No Morrowind thread? Let's change that.
No Morrowind thread? Let's change that
who else /dagoth/ here?
skywind will never be finished, will it? ;_;
>they will never remake morrowind in unreal 4
why even live
it will probably after ES VI is released, so it will lose popularity. Good thing is that there will be spells like water walking and shit so that's great. Only thing missing is spellamaking
Morrowfag here, just tried Skyrim. It's actually not that bad as most people say. Which mods disable quest markers and unnecessary essential NPCs?
Just finished my imperial spearman playthrough.
I'm thinking dunmer spellsword
Are there any essential enchantments and shit i need? Like the restore fatigue 3 pts a sec.
Also what magic schools are the better ones and which ones to forget?
Telvanni or mages guild?
Also are the temple quests worth doing?
Thanks
depends on your character. If he is a nationalist, go telvanni
Skyrim is designed around the quest markers. Unlike Morrowind the game doesn't give you directions in writing, for anything.
Aren't there any mods that give you directions? Sorry for not asking in /tesg/ but it's full of cancer anime
>Are there any essential enchantments and shit i need
absorb health is OP, takes enemy health and gives it to you
>Also what magic schools are the better ones and which ones to forget?
all are good, but you don't need alchemy or enchanting if you have spells that do the same shit
if you're doing a spellsword, you could leave out destruction since you're damaging with your sword, and take restoration, alteration (lock opening), and illusion (cloaking and sneaking)
>Telvanni or mages guild?
you can do both, mages guild first since it's lower level
>Also are the temple quests worth doing?
they have some of the best gear rewards in the game, but are boring
dagoth ur did nothing wrong
>tfw talking to savants, and reading all the incredibly well-typed lore and information
Loved it. One thing I noticed, however, is that Morrowind doesn't have a single Orc savant. I understand that, stereotypically, Orcs are considered kind of dumb, but does it really make sense there isn't a SINGLE one? There are Argonian savants after all.
It's gonna happen. You just need to believe.
this looks better desu
Who gives a shit? OpenMW is fully functional
>drop weapons and wraithguard
>he still tries to blast me to pieces
Why is master Dagoth so mean?
Why can't we get those models on MW instead?
I fucking hate Open shills like you. It's not finished. It has more bugs than vanilla. Not even most mods work with it. Wait for it to get anywhere before you start sucking its cock like as if it's dispensing liquid gold.
WE CHIM NOW
How viable is unarmed in vanilla morrowind?
What makes Morrowind better than Skyrim?
Hardmode:
Do not mention equipable armor slots or combat.
Fuck off nig-mer.
n'wah spotted
I only care about Skywind in the sense that I want the good art and design from it ported over to OpenMW. My big concern is that one of the better looking aspects of Skywind is the terrain, but that would likely cause more than a few conflicts with established mods.
Has Skywind's devteam explained how they'll get the player up and down Telvanni towers yet?
For me, it's the atmosphere and the story. Unlike Skyrim, it actually feels like a totally alien world with its own, rich background.
>339810804
Morrowind can immerse you in a world in a way that Skyrim cannot. Instead of walking from waypoint-to-waypoints for the quests, you actually have to listen to the people that you talk to and understand your objective.
This is a key point that "streamlining" completely overlooks and destroys the narrative as a result.
The first quest in Morrowind tells you exactly where Balmora is and why you are going there. You follow signs and eventually reach your goal by your own choices. You can ignore it completely or go for it at the beginning. There's no level-scaled enemies to inhibit your exploration of the world; it feels real and dangerous in its own right.
whats this from
>armor slots and combat
those are better in skyrim
the thing I like in Morrowind more than Skyrim is that it doesn't hold your hand, and I like all the political shit in Morrowind with the factions. Also I liked Dagoth more than Alduin.
Most mods definitely work with it, and it's very stable. It's the best option long term for preserving and enhancing Morrowind. Both projects have their strengths and different goals, and aren't inherently in competition.
I must have been the only one that liked Skyrim's atmosphere most desu. I mean the fast travel ruins it, but the snow is really comfy
Skywind.
Where are those ciphered messages?
How does the translated text look like?
>Better antagonist
>More interesting world
>More interesting lore in general
>No handholding
>No essential NPCs
>Better faction system
>Disposition was actually important
The list goes on and on...
if anyone wants to discuss lore, get over to >>/tg/tgesg
Atmosphere of Skyrim:
>In the first 30 minutes you are told that you are Dragonborn and destined to kill dragons and destroy the ultimate dragon because it is your birthright
Atmosphere of Morrowind:
>You are a prisoner and are given a task by a secret society. Who you are and your ultimate goal is slowly revealed as the story progresses.
vivec is known to have the longest spear on tamriel, possibly one of the longest on nirn. his spear has been described as "CHIM", with gargantual thickness that would rival numidium and even the void. im estimating his size to be at least kalpa in length, with OVER an era of girth. he would have absolutely destroyed azura's pussy.
they would have spent hours and hours on foreplay, getting herself wet enough just so she can take it. i can just imagine her begging for it, with vivec barely able to force it past the knob, and azura moaning and squirming, demanding him to force it in deeper. she would have orgasm'd within seconds of taking the entire length, being filled and stretched right up to her throat.. the orgasm would have been powerful, with her animus clamping down on vivec throbbing monstrosity, her entire realm quivering in euphoria..
I fucked up
>tgesg
KEK, so I can watch greasy neckbeards post naked chinese cartoon characters in skyrim?
You have to get that code book in a Fighters Guild quest
oh nvm, different general
Oh, I know what you are talking about. The /vg/ general that must not be mentioned.
Uhm, because it's an ugly steaming pile of shit whereas Skywind could look beautiful?
