THAT part of the game

>MMBN1 Power Plant
>If you take too long in this level you won't recover health between battles anymore
>By the way this level has invisible paths, tons of backtracking and trial and error puzzles
>You also can't leave the area to get better chips or items
>Elecman does a shit ton of damage in a single hit
>You also have to fight Protoman right after him with no chance to save
>Protoman also does a shit ton of damage

I know its the first game and its unrefined but damn it seems like if you actually saved in that area it would be ridiculously easy to get trapped in a bad position.

>mmbn5 samurai castle exists
Power plant not that bad.

>MMBN4 Metal Man rock crushing exists

Every game has its bad scenarios but jeez.

>Iceball M

There's always THAT part in every game.

Literally everything in BN4. Ever see EPM' s LP?

What's THAT part for BN2 or 6?

Why was Battle Network so based?

Good human and characters and unrivaled combat customization.

Best battle gameplay on the playground

Damn shame all the other kids only played Pokemon

Magnetman in 2, and Spoutman's segment in 6.

>MagnetMan
Uhh, I know that music can drive you crazy but MagnetMan was quite tolerable. FreezeMan is THAT part of BN2, DrillMan from BN3 was on the same level.

As for 6, AquaMan's scenario was pretty tame, I'd say THAT PART was either CircusMan or Colonel's scenario. Fuck the soul weapons.

>Gee Chaud! How come your mom let's you pilot 4 Bass.exes?

>>If you take too long in this level you won't recover health between battles anymore
It tells you that, but as soon as the battery dies, you're given the ability to recharge it so that you recover health again.

Only time I just said "fuck it" and used a guide. Fucking switch puzzles...

...

...

Redsun/Bluemoon had that section where you needed like 3 BlckBmb chips, it was such a pain in the ass.

...

...

...

I don't remember Elecman being too hard. It was having to fight Protoman afterward that was the real pain. But even then Protoman isn't nearly as hard as in the later games (aside from 5 where he's the first boss fight and is insanely gimped)

These are great

Didnt he actually break the pet doing that, or was it from something else.

I've been replaying the series and decided on a whim to compile the Humor program jokes. I don't have 6's yet, though.

The PET broke earlier in the story from Flash Man's Shining Browser Crasher attack.

...

Ah, the Style System, where if you made any kind of movement at all your sprite would flash to a colored version of the normal sprite before dropping back into your style when idle. Capcom sure was lazy.

Details on every npc. Each npc have their own story, that little details. Felt like they enjoy making Battle Network games.

So comfy.

I wish we got more battles against purple navis rather than being just viruses most of the time

>there's a dude stalking a woman in the real world too
>by the end of the game the two navis get together
>real world dude's still stalking
I like to imagine those navis belong to those two people

Holy shit, Megaman so fucking based.

Wow, I never saw that Wood Bug style. Gotta say, I think I prefer that darker color to the lighter greens. Bug colors look pretty neat in general I think. Also, normal type looks kind of bizarre with styles.

Being able to examine the environment and background objects. RPGs that let you do that are the best.

>Jack into gameboy
>"What's it like being inside the latest handheld?"
>"Feels like I'm inside a PET."

I wish there's BN game that let me play as either standard green or purple navis.

What a waste. Capcom really do hate money.

And they fully work, too.
Just a side effect of how the style system was programmed, I guess. There's no Hub Shadow, Hub Ground, or Hub Bug because Hub Style didn't exist in BN3. (Was replaced with Hubbatch NaviCust Program)

Technically you can in Battle Chip Challenge..
>mfw playing as Bass in 4.5
Doesn't even make any sense, why would Bass willingly let himself be controlled by a human? I hear he constantly insults the player, though.

Truly one of my favorite game series, I try to emulate one every year or so. Really wish something new had a similar battle style.

Well fuck, might as well learn japanese.

There's no NormalNavis in 4.5

Styles were superior

Why do you have to torture me so?
It could've been a perfect navi simulation. I rather meet Megaman cast rather than playing as them.

>Follow me, Dex!
>Yessir!
>Where the heck are you going!?

This is the playable cast of 4.5
Most have to be unlocked

>BubbleMan Ω

When you play 4.5, do the Navis act like you are their operator, or are you playing as like Lan and Mayl operating their normal Navis?

You are their operator. You put in your name, age, gender, occupation, and the date at the start of the game.
And occasionally your Navi will ask you other stuff like "What's your favorite TV show?" or "What's the name of your crush?."

I don't think any of it affects anything, though.

How does Roll react to having a dude operating her?

Will she react if I put her name as my crush?

