>Nintendo censors it anyways because of muh children
They censored it because last year feminists were on a rampage.

>implying it was censored due to children

nintendo wants to become the 4kids of this generation.

>feminists
>children
what's the difference?

Will this year be even worse? They've already censored so many games just the past year.

...

Almost every american company fears feminazis and their potential rampage nowadays. At lot of companies outside the us won't even bring shit over here anymore for the same reason.

>FF5
>NoA
pick one

One of the biggest disappointments of last year for me. I was so looking forward to this and nintendo fucked it up. Never bought it as a result

They really need a spanking and to be grounded.

Yeah, no company censored their games before feminazis

It isn't like butthurt parents and soccer moms have existed since before 2012

It's dumb. But it happened anyway.

>Nintendo: I GUESS NO ONE WANTS FATAL FRAME NOW

>people actually believe this
Companies care about profit, not appeasing a handful of political extremists who don't even make up 0.1% of their consumerbase. If a company is diversifying and "appeasing sjws", it's because they have come to the conclusion SJWs are a large enough group of people that they would like to add them to their consumer base to produce, gasp, MORE MONEY.

Companies aren't pleasing SJWs because they fear them. They are pelasing them because they want more people buying their games so they are attempting to appeal to as many groups as possible.

>I GUESS NO ONE WANTS FATAL FRAME NOW
>Physical copies in EU sold out in a whim
Yeah, no. There will be more FF.

i was going to buy it day one, but you know

What a shock, a niche game sold even less than expected after pissing off the main source of revenue.

Nintendo sinking is no big surprise considering how they treat their games.

Just not in the US, and since all nintendo consoles are region locked.

I want them to be tentacle raped.

What really gets me mad about this is that the USA didn't get a physical copy. I really wanted to try this out with the Wii U gamepad, but I really do not like buying digital when I know I can own the disc. I mean, it was only bonus content anyway right?

Yeah. It'll just be for Europe only now.

Joy.

this has been happening since literally the NES. it has nothing to do with Gamergate/SJWs

FF sold like shit. Didn't appear on a single chart during release. If Nintendo thinks censoring games means more money, then they're hopelessly misguided.

Yeah I said nowadays. There has always been some social group that is in that limelight, the current times it just happens to be rampaging feminists and the skinny white men that love them.

Reminder that this freak works for Treehouse.

You realize every FF localized for the West has been censored before, even the sony games? Also, this one was censored by NoE because of Australia. NoA had nothing to do with this except for Alison's spoopy trailer

Feminists censoring games is a meme.

Nintendo wants to protect their precious family omage. If you think Nintendo cutting shit is new, you know literally nothing about vidya. Nintendo had entire fucking guidelines on what was ok to release for the NES, and the SNES had shit like MK censored.

...

Didn't also urge people not to buy XSEED games?

>the other ones were censored!
This does not make further censorship acceptable.

...

>Nintendo wants to protect their precious family omage.
If so then why even make M-rated games for adults?

Didn't they also make this download only? What are they thinking? Its not going to get an A rating, they could have just left it alone

yes.

They are. Piracy makes everything better. :^)

I'm pretty sure NoA has no idea what they're doing. Like all the people who work their got replaced with alternate universe versions of themselves who dropped out of highschool, but they're still trying their damnedest to make it work.

Those were different times and those were also games for children (MK aside). Liberals like to remind us it's the current year but they also have no problem with extremely regressive censorship when it suits their purposes.

What I don't get is why change it in the first place
Get some voice actors, translate languages, and tada, you're done
making changes to the game seems unnecessary, even if they are aiming at a lower esrb rating. Most tend to ignore esrb ratings.

XSeed is based, though.

>Is there something mentally wrong with NoA employees?
The problem lies in how the system works, not entirely in the people that exploit it.

Someone's job is to find stuff that needs to be changed, so he/she will have to find something or company executives realize they are feeding one mouth too much.
>"What's that guy even here for, sitting in his office all day and never showing us any concrete work?"

