Last competitive multiplayer game I played was CSGO, and I quit after 200 hours because of how shitty the community was. Is this any better?

It's not designed around competitive multiplayer, it's designed around casuals (in every possible meaning of the word)
It has a competitive scene, but it's a joke that people are only going into because blizzard are pumping it full of cash right now (like heroes of the storm/blizzard allstars/BAlls)

it's gonna be less rage inducing that's for sure.
you also get a little bit more variety.
you will probably like it.

I've been playing CS:GO since around release, got about 1900 hours which isn't crazy considering others I've played with. I never really played any other game aside from the occasional retro jaunt.

I downloaded Overwatch and actually realized what it was like to have fun again. All these excuses I made for GO over the years were legit stockholm syndrome.

As far as community goes, idk what you even mean by that. You can mute whoever you, and TS as well. I only encountered one game where I was getting continually TK'd, that was as bad as it got.

I play mostly with people I know though, so I don't really have the same problems you friendless faggots do.

Just assume all online communities to be like Sup Forums reddit and tumblr.

>I only encountered one game where I was getting continually TK'd
what. does overwatch even have friendly fire?

>As far as community goes, idk what you even mean by that.

In CSGO I encountered hackers/trolls/smurfs in nearly every game. It was just really frustrating. Even in casual there'd be someone cheating often.

Quitting
>if you can't flick you're bad: the game
Oh user how heartwrenching

You're right, I think I'm amiss. I swear I can remember getting TK'd for some reason in that game. Maybe I'm confusing it with a shit GO match.

Oh yeah you have to accept that from matchmaking, when I want to play for real I get on ESEA

>I swear I can remember getting TK'd for some reason in that game
I don't think you can get teamkilled. You can certainly kill yourself, but not your teammates. If you get the teamkill voice announcer, that means your team wiped out the entire enemy team and they're all on the timer waiting for respawn. I got confused as hell the first time that kept happening

>how shitty the community was

>thinks he's man enough to handle losing in a high stakes competitive match
>can't handle someone being mean on the internet

Competitive games aren't meant for you.

it's not about people being mean, it's about them buying multiple copies of the game just to cheat or smurf

i couldnt care less what someone says to me

>thinks he's man enough to handle losing in a high stakes competitive match
>can't handle losing to someone better than him
Cheaters exist everywhere, you will never EVER get away from them not even IRL

Smurfs are just good players, you can get good too user.

>csgo apologists

smurfs defeat the purpose of ranks. if you beat someone who's a smurf you dont get a bigger reward. it just fucks up the system. and before you say "ranks dont matter," yeah they kind of do since they determine who you play with.

just play the third party systems or community servers and you'll be better off.

No. I don't play CSGO. "Smurfs" just exist in everything you could ever play as well. They are called Ringers in actual sports.

I'm just telling you what it's like in an actual competitive environment.

Fortunately, basic statistics make it impossible for everyone but you to be a smurf in any given match. So you know...you just gotta get better and stop blaming everything else for your losses.

Have you ever considered that I play the game to have fun first and foremost? If I get good in the process, great, but I'm not looking to train to be a professional player.

>I'm just telling you what it's like in an actual competitive environment.

it's a video game, my man.

Guys I know a lot of you hate Overwatch, and I know a lot of you love it. But stop replying to these shitty bait threads please, you are not helping.

all game communities are comprised of jaded salty nerds, and are all shit

>blizzard
>good community

At first things will be nice and friendly.
When a competitive scene emerges I'm sure it'll get as bad as GO.

A decent player can carry a poor team to victory in GO.
In Overwatch that decent player is going to get dragged down because of the multiple roles required so everyone will turn on each other and blame one another for losing just like it's DOTA/LoL

>because of how shitty the community was
Is there a single worse reason to stop liking a game? Turn off voice chat. Talk with your friends on skype or discord. There. Now you might as well just be playing against really smart (or really dumb) bots. If someone tries to talk smack to you in text just read it in a funny voice and all of a sudden it's comedic.

>quitting a game because of a toxic community rather than the gameplay itself
you are what's ruining online videogames; it's babies like you that cause developers to dedicate resources to community moderation rather than making the game better

im talking about cheaters

Report them and be done with it. Honestly if you're having a good night playing with your buds and you get into one match where someone's cheating just report the fraud and move onto the next one. Blizzard said they're permabanning people on the first offense. Not that I know if that matters. I never cared about a Blizzard game before Overwatch so I don't know how they handle cheaters.

>thread filled with justification for toxic behavior

ActiBlizzard Sup Forumsirgins are quick to come to the defense of their quality of life...
... I am so fucking happy there are retard filters out there for little pricks and retards like you.

>if you're having a good night playing with your buds

the one guy i know that plays the game is silver elite master and i was mg2 so we couldnt play together. it wouldn't have been fun anyway he's trash.

you're right my problem is just that i dont have anyone to play with

>Overwatch
>Competitive

A game based around auto-aim skills and with hitboxes of the lenght of a fucking building can't be competitive user.

>gameplay heavily relies on team communication
>YOU CAN JUST IGNORE IT

What's the point of multiplayer if you're just going to ignore everyone? When did quality communication, the most important factor in any type of team activity, simple not matter?

Are you implying that it's just simply impossible to have a full team of just your friends? I mean I can understand why it might be for you but not everyone is as incredibly unlikable as you are.
