So I'm playing through Blood and Wine right now and an idea hit me. Actually it hit me last year when I first visited Novigrad, but I remembered it again right now.

The idea is a massive, "open world" type wrpg, only set inside a single massive city. When I was first questing in Novigrad last year I thought it was pretty cool to run around and solve local problems, help the populace, have all the shops right next to me and such.

Would you guys consider buying a game like that? Maybe you're playing as an adventurer, or a member of the city guard, or a guild leader or whatever. Despite it taking place in one city, it'd be a huge fucking city. Think something with a scope like the Witcher 3, but basically condensed. There'd be multiple levels of roads, streets, bridges. Tons of shops, npc, quests, and enter-able houses. Inns everywhere seeing as cities usually have multiple inns.

At first I was thinking of it being some sort of fantasy setting as well, but then I remembered that cancelled Star Wars game that took place in the lower parts of Coruscant. 1313 I think the game was called. So maybe it would work better as a sci-fi rpg?

What do you guys think? What would work, or not work?

>Would you buy The Witcher 3 with a more convenient shop layout?

That's why I never go back there. With the grandmaster armorer, I just vendor everything to him.

>3DPD
Fuck off

Does the grandmaster give the best prices for items sold to him?

He's pretty good. The best thing about him is how much money he has. Then again, I was a complete dumbass that didn't break down the high level materials and ingots I had for the specialty metal.

made for my bbc

Awesome. I'll sell all my shit to him now.

But what's your take on the idea I had about a massive city based RPG?

post more titcow

That's the only picture of tit cow I have.

Give it a discworld coat of paint and you've got a deal I just want to be a nights watch man shit

what's the best pornstar that closely resembles christina hendricks?

What's discworld?

By having it set in a city there doesn't need to be a bullshit save the world type plot. Could be a comfy game too.

Mal malloy

She doesn't do porn.

Cozy novel series spanning different characters all set in the same universe. One of the series focuses on what is essentially the police of this melting pot of a town called Ank Morpork. So they have to like break up fights and solve murders perpetrated by like elves and dwarves, you name it.

What? That sounds fucking awesome. I'll read it after Calamity.

Didn't Assassins Creed do that already though? It was fun at first but shit gets dull after some time. If i wanna see big gray buildings I'd just step outside

have a map to get your bearings on me

add Gwent, and maybe other minigames

my nigga

Not really. There's a ton of space outside the cities in Ass creed, with almost nothing to do. My idea is more similar to the Witcher than that.

There'd be a ton of minigames I'd think. I mean it's a city, you'd have to find shit to do all over the place.

>City Guard

I'd play that.

What would you personally want in a game like that?

Honestly? Just city guard doing city guard stuff. Stop a robbery here and there, go on patrols and maybe foil some insidious plots. Maybe sometimes the city gets attacked or other events like that including drought and mass migration.

Maybe your goal is to be a captain of the watch or something similar?

Jesus. That's a lot of books.

I like that. Maybe the city guard can be a side quest type of thing, with more emphasis on patrolling and exploring the city.

The Watch novels are among the best imo, although its great seeing what goes on in the big fucking tower that all the wizards are cooped up in.

So Watch or Rincewind are your best starting places

Yeah, that could work. I feel like it would be fun to have a city guard game, but I imagine it would be boring at times, especially if you're just on watch.

Maybe, but not the Witcher, that game needs the wilderness, and Novigrad felt like it was big enough.

What I really want is a Witcher game where you play as a witcher during normal times, not during a massive war, or at least without any world ending threats. In the Witcher 3, my favorite parts of the game was A) hanging out with Ciri, Dandelion and the rest of the gang, B) doing the monster hunting side-quests and C) just roaming the world. I didn't care for the giant epic fights in dungeons and shit, every game has those. I loved the Witcher 3, but part of me wishes that the first half had been spent looking for Yennifer, the second half looking for Ciri, and that the Wild Hunt was only a minor villain in the grand scheme of things and the looking for loved ones being the main goal instead of having to then save the whole world.

Actually, now that I think about it, Cyberpunk 2077 might actually be one giant city.

