Knights are legitimately OP in chess, not even joking.
They can cross enemy borders, snatch a kill or two and safely return at ease. The only downfall is that they're not good at checking, but that's it - nothing else.

Normally, it's just polite to surrender if you know your chances are next to none. This is par for the course in professional chess, and at least for people who are knowledgeable in the game.

my favorite strat is going for people's flanks, suicide a bishop into the corner, they will almost always eat your bishop with their rook if you take the pawn right in front of it, then take the rook with a queen.
this is a kill shot that will get less experienced players.

i'll give you a tip: it's called shuffling. basically, you move a piece around arbitrarily to try and read your opponent. the most basic shuffle is moving a pawn up, but a pawn can't be moved back obviously. better to shuffle with knight and bishop.

a lot of chess is reacting to your opponent and forcing them to make sacrifices which usually requires a sacrifice of your own.
