Dark Souls
Demon souls
Demon Souls
Dark Souls III
real answer: Mount and Blade
chivalry
Dark Souls 2
Blade of Darkness
Dark Souls 2
Examina. Without a doubt. Everything else here is just standard damage-armour models. Exanima factors in mail, chain, plates, slashes, trauma etc.
Dark Souls 1/DeS
Mountain Blade
Chivalry
For Honor when it comes out
>mount and blade
Stop
Dark Messiah.
Has it gotten any updates or anything? I fucking hate that early access shit because I never know when any games actually get finished.
I didn't get far in but I had fun when i pirated it
Looks like console shit
those brightly colored faggy knights make it worse
>dark souls isn't even real knights or knight combat
>mostly about fighting demons and shit
>dodge rolling is a common practice in it
>magic spells exist
>somehow voted best knight combat
whew, Sup Forums
>tfw no realistic knight game with dark souls level of customization
you can't use magic if you don't put points into intelligence and faith
you can also choose a knight or warrior or whatever class
you can simply just use good shields and step away instead of rolling
Yeah, there's a pretty fucking great arena system now. Just about as difficult as the main story mode. Includes pugilism and "frays" (6 person free for all)
Fuck off turk roach, mudslims cannot be knights
this is what the game you posted looks like
>step away from giant demon AOE effects and smashes
>thinking anything about this game would pass for realistic knight combat when its whole premise is unrealistic
who are you trying to meme on right now?
certainly not me
what are some games where I can hunt bears?
better than dork rolls
>Warband.
Helllll nein, nigger.
Mountain blade.
Why not?
>darksouls 2.
hexer scum post
Bitch please.
Have you even seen medieval manuscripts?
Real armor was flashy, colorful, and highly decorated.
It was the fucking victorians who perpetrated the "knight in shining armor" myth and stripped the paint off of some sets to feel justified.
As for the game itself, I'll wait, need to see some actual gameplay first.
Alternatively, here's what most likely inspired the Drakeblood Armor of Dark Souls.
>knight game
>swords have any effect on knight armor at all
Victorious Boxers 2 :^)
>knight game
>everyone picks vanilla straight sword
>maces and other blunt weapons have increased effectiveness
No one ever wore something like that into battle. No one!
Used to think Chivalry, but I got tired of the high sens twirling and the stupid ass crouch, turn around, overhead swing shit. Probably could've learned how to to deal with that, but I just want to fight semi knight like, not whirling and jumping like a goddamn idiot..
You're right, That is King Henry's parade armor.
Pic related is King Edward the Black Prince, minus the mink shawl, he wore it many times into battle.
And forgive the quality, don't have a good one on hand, but here is an example of painted armor.
The Middle Ages were colorful, and I hate it how video games try to make everything look like shit-stained brown.
>King Edward the Black Prince
he was never king dip
It's not just video games either, it's media in general. It's a damn shame too; everyone just has this idea that the medieval era was all brown and misery when it wasn't.
Dark Souls 2
He's right though.
Dark Souls 2's limited stamina regen and high stamina cost for actions actually meek you feel like you're wearing armor and have to time your roll perfectly instead of just spamming them like in DS3.
Arkham Knight
Dark Souls 2
God damn it, first person i see who actualy know this shit.
aye siwmae!
kingdome come: deliverence ???
Knigga Reporting
Is this an armor thread breaching through?
also check out the sword combat in Mordhau
vid related
youtube.com
think WotR but less clunky and more arcadey
though
the combat in this is actually shitty when it comes to more than a 1v1 fight.
Deus Vult
Exanima
New level just came out and it's hard as heck
Same with the white marble statues and columns. Ancient Greeks and Romans painted everything. Paint wore off by the time renaissance artists started copying them.
Mount and Blade and Souls games.
>ill-fitting sugarloaf
>knight using a buckler
>sparring nylon
>socks
user please
Hello felow knightbros
> MMXVI
> Not knowing the Mordhau Grip
Being this fucking peasant
Severance
Mine diferent helm
>ill-fitting sugarloaf
it fits fine over a maille coif and cloth coif
>knight using a buckler
men at arms used bucklers all the time especially in the 100 years on the english side also, not being manly enough to fight "the one true way"
>sparring nylon
>socks
sure you can have those two, it was unboxing day when i first got it I was excited
nice kit user you should join us in the Larp thread on /cgl/
>men at arms used bucklers all the time especially in the 100 years on the english side also, not being manly enough to fight "the one true way"
Neat I did not know this
Lookin' spiffy, user
Well im more of a reenactor then larper but i will defiently check.