Memewind
>put in the effort to remodel armors
>remodel the WRONG armor set
I presume that's Indoril armor, not Ordinator suit. They're specifically stated to not be the same kind of armor.
it's not the official skywind one, it's just a WIP or a Skyrim mod
There are gonna be 4 types of Indoril armor. One for each order.
Is this bait?
You do know the intro to Morrowind right?
And you are told you are dragonborn but much more is reveled latter on by the Greybeards.
Skyrim already has water walking.
I know there are some, but I've never tried them.
Same way you enter Neloth's tower in Dragonborn?
>essential enchantments and shit i need? Like the restore fatigue 3 pts a sec.
Come on, the game already becomes too easy way too fast and you become unstoppable with no effort. Why would you want to break it even more with constant effect enchantments?
what is the best and most easy applicable hd graphics mod for morrowind?
i have the nexusmodmanager but only used it for skyrim so far
>want to be an honorable redoran
>telvanni shits make fun of you
wtf
I spent days modding this """""""game""""", but the combat is awful.
this has nothing to do with atmosphere fucking autist
You forgot about Shulks egg mine, haven't you?
>intro to morrowind
Let's see:
>In the waning years of the
>Third Era of Tamriel,
>a prisoner born on a certain day
>to uncertain parents was sent
>under guard, without explanation, to >Morrowind,
>ignorant of the role he was
>to play in that nation's history…
The game literally tells you nothing about your role or purpose and it is entirely up to the player to discover this.
The first quest of Skyrim has you killing a dragon and absorbing its soul, to which literally everyone around you tells you that you are special and that you are the dragonborn.
Welcome to TES
post the one where vivec materializes behind you
what the hell
>the first quest
:^)
nothin personnel
Most quests give you directions to your target, they are just not pinned into your eye sockets.
>I can't refute your point or provide evidence to the contrary; here's a meme
Thanks.
>Following the release of Daggerfall, it was set up around an SVGA version of XnGine, which Bethesda later used in Battlespire, and set in the province of Morrowind.
>The game was "much closer to Daggerfall in scope", encompassing the whole province of Morrowind, rather than the isle of Vvardenfell, and allowing the player to join all five Dunmer Great Houses.
>The blight was conceived as a dynamic force, progressively expanding and destroying cities in its wake.
>It was finally decided that the scope of the original design was too grand given the technology current at the time.
You're really committing to this
Your source?
Do you want to have a conversation or just shitpost?
I feel like I'm giving you far too much credit, which is probably the case.
Why are people so proud they can't admit they were wrong even on an anonymous shitpost weaving forum?
I'll bite, you obviously haven't played Skyrim if your argument is
>The first quest of Skyrim has you killing a dragon and absorbing its soul, to which literally everyone around you tells you that you are special and that you are the dragonborn.
He did get that wrong but he's really not far off. That's what one might remember from playing Skyrim for a few hours, a few years ago. The point still stands.
For God's sake, I don't even agree with the fucker but it's not the very first quest it's the third or so, it literally makes no difference to his shit argument
Want to make more stupid assertions while I have the time?
what mods do I need for morrowwind to make it nicer looking and what are some fun builds?
MGE, Better Heads, Better Bodies and Vurt's mods
Wuts the best Morrowind mod guide, still that Trainwiz one on tesgeneral?
>waa waa it's the 4th MAIN QUEST that's exactly the same
Your telling of your experience is probably biased
Every telling of every experience is biased, retard
>A game that features Vvardenfell in Skyrim graphics without Morrowind gameplay
No thanks. If I want to play an action game with RPG elements I'll play Far Cry 4.
it's still right at the fucking start of the main quest relatively speaking.
>Azura: They have taken you from the Imperial City's prison, first by carraige, and now by boat. To the east, to Morrowind. Fear not, for I am watchful. (You) have been chosen.
>playing morrowind for the gameplay
You must be older than 18 to post in this board
ok, I'll reword that
Your telling of your experience is very biased
that's still more time than it takes for the pc in morrowind to be told he is the chosen one
Are you seriously suggesting that those quotations give you more insight into your quest that being blatantly told that you are a "dragonborn" and your bloodline dictates a certain path?
Honestly, this is pathetic at this point. Give up before you embarrass yourself anymore.
youtube.com
SKOOMA BABY
Morrowind: You are the chosen one. What is that supposed to mean? Dunno, find out yourself.
Skyrim: You are the dragonborn, that means you are the ultimate dragonslayer! Also it just so happens that the bad guy this time around is a dragon! What a coincidence!
No, it's more time than the PC is told "you might be the chosen one, we aren't entirely sure what that means though and then again you might not be the chosen one, this has happened countless times and they're all dead, good luck buddy"
morrowind newfag here, I just accidentally closed the little stats window in right-click menu. how the fuck do I get it back?
Could someone post the russian imperial guard dialogue song?
nevermind, found it. more intuitive than I would've thought, I guess
Double-click your health bar
at least in skyrim you get the chance to delay (possibly avoid) the scripted moment of "YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE"
It's thrust upon you in morrowind
ctrl+f Skyrim 1/20
everytime man
Why are Morrowind fags so insecure? and why is Oblivion so irrelevant
Actually no.
More like:
Skyrim: You are a Dragonborn. What is that supposed to mean? Dunno, find out yourself.
You don't find out what being Dragonborn means until you talk to the Greybeards and advance in the main questline more.
Stop making things up.
The games are quite similar in this regard.
because oblivion bitching got succeeded by skyrim bitching
because people are still delusional enough to think that Skyrim improved on the formula when it actually moved it backwards. You must fight these bullshit changed lest they become accepted. They will ruin future games.
You can avoid it in Skyrim by delaying the quest. You can avoid it in Morrowind by delaying the quest. What even is your argument at this point?
The Whiterun guard spells out nearly fucking everything to you straight away.