>A big open world game dat has EVERYTHING! Set in a huge massive city that has so many levels, and quests, and stores, and npcs, and enterable houses and EVERYTHING.

Yeah, like we all haven't dreamt about this once or heard it all before teeny. We all grow out of it, it isn't anything special. Games like these aren't made for a reason, because you simply can't make a game this big and expect nothing to go wrong or expect it to run.

I'd play it

It's simplified with no job participation (lods of career options though and girls to match) but there's a waifu sim with that kind of setting, pic related

Yeah and Assassins Creed isn't exactly the "go-to" game for... well, anything.
>captcha 600
Muh six gorillion

Okay. I'll start there then. Thanks for the advice. Always looking for novels to read.

You'd have the ability to join the watch. Sort of like a guild.

Same here. I fucking hate save the world shit since everything does it now. Back in 2007 I fell in love with Mass Effect. I was hoping for a space rpg, but nope. Reapers, fuck you. That's why I'm enjoying blood and wine right now. I'm just traveling around, doing any quest I see and not even touching the main quest.

C'mon man. It's just a discussion. I'm aware of the reasons why a game like that might never come out, doesn't mean I don't wanna talk about it.

Is it in english?

>You'd have the ability to join the watch. Sort of like a guild.

That's something to look forward to.

I think Ass Creed is boring, but 4 was fun mainly because of the pirating. That shit was great.

Other than a city watch, what other type of guilds would you like to see?

I think you should have some sort of crime solving element. One that doesn't hold your hand too much but isn't cryptography.

Isn't this just Dragon Age 2?

Well, I'd say the Merchant's and Alchemist's Guilds might be fun too.

If I remember correctly, did you have to load different parts of the city separately? I don't remember if it was seamless, but I didn't think it was

I'd kill for a sandbox city 3rd person RPG set in Fallen London, with an expansion bringing the underground sailing of Sunless Sea into the mix.

This reminds me heavily of Mournhold

That was the shit in Morrowind, loved the "big city" theme

Sound like what I think Cyberpunk 2077 could be like.

Those ideas were similar to what CDPR was planning for Cyberpunk 2077 (allegedly).

Will it actually come to fruition? Probably not.

ive wanted this idea to exist for a long time

the writing of fallen london is god-tier

Tbh her eyes grab my attention more than her tits

Always wanted a proper Kowloon game where you could visit every room.

DUDE ZEE LMAO
Fuck off.

It was called Dragon Age 2 and it was a hairy ass with poop stuck in the hair.

>Kirkwall
>massive

A detective guild? Sounds neat actually. Not a fan of those myself really, but then again you don't have to like every part of a game.

Oh is it? That sounds right up my valley. Day one purchase in 2020 if that's the case.

One isn't enough for her. She needs at least 3 in order to feel satisfied.
Depends on who makes the game.

"no"

Zalty.

Wasn't there some guy on the docks who would buy every trash item you had for an insane amount of money? I

That one guy buys everything for full price, but has like 500 gold on him at a time.

>Depends on who makes the game.
Let's just assume the developer of this is competent.

It wasn't. You fast traveled places from the map, and large interior buildings also needed loading. I think a lot of Kirkwall was connected by doors though.

i sold all my discworld stuff the year prachett died
had some neat supplementary stuff like the maps and such. kinda wish i didn't, but now i want audio book versions of them

Anyone else disappointed that she only wears push up bras? Why doesn't she ever just wear a nice natural looking bra? Or better yet, go braless.

that's basically Dragon Age 2

Isn't DA2 instanced for the most part?

Now we're talking...

I like the game, but I absolutely hate how this company nerfs anything that improves your life.

Put brothels in the game. A shitton of brothels.

Why would they nerf something like that in a single player game?

...

Man, I wish I could cuddle Christina Hendricks.

There should be, yes.

those veins on those titties are turning me on.

>inb4 mentioning soulsborne in a w3 thread
I really enjoyed anor londo and yharnam and how they were these huge expansive labyrinthine cities. I always wanted an environment liek that rather than another rpgs with nothing but a countryside with a couple half assed villages

Can I mod it back in?

why did she marry a little mexican man?
