Some more info from Famitsu: >The game is currently in the polishing and balance adjustments phase. They’re doing the overall finishes. >Rather than have come from a different world, the Final Fantasy characters that appear in World of Final Fantasy have lived in the world of Grymoire from the very beginning. There are also some unexpected combinations of characters that are acquainted with each other. >The game is being made to be played relatively carefree. They’re implementing a system so that you can return to the town from within a dungeon at any time, as well as immediately return back to the dungeon. >Getting defeated in battle will only send you back home. You won’t lose money or any of the items you have. It’s being balanced so you can battle recklessly, more or less. >Leaving out Mirage training and side elements, the story alone is over 100 hours long. >The volume of the game is equivalent to a numbered Final Fantasy. >There are full sub stories and events with Final Fantasy characters, too. >Event scenes can be fast-forwarded or skipped. >While you’re encouraged to bulldoze through battles early on, battles will become difficult from the middle of the game onward if you don’t consider attributes. >There are over 200 Mirages that appear in the game. Since Mirages will get lonely if you don’t use them, they’re making adjustments to the game so that you can train all of them. >Square Enix wants to make figures based on World of Final Fantasy.
Why do the MCs switch between KH mode and chibi mode?
Ryan Stewart
>the story alone is over 100 hours long. >is over 100 hours long. >100 hours long This was unexpected
Cooper Harris
How is this game turning out to be so promising And its down right adorable
Nathaniel Peterson
>Lightning gets bullied finally some real fan service
Cameron Ross
So a baby game to introduce the franchise to kids?
I mean, all FF games are casual shit but this goes the extra mile.
Also, fuck off with chibi shit this is not a 3ds
Daniel Jackson
>Undead Princess from CC: Echos of Time is in this.
Holy shit, nice.
Jaxon Campbell
>Hear Vivi >Where the fuck have I heard that voice? >OH SHIT

Oh, great. Guilt trips.

Refia!?
Matthew Nguyen
I'm legit more hyped for this game than anything else Square's currently making. It's what I've wanted to happen since Dissidia came out.
Ayden Reyes
Where can I see footage of actual battles? The ones I've seen seem terribly obfuscated, like, you see like one second of it, in between shots of cutscenes, and that one shot is someone casting a spell or something, you don't see menus or stats or anything. It's like they're ashamed of the fact that it is (supposedly) turn based so they're doing their best to keep it low profile.
Ethan Gutierrez
>they're even referencing shit games oh yes
Robert Cox
damn this looks great
Austin Peterson
Yup.
Mason Martinez
I'm more shocked that Shelke is in this. (and that SE actually acknowledged DoC outside of Gackt)
It could be a really good, traditional Final Fantasy game, or it could be absolute shit, especially judging from the Kingdom Hearts style designs in certain scenes, which is a decent hint that the game will be cringeworthy Disneycrap.
Hunter Green
I thought I recognized her, but I wasn't sure if she was an original character or something. The fact that they're pulling references that even I don't recognize has me even more excited to see what stupid shenanigans we can expect. Hell, just seeing Faris won me over.
Dylan Morgan
If this is basically Mystic Quest (i.e. beginner's FF) for the 21st century, I hope they have some dope-ass music like this: youtube.com/watch?v=NOTI8j1egZg
Jonathan Watson
Is that the girl from III?
Jayden Harris
Cool, thanks.
Austin Carter
The remake of III. None of the main characters from the DS version were in the original game, which makes it an interesting pull, considering the Dissidia games just use a generic Onion Knight as a rep.
Juan Stewart
Shut up Boco
Owen Wood
Yep
From what I remember, Luneth is an Alt costume of OK in Dissidia
Xavier Kelly
I think the rhythm game for FF also had onion knights available;le, and If i recall in the remake they did add onion knight as a class.
Asher Ward
Yes sir...
Alexander Anderson
I hope it actually feels like an adventure with memorable areas and events, and not just padded mission-based shit.
Aiden Lewis
>Begging for Friend Codes on GameFAQs so that I could finally unlock the Onion Knight class
God help you if you played on an emulator. Fuck that class so hard.
Brody Lewis
Now I want Benjamin to show up in this game
Evan Campbell
I emulated it last year, and didn't even bother after reading how to obtain it. Definitely one of my favorite DS games though. Wish they put the same effort into their 5 and 6 remakes instead of churning out ugly mobile garbage.
Ryder Cruz
These chibi girls are somehow arousing
Cooper Sanders
>all the mainline game VAs next to literal whos
The difference in quality is so jarring
Evan Nguyen
Celes is fat! FAT!
James Wood
So when can we expect Edgar x Lightning doujins?
