Dishonored got some ingame screenshots

Dishonored got some ingame screenshots.

...

...

...

Fuck me, the textures are so insanely detailed and sharp that it actually looks noisy.

Still, top notch art direction.

...

...

...

I don't like how foggy these screenshots look.
Maybe foggy isn't the right word, but it just doesn't look very clear.

>finally got that promotion after what happened last night

...

truly looks next gen, cant wait

It's growing on me, the saturation makes it look scorching in contrast to the murky Dunwall. Basically Dishonored: Africa.

BRING BACK DAUD

I'm excited. Dishonored was easily in my top 10 of last generation. That party level, for example, was pure genius and really rivaled the original thieves game in terms of level design.

>"In Dishonored 2, the citizens of Karnaca will react differently depending on whether you chose to play as Korvo, the protagonist of the original Dishonored, or the newly playable Emily Kaldwin, the rightful heir to the throne of the isles."

Fucking GOAT.

It looks like they're experiencing dust storms in that screenshot.

>open water
>with Dishonored Whales
I'm already terrified

Shall we gather for whiskeys and cigars tonight?

Indeed, I think so.

>Whaling

oh Fuggg

Is anybody else bothered by the fact the graphics are not longer cartoonish? One of the reasons I liked the first game was because of the art direction, these new realistic graphics kill all the charm of the series for me.

>realistic

they're definitely still in the old style.

Still the old style, just higher res and better textures.

>not a bullshot.jpg

Don't worry, the endgame won't look anything like this.

Is this your first time seeing prerlease screenshots?

Dishonored 1 looked the same as prerelease.

Threadly reminder that Corvo is now voiced by Stephen Russell. Aka the voice of Garrett from thief.

Brace for GOTY

Still, as much as I hate Bethesda, they never really release bullshots to be honest.

Wut.

Do you not remember New Order and its NEXT NEXT GEN STREAMING TEXTURES THIS IS THE FUTURE that ended up taking 50Gb of space while also literally looking like a PS2 game?

silently wishing for lovecraftian underwater horrors thatll keep me from playing the game

it's a mix of both.

developed by Arkane, not Bethesda.

>people being hyped by this
>while shitting on Uncharted
Wow, hipsterism at its finest

Yeah and who do you think handle the marketing, genius?

He's confirmed alive.

Irrelevant. Go anywhere else.

Are you even trying?

But there is more in Dishonored than just press X to next cutscene

Didn't the guy who did artwork for Half Life 2 also do the artwork for the original Dishonored?

Always saw similarity between the world of dishonored and City 17.

>Corvo got his already hax abilities upgraded
>Emily gets some lame voodoo shit, mostly suited for non-lethal
Who the hell is going to even waste time on her?

Me because I'll play non-lethal?

Too bad the first game was boring and repetitive.

Me. She looks fun.

fags who claim they dont wanna stare at a mans ass

aww shit.
What other voicework has that guy done?

So what was the story of dishonored

I never bothered to play it because people said it was super short but from what I heard the gameplay was pretty damn fun

Nah, it doesn't look like too good to be true kind the way these pre-release screenshots look. Like someone pointed out in earlier thread I think it just shows how much they were held back by last gen hardware in the original.

It was as repetitive as you yourself wanted it to be. You could go fucking nuts with the abilities, and there were shitloads of different ways to proceed though the different levels.

People who aren't aware that Corvo is being voiced by Stephen Russell

>Threadly reminder that Corvo is now voiced by Stephen Russell.

Thank fuck they learned that silent protags in these kind of games is dumb.

Thank God they understand multiplayer has no place in games like these.

>all that irrelevant shit
Do you know what "bullshots" mean? TNO wasn't advertised with bullshots.

Her abilities are still pretty good. The linking ability can clear a whole room in one go.

>went to check it out
>it's fucking true
oh shit
why they even bother with making Emily a playable character then?

Going for a violent playthrough is really fun, too bad the game gives you so much shit for non going non-lethal.

