Fuckin' this. As much as I liked standard RPGs, FF7's opening was something different, and being plunged back into that "traverse the overworld and go from town to town" crap again was jarring and unwelcome after being shown something new.

I'm pretty sure you could get away with much more today then you could back. Around gen 6 basically anything could be put in a game. In earlier days games were still considered to be mostly for children and censorship was strict, blood, religion, sexually suggestive text or iimages, alcohol, and even just refrences to death had to be removed.
