh. The kid from "Get Over It" and Pandorum.

How do you miscast a movie this badly?

>we'll never go back to the pre WoW Blizzard Entertainment
As much as I enjoyed WoW when it came out, it ruined that company and the entire market

Yup I'am pretty sure they're also giving people a free month or two until Legion although dont quote me on that it doesn't say if they're gonna give you free time.

worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/promotions/movie

>Movie ends after Gul'dan is killed.
>Credits start.
>OH SHIT mid-credits scene.
>Archimonde wanders into a vault and picks up the Infinity Gauntlet.
>"Fine. I'll do it myself."

Blizzard wants to get in on that capeshit cashcow.

Every day I wake up hoping that everything blizzard has since 2009 has just been a horrible prolonged fever dream and every single day I am disappointed that the disease hasn't claimed me yet.

WE WUZ ORKS AND SHIEEET!

>You killed your planet so that means it's okay to go to another one and kill their people

Fucking orcs.

Warcraft's story is pretty much capeshit.

They are already doing that, otherwise they'd start with Ordering of Azeroth.

They're starting with Warcraft I, not with pointless lore fluff.

They're trying to sell the essential of the franchise, and that always wil l be orcs vs humans.

Do you know if its global or just US?

>Racist human knight is the one of main antagonists
;_;

No Sylvanas, no watch

>Blizzard 2009.

>WotLK WoW. (Okay, that's fine I guess. I prefer TBC.)
>Starcraft 2 not out, still time to keep them from making that mistake.
>Diablo 3 in the early stages, still room to make it, y'know, actually good.
>Blizzard hasn't gone full retard yet, and is still open to the idea of making games based on older properties/spin-offs of existing properties. (Blackthorne, Rock & Roll Racing, Starcraft: Ghost)
>LoL and HoN haven't launched yet, meaning there's still time to stop the fucking hideous monstrosity that is the over-saturated MOBA market.

... Lets make a time machine, Sup Forums.

>Normies watch the movie expecting the humans to win since LOTR had them win.
>King Llane Wrynn gets his ass stabbed by Garrona
>Movie ends with Stormwind falling and the Humans retreating
>Normies minds are fucking blown that the bad guys actually win and gets them hooked.

and thats how you hook a sucker.

Blizzard doesn't have the balls to do an ending like that.

Mark my words, this will radically change Warcraft 1 as we know it. Screencap this if you want.

humans lost in Avatar

Orcs will be the good guys while the humans are evil

click the partners page.

For the US its Regal Cinemas.

>racist asshole human and racist asshole orc are main antagonists
>open minded orc and human are protagonists

seems okay to me

The trailers show the humans as the protagonists and the orcs as evil, barring a group of good orcs who also want to stop the bad orcs.

There were high elves in the trailer, maybe she'll have a cameo.

>Orcs
>Bad guys

They a proud warrior race
They dindu nuffin
Need mo planets for they war crimes

>all this dindu spam

at least watch the trailers jesus

David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones

is
a
disgrace

what will Sup Forums do when the movie is good?

He made best sci fi movie of the last decade

>Moon
>Good

(you)

moon was ass

>brazil only
Of all the countries in latin america they picked the one that isn't in latin america
I guess ill just buy it from a reseller on amazon

>Blizzard doesn't have the balls to do an ending like that
>In one of the trailers you see Draka send baby Thrall down the river to protect him from something
>Then she turns around with a scared sorrowful look and assumedly meets her end.

Yeah nah death is a HUGE theme in Warcraft to say there wont be any key characters dying is foolish.

>In one of the trailers you see Draka send baby Thrall down the river to protect him from something
>Thrall parents will survive this movie and just never wanted to raise kids
It's their culture, shitlord!

Where are you based dog ?

How far did the orcs get before they lost?
Anyone got a map or something?

They were about to sack Lordaeron.

Beaner country, i was hoping that mexico would get the promotion because there's a bunch of hardcore WoW fans

Between Dalaran and Lordaeron

I'm excited for the gay orc porn surely to follow.

This, why doesn't Blizzard make their own movie? Instead of paying some big movie studio who's never seen a video game in their life to do it. They clearly have the talent.

Because while there 5 minute shorts are really good, it takes them 6-8 months to make just those 5 minutes.

By looking at that image, I see a SJW of 'Orc lives matters' movie?

Expensive and time consuming.

*their

Fuck, I'm tired

T-they were only corrupted by demons(Whitey)

I'm ready to shitpost on Sup Forums about how it's kino

Ah sorry to hear that I would of have thought Cinemex would have jumped at the chance at a partnership.

as a Mexican american I feel infinitely sorry for you

At least they fixed pauldrons and now they actually wow style

Is that supposed to be Uther?

I would have been fucking fine with a KT sitcom desu senpai baka at this cgeneric metzenwank.

10% on RT is too good for it.

Spirits Within would have tanked even with a competent screenplay. People didn't want to see it not because it was a bad movie, but because they perceived it to be for children

That's king Llane m8.