Humans can't falls in love with a navi, user.

>seaman with combat and netnavis

I need this holy shit.

I'll make it work somehow, dammit.

The translation patch available is extremely basic, and most dialogue is just gibberish at this point, so I can't tell you. The only thing I noticed when I toyed around was that she called me "user-kun." Pic related.

based

>Starman
Ah yes the fuckboy of netnavis, I'd jack into him if you know what I mean.

The fact that it's been almost 12 years since this game came out and we still don't have a translation patch upsets me.

>That Roll
I had a sudden urge to lick so hard.

BeastMan has remained my favorite Navi. I wish there was a cross style with him.

Don't lick my waifu.

Wait, did it get increasingly insane with each game?

The lack of interest is probably because to fully enjoy the game you needed to have the Battle Chip Gate peripheral and physical chips to go with it.
It's fully playable without it, though. And someone's made a hack to turn the battle system back into the traditional one from the other games.

Yes. Yes it did.

Both patches are also compatible.

>And someone's made a hack to turn the battle system back into the traditional one from the other games.
Why would anyone do that? Whoever that person really missing the point.

>Still no new MMBN/SF for the 3DS

>Cross soul beast out beasman

My guess is that each style had a element as a focus and that is why some fo them look weird on normal

>we'll likely get a MM game based on the MoA Cartoon that'll be worse than MN9 as it is now
>it exists solely to spite Inafune for leaving and Fans for not buying 100 Trillion Copies of every Mega Man Game ever made, including Japan-Only ones
>MN9 will still end up being worse

>BUBBLE MAN

SlashMan's pretty close

>JAPAN MAN

>CHESS MAN

Why does Crapcom have to hold MM and Phoenix Wright hostage?

Fuck.

Nothing in 6 was really annoying, I can't remember any of the scenarios causing me to consider suicide like that fucking samurai castle shit or literally anything in Battle network 4

Phoenix Wright? I thought there have been a lot of (good?) games coming out for him.

I don't remember either, but there must be something.

There are, but some of Capcom's choices are annoying.

They refuse to translate AAI2 and the new DGS, and Dual Destinies was only a digital release in the west.

>2016
>STILL no Mega Man BN revival that lets you build a navi and play with it in your SmartPhone
>Not even a barebones game where you pick a navi to operate with Battle Chip Challenge or Real operation Gameplay

JUSTIFY THIS

The Digital release is of DD is more or less a non-issue. If anything it makes more sense to them since everyone who wants to play is required to buy straight from them and not pick up a used copy from FUCKING GAMESTOP or some shit

"The sounds of gunfire my lullaby"
Megaman has seen some shit

[death shudder]

Anyone got that image of wright tied to a chair when Lan throws his pet?

>>STILL no Mega Man BN revival that lets you build a navi and play with it in your SmartPhone
>>Not even a barebones game where you pick a navi to operate with Battle Chip Challenge or Real operation Gameplay
The best I can get was playing BCC with emulator on my phone. It filled the void, but knowing the truth always hurts.

No Real Operation on phone is the most painful.

6? The fucking Bugfrag zones when Megaman runs away were the worst

That seems more like an autistic observation if anything. Can't be that noticeable.

I don't remember that part, better replay the game then.

When you're in shadow style, that's pretty noticeable.

i love the shit ragdolls from that game

>the Powie joke

It's only not noticeable if you're using Custom style, since there's barely a change.
The rest of the style's it's pretty damn obvious whenever you move or use some kind of chip and a large chunk of Mega Man just reverts to normal before reverting back.

you could get some enemies to go flying ridiculously far with an overkill hit, was pretty funny

>he vent from bed to verse

okay wow

the best is a dramatic moment then your guys arc back and spaz the fuck out

>JUSTIFY THIS
Capcom hates money.

Fuck capcom, thats all I really can say.

I love Megaman and all its lore and characters in every iteration of the series, but capcom capped it and dumped him to side projects and stupid shit like sm4sh.

Mega Man's model in Sm4sh is pretty good though. One wonder if they're going to use it in anything else.

Comfy thread won't last long.

>JUSTIFY THIS

The team behind BN mostly left to another company, I think.

Best Style/Soul/Cross? Mines Colonel
dat tank arm

I have a soft spot for Tomahawk Soul/Tomahawk Cross.
I've also learned to like Knight Soul. I wasn't planning on using it too much in my most recent playthrough of 5 but ended up using it a lot.

ARE YOU FINISHED WITH THOSE ERRANDS?

Whenever Colonel.EXE did that cape throw move it was the sickest shit.
