Melee weapons don't really count unless it's something special like the Spy's knife because there's a dedicated melee button in Overwatch.
Secondary weapons though do count, but OW has character abilities so it sort of balances itself out.

I'm sick and tired of online games forcing some faggoty-ass progression system on players.
I want play on an equal field, where the amount of hours/money you put into the game doesn't directly affect your strength.
But the melees even on release still felt more akin to seperate weapons because a large majority of them were differentated by class. Scouts bat being faster than the normal set of melees, engineers wrench having a high crit rate, heavys fists being slow.

vanilla tf2 sniper has a snipe which he can charge up and he has a smg.
widowmaker as a autosnipe which can be charged and can be used as an smg + grappling hook which can be used to get away or to get onto certain spots or just fly around while sniping people + mines which can be used offensive or defensive + an ultimate which can be helpful for your teammates.

What is weapon spread. You can't rely on where the reticle is, you have to watch where the actual arrow goes. You can clearly see the arrow deviate and hit his head in one of the examples.

Arrows don't always fly straight your ri-tard. They're affected by wind and since each arrow is different, small variations in their center of mass and shape affects how they fly too. Just like how you can fire multiple bullets with a gun and hit in several spots, arrows too will vary slightly on where they land despite being not shot differently. It's still spread. If you're a game dev you might insert a variable that will make each arrow fly slightly different when fired.

Engineers seemed to have high crit chance because sentries do a lot of damage and the more damage you've dealt in the past 20 seconds the higher your crit chance. Fists are the same speed and damage as the other normal melee weapons. Only the spy and scout had actually different melee weapons. But at least you didn't say that the demoman's bottle does more damage when broken.

Well widowmaker's weapon is hitscan, it doesn't rely on projectiles like hanzo's arrows. Projectiles will inherently be less accurate than hitscan.
This isn't a bad design choice. What everyone seems to be forgetting is overwatch heavily uses projectile based physics to determine hits instead of hitscans, this means that on top of good aim there will be the physics and delays of projectiles of varying speeds depending on the hero to determine hits. A good way to counter this being frustrating is larger hitboxes and wouldn't be surprised if the hitbox was variable based on the attack that was shot rather than static based on character model.
This is honestly a really shallow analysis on what is a complex design choice.