>empress/your fuckfriend gets killed, her/your daughter daughter gets kidnapped
>you get imprissoned
>you get some sick powers by a weird godlike being
>you try to redeem your name/get revenge and find your daughter

Actually pretty gud story imo

That game had to take last gen consoles into consideration in regards to memory and VRAM limits.

Doom 2016 doesn't have that problem.

And if you're metric of good texturing is the resolution, as apposed to lack of tiling, then you don't know shit. Wolfenstein's textures "fit" what they were mapped too better than the majority of AAA games,

Also half of the huge filesize was the prerendered custcenes that weren't compressed. If games start using HEVC, then that shit's gonna get a lot more bearable as well.

WHO CARES

CORVO IS BEING VOICED BY STEPHEN RUSSELL

STEPHEN MOTHERTAFFING RUSSELL

THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS

How does it give you shit? Unless you're talking about the sad ending (which is justified), it actually gives you more enemies to kill later on in the game if you go lethal.

Almost every other character in thief 1 &2.

Robo Detective in Fallout 4, a ton a voices in Skyrim. Ship captain in System Shock 2.

He's got alot of range and can act pretty damn well.

Same guy, he's not head artist this time though.

You should play Dark Corners of the Earth, I'm not saying there's a boat level where you fight a Shoggoth on the open seas, but there's totally a level where you fight a Shoggoth on a boat on the open seas.

Tried everything, still boring and repetitive, I really liked the atmosphere and the art style but that wasn't enough.

In the first game. You play as Corvo, the Empress' royal bodyguard and behind the scenes lover. Then at the start of the game, there's a coup and the Empress is killed with a new guy coming in. After that, you start working with a "loyalist" faction that wants to put the Empress' daughter on the throne.

yes, it was even a marketing point.

Voice of Garret in Thief, obviously, as well as voice of the Thieve's Guild Master in Skyrim and Belethor, as well as Nick Valentine in Fallout 4.

sharpening is a very cheap post effect. they will not remove it if that's their "artistic" decision.

>Stephen Russell

oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck

It's first-person.

Wow this looks great. Maybe 2016 won't be so bad after all. DOOM, Unreal Tournament's coming along, HITMAN, new Dishonored. Should be good.

Oh well, I guess it's not for everyone.

>So what was the story of dishonored

The short version
Corvo is the protag. He's the bodyguard of an empress
The empress gets murdered by an assassin with special powers. Corvo is framed and imprisoned
Corvo gets powers from a mystical being known as the outsider and with said powers and the help from a few rebels he manages to escape
Corvo bands up with said rebels to root out the corrupt and the people that betrayed the empress and to save the empress, daughter Emily
You find the assassin from the beginning and can either spare or kill him
You find out Corvo was romantically involved with the empress and that Emily is his daughter
When you brought the corrupt to justice the rebels get thirsty for power and kidnap Emily and you go to save her
You restore Emily to the trone and serve as her guardian

>making excuses for a 2014 game with textures straight out of 2004 with horrible pop in problems and a 50GB download for a 10 hour single player game
Todd, is that you?

So the second game is going to be Steampunk Colonial Britain rather than just steampunk London?

Hope they fix the worst things about the first one

The first game tries to pressure you into the low chaos endings but...
>anyone who dies for whatever reason destroys a no kill run, even if they die because the AI bugged out and they killed themselves patrolling
>the all decent upgrades and weapons were for kill abilities
>getting spotted once in a secure area could make every NPC in that area terrified of you permanently

Shit I keep forgetting there's a new Hitman out. Did that game have any advertisement at all or am I living under a rock?

I like the idea of playing as emily, since her blink looks more difficult to use.

It really depends on how much Stephan Russell I get in Emily's campaign, whether his story is tacked on.

What I want: Grumpy-Dad Garret

Will there be more Dad-Feels from the perspective of the Dad, or from the child?

I hope they do what splinter cell SHOULD have done and have not-Garrett call you a taffer if you fuck up as Emily.