Grayson Evans
Should have emulated the PSP version. Makes everything accessible without friend code nonsense and upscales decently to HD.
Sebastian Williams
>vita release
thank god
i dont want to buy a ps4
Nolan Green
I'm waiting for some Faris x Quistis drawings

Juan Mitchell
I've been a bad boy desu
Lucas Lopez
>(and that SE actually acknowledged DoC outside of Gackt) this is why i am concerned Remake will still treat Compilation as canon and include shit referencing fucking DoC which would cause me physical pain
Brayden Kelly
Looks good. Maybe this is the year SE finally delivers with some decent games. Who am I kidding Sup Forums will bitch about them anyways.
Ayden Roberts
It's on psp? When the fuck? I ended up buying this on my phone. Still fun.
Matthew Powell
They referenced Crystal Bearers? Will they reference My Life As A Darklord?
Nathan Butler
Looking better than Bravely Default. Awesome.
Hunter Russell
PSP versions of 1,2, 3, and 4 are the definitive versions of Final Fantasy by a landslide. They fact that they're all widescreen is even better.
I bought it on my phone but wound up emulating it so I could play it more easily on a TV with a controller in hand.
Andrew Gutierrez
It's not like I wake up and WANT to hate videogames. But if it's not good then we have to acknowledge that.
Noah Jackson
Looks fucking abysmal. Genuinely complete shit.
Parker Rodriguez
>being a chibi chaser in 2016
Anway it sounds like the game is going to be too easy and kind of shitty because of it. I wonder if the story is long because of all the hijinks or if it's just to introduce all the characters. But I'm probably going to get it because it's just so cute and it has all my favorite monsters.
Evan Bennett
THE FUCKING UNDERWATER RESEARCH LAB AND BALAMB GARDEN IS IN IT Day1 Collectors Edition preporder
Xavier Young
You have that backwards. If you think this looks good you probably love funko pops and therefore need to go back2reddit yourself
Luis Cox
>Take KH >remove the disney element
I'm ok with this
Wyatt Perry
What recent FF game hasn't been easy? Even Bravely Default was super trivial. At least this seems to have actual content over not being finished with a rushed plot. I feel like it will be enjoyable, more if you played a lot of FF games.
William Wright
>PSP versions of 1,2, 3, and 4 are the definitive versions The psp version of I to III are but IV on the DS is the best version
Angel Diaz
try harder, edgelord
Hunter Miller
>100 hours jesus, why
Mason James
I didn't say anything edgy. In fact it blows my fucking mind right now that you retards complain endlessly day after day about how "Nintoddlers" like "games for babies" and here we are with a genuine fucking baby game with Little People versions of FF characters running around and you think that's just fine
like why not just admit you are hypocrites
Alexander Moore
FFVIIR is confirmed to include the Compilation stuff, so it's unsurprising they're acknowledging it.
Jackson Sanders
85 hours of shit prerendered cutscenes/battle animations or pointless conversations, 5 hours load times, 10 hours of game
William Clark
I'll agree with you that IV on DS is a better challenge, but I prefer the chill difficulty and extra content of the PSP version.
Alexander Butler
I did like when he shrunk to avoid the monster
Elijah Jenkins
FF games in general have always been easy (the mainline games at least) with the exception of a few bosses per game.
Justin Allen
FF13 was genuinely difficult. But that was moreso because a boss or large enemy could at any time decide to just wipe out your party during the fight
John Long
>chibi >combat seems shit and slow >artstyle hideous in general >record keeper made 3d
absolute garbage
Grayson Perry
The Compilation IS canon to the remake. Nomura already said as much.
Adam Ross
>What recent FF game hasn't been easy 13 would have had a few difficult moments if they decided to make dying of any actual consequence.
Mason Campbell
well it's not like they are making any effort whatsoever on the character models so I guess the effort had to go somewhere.
Daniel Davis
Yeah, mostly optional bosses. If you want hard jrpgs, play PS2 smt games.
Ehhhh, not really. You just needed the right skills. Thing is, the auto battle really ruins that game. Makes it feel less like your actually doing anything because its more efficient to auto battle than to input skills individually
Samuel Cooper
>Leaving out Mirage training and side elements, the story alone is over 100 hours long. Doubt this, they said in that interview that WoFF is as long as a mainline FF story, mainline FF story is 40-50 hours long.
>this actually looks better than XV and VIIR It looks good but don't get carried away.
Aaron Gomez
See and tell me that's not edgy. Go on, I'll wait.
Jonathan Martinez
People keep bringing up visual style, why was Bravely Default okay? The main party members are modeled normally.