Japanese designers get a request to create new costumes so they do it because it's a job just like any other for them.

And that doesn't even include rating boards around the globe, reviewing sites like IGN and other journalism related portals.
It's basically a huge circle-jerk inside the industry that serves as a potential cash grab for a lot of organizations.

Some niche companies already realized that just releasing a english subbed "asia" version on a region free console brings them more profit than delegating all these tasks and having to deal with local markets in foreign countries

This is true, and it's not just third and second parties; Nintendo has censored Western releases of their own games since the NES, thanks to NoA's guidelines. As a Wii U owner I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that if I wanted to play games for grown-ups, I shouldn't have bought a children's console.

It's exceptionally stupid because the people they by and large try to appease with these stupid decisions will never play these games, and it's obviously not a complete standard because they let games like Madworld, Bayonetta 2, and GTA:Chinatown Wars happen.

>falling for the 'censorship is bad' meme

It was good in FF5. The bikinis were shit. Stop it.

What would've happened if they released it with the costumes? Anything?

NoA, shut up.

nothing would have happened.

if the girl on the left was a little more loli i'd play it

Do you really think some pair of boobs, some ass or some dick HAVE to be in your game otherwise it's fucking ruined?! Or do you need to hear the characters say 'fuck' and 'shit' so you don't get bored by the story?

found the nu male

Reminder that Tomodachi Life did this.

And you all laughed.

Except that was NoE's doing. Didn't expect a retarded GG parrot to know shit about what they're talking about though.

Do you know what negative publicity is, user?

Clearly not.

It's okay. That's all.

no, they could have added those and kept the old ones. Removing stuff on a whim is always bad. Replacements don't justify anything

In those cases the developers probably told them to shove it

>If Nintendo thinks censoring games means more money, then they're hopelessly misguided.
>What is Xenoblade X and Fire Emblem Fates

>Nintendo says NO to gays

>could have added zss suit and zelda suit without removing the revealing clothing

>Japanese console/console game sales are dogshit
>desperate Jap devs put in fanservice sexy shit to appeal to horny otakus who are the last people spending money
>Some nu-male dipshit with problem glasses falls off his unicycle after he sees cleavage and head-patting that doesn't involve trannies or bernie sanders
>promptly removes the content to make it acceptable to the small number of nu-males and feminists who are playing the game, pissing off the horny wotakus who are the primary fanbase
>wokatus buy the game anyway while grumbling, nu-males and feminists play the game for 10 minutes then tweet about it being too hard and toss it into their cuck sheds to collect dust
>the cycle begins anew

This. At the end of the day, Nintendo has to advertise to stay in business, like any other company. Nobody whines about the product placement in Metal Gear Solid, but Nintendo slips ONE piece of Metroid merchandise into a game and suddenly they're the Devil. Get a grip, Sup Forums. Nintendo saw an opportunity to spread awareness of their great games and they took it. You can't pretend that the Metroid franchise was in particular need of this popularity boost.

>HAVE to be in your game
if the creators of the game wanted that in the game then yes it should be left in. Spending extra removing content increases time and costs.
NoA actually loses money through this pointless censorship because they wouldnt lose sales by not censoring it. No one bought the game *because* the costumes were censored.

>what is Bravely Second and Fatal Frame

DoAX3 was nothing but negative publicity in the US, and it sold more exports than it did in it country of origin. Actual people who play video games don't care, and neither should the companies trying to cater to them.

>GG
Can you stop doing that? It's not even good ironically.

that argument would only work if people bought the game BECAUSE it was censored. That isnt the case

Not without a seriously negative impact on sales. Western culture has evolved beyond Japan's lechery. People in this part of the world would have been put off by the stupid, skimpy costumes--and rightly so.

You do realize that the dev needs to cave in to them, right? If the dev is like "lol fuck off" like CD Project Red for example, they are going to boycott it and the dev will literally lose 0 sales because these people don't play games that aren't on iphone.