Hahah, A black knight.
Getit
Bwhahaah
yeah Skall has a video (kinda) about it
youtube.com
lots of english bucklers used offensively even.
its a good mix of HEMA/SCA/Reenactors/Larpers
>A melee based game where friendly fire can be a big problem if you can't differentiate between teams
No shit they have colored armor and banners
Muh nigga of darkness
How much does the whole kit cost you?
Im more into early ages, not allowed to be fully armoured like that
>that BLACKED armor
L O L
War of the Roses was great initially but now it's shit and dead
Warband is pretty good for it
I want a knight game that emphasizes physicality and using leverage against a opponent rather than simply weapons.
Like this:
youtube.com
If you're fighting someone in plate armor you should be able to tackle them to the ground and pull off the plate to kill them like or dagger them
youtube.com
The games I've seen are basically mashing buttons and trying to time and measure sword distance. A sword doesn't do much against heavy armor. No bec de corbins to penetrate armor either? Also a huge lack of jousting. Even that old SNES game where you could joust for land had jousting, it got ported to GBA too.
out of the kits I have the 15thc plate armor is the most expensive
All in the milanese style with most being 16g steel and 18 on some of the lames, and the sallet being 14g used for rattan and live steel. With all of the arming garments and straps and stuff it was maybe over $2k burger bucks.
The maille early period crusader kit was more like $600 with all the arming wear and helmet but thats because i got butted mail since i wont be fighting in it other than light sparring.
Have you ever considered moving to britain and getting a lord title so you can do the whole shebang
I want to get a castle and walk around in full period clothing and tell people I'm a real Lord and shit. And learn how to do a perfect old timey british accent.
There are many groups that go extremely far into roleplay thats its not even fun anymore.
alas user, my coffers are full but I have no friends or subjects willing to swear fealty
I would love to just roleplay all day getting drunk whipping peasants and making fair maidens drop their wimples for me.
but really i have no friends
I don't know what you're implying user. They do it too hard?
me too user
Don't worry I'm sure I can still roleplay that rich spoiled brat who fires all his servants and secludes himself in his castle studying the classics.
I like that helmet
cnbc.com
Buy this castle mate, and we can start our own kingdom, ill swear fealty to you and will be your stounch protector.
I can train your men after i finish the army soon
Only thing i ask for return is some land to live with my lady and be allowed to have my own family crest, lord
thats seems quite inexpensive too! we should start a kickstarter and get some others on board lol
You will be counted among my greatest and mostly (and well paid) personal guard.
We will defend the land and the commoners the holy church
Thanks, i love this type of helmet since i can actualy see shit though it
...
i think it's a norman style
it's one of those pre heaume heavy helmets though
...
Where did you get that set?
I particularly like the helmet.
He said knight not circus contortionist.
Yes,my lord
This will be greater honour to protect you and your lands
Ill bring my small personal retinue and some servants to accompany and help us to start on building our kingdon.
Norman full face helmet, style brought from Sicily/Italy
Kingdom Come: Deliverance maybe?
See
yeah it's one of those enclosed helmets from the 11th/12th century
Defender of the crown
helmet made by GDFB its called Italian Sallet or European Sallet it comes with the bevor
i believe there are some that just got put up for sale on Kultofathena.com
>Little Dink shield
Holy fuck I'm crying.
do people really not know what bucklers are
Mordhau is coming along nicely. First game I've seen with any half-swording
i dont need a big shield to compensate for anything
user also its called a buckler
i love these threads because there are always a few of us with historical knowledge and tons of clueless ppl who have never worn armor let alone gripped a real sword or shield
The combat in Mordhau looks just as shitty when it comes to more than 1v1
>First game I've seen with any half-swording
you haven't seen many games then
I know what a fucking Buckler is, its just that... Holy shit, I didn't know they could be so small.
this 150 times
I wish there was a first person melee game that made good use of formations or small shield walls. Like even granting bonuses for fighting in formations or something.
>I didn't know they could be so small.
that's average for real bucklers
Really?
Goes to show how Little I know about shields, and Knights in General.
