All hail mediocre games

I'm sick as fuck of people defining games either shit or great.
There is a middle ground full or rad games that get ignored simply because they are not "10/10 GOTY, preorder now or else... " and they get called "shitty", implying they are as bad as unplayable crap like Busby.
No. Mediocrity is not necessary bad. Plenty of games we enjoyed or still enjoy were mediocre and we are fine with it.

So let's share them. Post your favourite "mediocre", "average", "7/10" or "ok" games here.
No perfect games allowed. No Busby allowed.

It's not mediocre, it's shit

>7/10
>average

I think you're looking for 'slightly above average.'

Pic unrelated
It's far from being mediocre, not even average gitgud and you'll understand

...

Review sites operate on a 5 to 10 scale. a 7 is average.

I mean, we live in a world where anything under a 9 is automatically shit. 6 and 7 are kinda average.

Are you trying to lie to yourself? Average is something above 8.5, 7 is considered shit by modern gamers overall. Prove me wrong.

Sf0 actually was shit though

Mmmm, I love the taste of this bait, yum yum

Wouldn't say mediocre, but Gurumin is a solid 7/10.

>j-jjust giht guod
And I told people to get good at the on-foot controls for Assuault, but look what happens.

Which version is best? PC or PSP?

Best in the franchise DESU

That's a weird way to spell "Assault was shit"

Chicken walker > On foot sections

If only it had more content

I played the PSP version, but I haven't heard of any problems with the PC release.

There's a big difference here, Assault was shit in basically any aspect, SPECIALLY on-foot controls. Landmaster controlles like shit. Arwing controlled like shit. On-foot controlled like shit.

Zero only has the shallow content flaw (lack of more levels and multiplayer). It plays flawlessly and has a decent level design, art direction and replayability.

Not my fault if you have a shitty taste for games and can't gitgud.

Freeze Me.
All things considered it's essentially Mario but with worse platforming and controls that are ass.

I got it on the Wii U which I am glad that I did, since after realized that you could actually play it with the Wiimote + Nunchuck instead of a traditional controller the game actually started to feel playable though. It's probably required to be honest because the whole freeze mechanic is almost impossible otherwise.

In spite of all this though I had much more fun with the game than I feel like should be allowed though. That said while everything is basically worse than from the games it shamelessly copies, but it does copy from a lot of games. You find things from basically all 3D Mario games, as well as some Banjo stuff. Which is real neat. And the freeze mechanic is actually moderately interesting sometimes.
But ultimately it feels like Mario but worse. But still interesting and still fun.

Eshop only?

>tfw still playing Star Fox Zero, even though I've 100% completed it
>tfw still doing all the alternate routes in arcade mode
>tfw replaying every level again with the different arwings and trying to beat my high scores
>already sunk more than twenty hours into the game
>haven't even touched Guard yet

Is there something wrong with me? I'm having a lot more fun than I should be. I dislike a lot of things in the game but damn it I can't stop playing.

Guard has too much hand-holding and tutorials. I can't get into it with the same passion I did Zero.

>Everyone looks at Slippy with disappointment
Kek

Castlevania 64
Remember Me
Senran Kagura in general
Clock Tower 3
Pandora's Tower

...

>Castlevania 64
Wait WHAT

It's pretty 7/10, yo. Most people don't even give it that much credit.

>too scared to try beating Andross in arcade mode
>gamepad broke shortly after I got there so I wouldn't be able to play it anyway