Michael Martinez
>This will outsell FFXV
Hunter Green
The artstyle of the chibi characters reminds me of Puchim@s
Ryan Rogers
you wish
Landon Reed
>Faris Day 1 purchase
Jace Anderson
No it won't, it won't even outsell Type-0.
Nathan Gutierrez
>You just needed the right skills Same could be said for any "difficult" JRPG. There's pretty much always a weakness to exploit in an enemy, you just have to learn what it is. Going into FFXIII completely blind, I'd expect there to be quite a few moments where you get game over.
Jaxson Taylor
Oh shit, spinoff characters are in. Quick what other spinoff characters would Sup Forums like to see in this game?
Landon Gutierrez
Nomura is welcome to say that. Doesn't mean all the massive plotholes and multiple conflicting retcons can actually be fit into the original plot without ripping people right out of the immersion when their brain goes "Hang on, this shit was not fucking here before"
I can put up with Angeal, as the Buster Sword wasn't given any prior backstory, and I can put up with the Zack parts of CC since he wasn't given much backstory either.
But when you get into the REALLY stupid shit like Deepground and G-Files, Genesis being in the Reactor scene, Hollander and all that, the best thing they could possibly do is just forget it and never reference it again. It didn't fit into the canon when it came out and it still wouldn't today.
the list of dumb shit they would have to re-retcon AGAIN in VII Remake just to cram it in where it didn't exist before just goes on and on, Compilation was a fucking mistake and despite some of the new characters being "alright" like Cissnei, the majority of compilation is fucking stupid and i don't want it anywhere near Remake
fuck what nomura says
he didn't write FFVII and he should not have been put in charge of it, he is a fucking awful writer
Elijah Morales
...
Julian Rodriguez
>fuck what nomura says Nomura was the base story writer on FF7, Nojima and Kitase both fleshed out his original story by mixing it with the lifestream concept that Sakaguchi came up with. Nojima also wrote AC with Kitase, he wrote CC and he's on FF7R along with Kitase. Kitase himself was the producer on the entire compilation and he was director on FF7 itself.
Asher Barnes
Bravely Default's artstyle was consistent, in the same way FF3 DS's "chibi" artstyle was consistent.
Everything was "short n squishy lookin" in BD, and they were designed well within that style. They did not look like Funko Pop toys, like these do.
>The main party members are modeled normally. nope, they also turn chibi if there is a larger monster/character in the party.
>Nomura was the base story writer on FF7 Wrong.
>Planning sessions for Final Fantasy VII began in 1994 after the release of Final Fantasy VI. At the time, the game was intended to be another 2D project for the Super NES.[39] Series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi originally planned for the story to take place in New York in the year 1999, and as such, the original script of Final Fantasy VII, which was written by Sakaguchi, was completely different from the finished product. Tetsuya Nomura recalled how Sakaguchi "wanted to do something like a detective story." The first part of the story involved a "hot blooded" character named "Detective Joe" who was in pursuit of the main characters, after they had blown up the city of Midgar, which had already been developed for the story.[40] The final scenario was written by Kazushige Nojima and Yoshinori Kitase, based on the story by Sakaguchi and Nomura.[41] Masato Kato was brought into the project later and wrote three scenes for the game.
According to this, Sakaguchi wrote the story, and Nomura squeezed himself into sharing credit for tweaking it or something (nowhere does it say Nomura wrote shit, don't know why he is credited), and then the two actual VII scenario writers took over and made the game while Nomura was primarily just a character and monster designer, just like FFVI. that was the only role he was competent in.
>Kitase himself was the producer on the entire compilation and he was director on FF7 itself. And most of the bad parts are from input by Nomura and Nojima, like Genesis
Chase Fisher
...
Levi Sanchez
>mfw it turn out to be shit
Noah Parker
>Wrong. No it isn't.
Nomura and Sakaguchi were both base story writer.
Nomura created the actual original plot, characters and setting, Sakaguchi created the lifestream concept. Then Nojima, Kato and Kitase fleshed out the story as writers.
Noah Rogers
>Nomura created the actual original plot, characters and setting No he didn't.
Charles Hill
Yes he did. Also see Read the fucking Ultimania and interviews.
Thomas Ross
I hope this crazy guy is in the game.
Zachary Rivera
Why would he not be? Chibis and shortstacks are da bes.
Cameron Ross
Mah nigga
Aiden Gutierrez
>Marche is in Why did they reveal the final boss?
Evan Smith
I don't care cuz you're linking a post I didn't make. Maybe-- stop me if this sounds crazy-- maybe more than one person sees this game as the fisher price FF playset that it is????? hard to believe i know
