Normally, I object to HD remakes, but I think the way to go with Mario Party is to release a Mario Party: Classics Collection, which includes graphical updates of the N64 Mario Party games with online multiplayer

People clearly have a problem with the current cart model. I don't know about the quality of the current MP's minigames, but the old ones are tried and true. I think releasing a rerelease collection would allow Hudson (or whoever makes them now) step back and realize what people enjoy about Mario Party, while letting younger audiences experience the older Mario Party games.

even if you argue that "it's the friends that make it fun", well guess what, every kid that would have played MP on the N64 has grown up now and it's likely that their friends moved away for/after college, and they'd like to stay in touch over video games, like the people who play Halo together on Xbox or CoD together on Playstation or Overwatch on PC. Every other company gets that friends play together online except Nintendo who has routinely fucked this up with everything except Smash (which was still really fucked with Brawl and a little fucked with 4) and Kart which is the only online they've succeeded with.

Friends can't always come over to your couch. The convenience of online has made playing video games together much easier. My best friend in HS was on Xbox Live with me every night playing games, it would not have been possible for me to do this without online because he lived far out of town and there's no way I could afford the gas to make the trip to his house that often.

You're a fucking moron if you don't see the value of online and pretend that "couch co-op is the only important way to play a game" because it's not. It's certainly the best way, but it's not always feasible in reality.

Nothing would change playing Mario Party online if there's voice chat. I'm not sitting here punching my friends in the arm and rubbing their dicks, all we need is a service to play the game and a way to shit-talk each other when they fuck up a dice roll or a minigame.

Lel you must be so underaged. Maybe in that 12-15 year old range when you're trying to distance yourself from kids but aren't old enough to have a sense of identity/self-worth. All of my friends still play Mario party/Pokemon stadium minigames/anything with fun, nostalgia and bragging rights involved. When you and your friends grow a little older you'll get it I'm sure.
