I think it affects more on how they can (and hopefully) pick or change to heroes by analizing the opposing team, their team and the situation. I think that's more important than straight out raw skill.

this is a problem in any team game unless 1 person can solo carry a shit team, which usually means that the game doesn't require teamwork.
Why is it when I analyse our team and try to recommend characters for people to counter the other team's comp, they just ignore and run into the meat grinder. I generally change several times in a match if my strategy isn't working against a certain team. Sometimes we just don't need a fucking Symmetra or a god damn Hanzo.
One game comes to mind where we had 2 Widowmakers on Hanamura during the last capture point against a competent team for 5 minutes. Everyone else on the team was playing hyper-aggressively on the point but it was like playing 2 people down

There is hidden quick play mmr which I think is responsible for these seemingly unbalanced games. Early on I had a game where I was the only one who was above 20 and most of my team was below 10 and we still beat a team that only had one person below 40. I thought we would lose for sure but I guess there are just a lot of people who play a whole lot and lose a whole lot.

Genji's reflect can be so overpowered if timed correctly. He can reflect half of the ults in the game and single handedly turn a fight.

I must be doing something wrong. I notice whenever another genji pops his ult they seem like an invincible killing machine that can 1v4 a team and when I use it I just die immediately every time.
But still never get any votes at the end of match

Use his wall climb, so many genjis dony use it and they get shit on for it. You can get the jump on snipers healers just about fucking everyone with it. Also just work on your aim.
ALSO do a quick melee before his dash and you are more likely to get the kill

Anything under level 15 is pretty much guaranteed to be a shitter
Anything over level 40 is probably pretty fucking good
Everything else is a toss-up, either a decent player who lacks free time, or a shitter who's done nothing with his life but miss shots as Widowmaker since the game came out

if you get behind a sniper the combo is melee -> fan -> dash or fan -> melee -> dash. you should get 3 hits in though before they notice you

if you get into that scenario then just aim for their head with the regular left click then dash(2-3 headshots). works way better than combo and is more reliable if you can aim

I hate how matchmaking never keeps you in a team. You rarely get a chance to sync together until the end of the round and then you get kicked back to the menu or play scrambled teams. It just seems weird to prevent those teams from forming when you allow 6 man lvl 40+ premades to play against people who don't even speak the same language.

i do aswell but i do not agree about him getting nerfs at all. if anything he needs a health buff or get his regular damage back by 20%. he should be 200 health where 50 of them are armor.
genji is really good against shitters and pubs but he starts to fall apart against the top tiers, has a lot of counters and the ones he counters are not usually picked in comp, so he becomes less useful. once youre playing against precomps he really starts to suffer.
Nerfing him would quickly ruin him. I agree he's crazy good in the right hands, but he has some hard counters. He can not deal with winstons at all. Mei and Symmetra are really troublesome too.
Also unless he can get into a position where he can safely shoot at a turret that can't see him, thrbjorn cockblocks him really well too.
I have ~2/3rds win rate at level 30 something. Opponents levels are getting kind of ridiculous though. Had a game where I was thrown in with a level 9, up against an 82.
mcree can beat him pretty bad aswell, if he aims at your feet with the flashbang you cant deflect it
McCree beats literally anyone in his ideal range.
True, junkrat also has splash damage and bear trap to deal with him, but I've gotten a lot of deflection kills against them

I solo Genji out a lot if I can't get my hands on a healer. Never a struggle to stomp him out.
I think Winston just isn't used enough because pubs fear jumping into a team.
Dual winstons are complete and utter cancer, it's almost unbeatable. Until you counterpick reaper.