This time it's set in a more spain/greece like setting

Those screenshots look like drawings. I doubt the game will actually look like that, but if it has great level design and gameplay it will be worth buying. I'll probably play this one more than the first since you can choose between protags. I just hope they don't punish you for being lethal as much as they did in the first. Felt like I fucked the world up by killing some assholes and I missed out on using the cool lethal stuff.

Corvo is going to die at the end of the game. I'm sure of it.

Corvo doesn't get marked by the edgesider until he's already joined the resistance.

Apply yourself, user

>spacetime wizard
>dying

Indeed, I believe so

Is he doing the concept art for D2?

>Missions have various options for completion and progression throughout. Some have neutral areas where you can go around and talk to the citizens to get a feel for the city and hints toward your mission. Your base of operations is a boat.
>Abilities are now unlocked via an ability tree.

>Emily, being a new playable character in the series, has a new set of powers to play with. Here are a few:
>Far Reach – A giant hand grappling hook that lets you physically move across spaces and swing around objects. Given the game’s greater emphasis on verticality, these movements are especially important.
>Mesmerize – Stuns multiple guards temporarily.
>Domino – Lets you link four guards together, and whatever you do to one happens to the rest. For example, stun one with a stun mine and they’ll all be stunned.
>Doppelganger – Creates a clone of yourself. You can use this together with Domino to link your clone to the guards, then blow up your own clone.
>Shadow Walk – Lets you slink into the shadows and squeeze into tight spaces.

>Corvo has the same powers as he did in the first game, but upgraded and expanded. His “Bend Time” ability can now also fast-forward time, and his “Possession” ability can now be chained between creatures. His “Blink” can assassinate someone through a glass window starting at Level 1.
>Emily and Corvo are equipped with a pistol, sword, and crossbow, but they look different. The items also have different end-game upgrades.
>Stealth and non-lethal options have been expanded to be more up to par with the amount of lethal options, including non-lethal aerial take-downs.
>Guards are a lot smarter this time, and can do things like vault around and scale objects to chase you. You can also use them as human shields, or put them in beds to avoid suspicion.

>They’re trying to make the ending and morality systems better this time.
>There are difficulty sliders for things like how visible you are in cover.

Textures in 2004 were lower res and made to tile. Megatextures means you can paint textures with lots of detail and try to get texture compression to make up the difference.

The tech needs work, and ISPs need to fix their shit.

Half Life 2 in 2004 had and has great textures, but they can't be easily painted on to the environment while avoiding tiling like they can do with megatextures. Artists have to try fucking way too hard to get shit to look that good.

Redundancy can be taken care of.

Other than Twitter no I haven't seen shit advertised for this game.

>Russel.
>Corvo will have grumpy, fathery older Garret voice.
>For two routes or if Akane will keep their world even more variety of those.
>Same inner dialogues as Daud has in DLC.
>Now Russel tier quality.

YOU CAN'T STOP MY DICK NOW.

>blatently post-processed/photoshopped bullshots

'in-game screenshots'

im sure..

Sounds almost Deus Ex-esque with the various options for completing missions. Hopefully it'll be better than other examples of this recently like FO4.

>Corvo is mute
>Stephen Russel only records grunt noises.

>morality systems better this time

I found it amusing how giving people 'fate worse than death' outcomes involving mutilation and slavery were treated as more moral than killing them.

See pic related.

>post this first
>get less (You's)

life is suffering

Emily grew up to be a qt with short hair.
YEss

It wasn't a question of morality, its a measure of panic.

Going balls deep and killing everyone will cause more panic than exacting poetic justice on the right people.

Stop getting validation from (You)'s taffer

I guess (You) could say that I stole them like a taffing thief

Besides, a lot of the people you kill will feed the rats, which further fules the plague

Oh, (You)

>>Stealth and non-lethal options have been expanded to be more up to par with the amount of lethal options, including non-lethal aerial take-downs.

So I can finally be Batman?

>ingame screenshots
If you ment that Photoshop is a game, that's right.

These are most likely current build screenshots.
However since most devs are bad at optimizing, they will most likely tone the graphics down.
