Anri's Straight Sword was already listed, and it straight up outclasses the dark sword. Better damage for less investment and that sweet sweet passive healing. Not to mention Carthus Rouge and mad fashion souls.

From what I can tell. It's hitbox is cone shaped rather than actually straight, so a guy can hit me while I'm rolling past him.

It's good, but not hype-worthy.
The weapon art is fun to flail around with, but is very easy to avoid.
It's moveset is just a slower and clunkier Yhorm's.

Shit tier was probably too harsh. Chaos/Lightning infusions will still find use but for quality builds it will be outclassed by higher damage UGS like Profaned. The WA is easy to avoid and parry though, so I wouldn't consider it a big deal.

The Dark Sword's R2 has you flip the sword upwards and then behind you.
Then you do a slight cape twirl to realign yourself.

I don't know, I think it's one of the best
moves around for punishing retreat/estus. Scaling puts in on par with profaned if you buff it but I agree if it didn't have the thrust trait on the rolling attack it might fall short.