It's not a standard because they rely on the dev being spineless pussies.

Why not both? I mean why couldn't we just have the original game, and maybe the added costumes as well? I'm not annoyed they added an albeit superior set of costumes, just a little buttflustered that I didn't get ALL the costumes.

>big ornate zelda cosplay outfit is more suitable than a simple bikini
Stupid as hell and detracts from the horror

they don't actively advertise their censorship so it would have sold just as much without it.

>Not without a seriously negative impact on sales
prove it.

>t. NoA cuck employee

fuck this stupid retard. What a dipshit. There's nothing wrong with Senran being there as a product

>Censorship is okay because i like it better this way
t. nintendrones

But is there a reason to remove them in the first place? They can simply be ignored and you can pick another one if you want.
Removing stuff seems to kill it more than make it sell more. I see more people complain about censorship rather than actual character clothing.

Lets see how many of these we can check off

I agree, we've moved beyond revealing clothing for women. I hope we get a mandatory hijab dress code for women in the near future.

I said it was stupid, because it's a borderline double standard to tout a family friendly image when some Nintendo exclusives are far worse than a vast majority of games in that regard.

Why are you so eager to see a set of polygons shaped like cleavage? Can't you stroke your dick to something else? Hyper-sexy content might be appealing to immature teenage boys, but well-adjusted families are Nintendo's audience. Nintendo has no reason to alienate their fans by releasing softcore porn.

Why is Feminism and Social Justice such social cancer?

First, that implies most possible buyers were aware of the censorship which, believe, is a fucking long shot.

Second, if you're not buying a game because it has no lewd costumes, the game is trash and nobody should have bought it from the beginning.

Third, if you wanna see some lewd costumes, just watch anime... Jesus. Seriously, everybody has their own reasons to buy games, but to met that sounds ridiculous as fuck...

>muh cultural differences!

>detracts from the horror

And these would have made you shit your pants?

Where's the "if you don't like it, learn -language X that's probably Japanese- and get the original version!" square"? Because these games are totally a magical gift from big companies and not products they expect us to pay top dollar for so we should be very grateful for the chance to buy them!

I dont mind if a game doesnt have lewd stuff but if it had lewd stuff anyway and the US publishers censored it that just doesnt sit right with me.

>List of sensible arguments I have no counter to.png
Seriously. Those are all valid points.

Most likely because NoA realized that not showing titties would sell more copies to western audiences.

Don't tell me what games to enjoy, NoA cocksucker. Go suck nigger dick elsewhere.

>we've moved beyond revealing clothing for women
have you seen that new rihanna music video?

It's always only a problem when it comes outside of the US

I can't tell you how often me, the wife, the wife's bull Tyrone and my wife's son Jayqwondo gather around the old TV to play a friendly game of Fatal Frame. Thanks for making it less awkward to play in front of the family, Nintendo!

>not one bit of evidence for this stupid meme argument
every time

At what point did I imply I cared about the costumes showing cleavage, or are you just so dead set on spouting your shitty opinion that you need to manifest imaginary goalposts to make sense?

The swimsuits made sense because the game is water themed hence the subtitle "Maiden of the Black Water".

Sex and horror have always gone hand in hand

They're all missing the point and are the cries of defeated faggots desperately trying to pretend there's nothing wrong.

"It's just a little piss in my food metaphor, you can't even taste it!"
"PFFFT I prefer piss in my food metaphor, it just makes everything easier to pass through my stomach"
"You only wanted to eat a food metaphor without piss....what does that say about you?"

And so forth.

True that.

Ok but will it make MOST buyers pass to not buyers because of that? That's what I just can't believe. Aaaaall the buyers thought the exact same thing?! I think the game was destined to sell poorly and at the end bad rep is bad rep. If you can avoid it, fuck it...

They're making a ton of money so they know what they're doing.
