If you like the other MGS games do not buy it, you'll only be left with disappointment. If you like Far Cry 3-4 and think a third person version of that, with more grinding sounds good to you, then go for it.

I think 1 had some better maps, but 2 is probably best overall.

Played most of splinter cell games and loved chaos theory, though. Double agent was a mistake, conviction is an abomination.
And far cry 1 and 2. Loved 1 for monsters and shit, couldn't finish 2.

MGSV has no story, I know this is pretty memetic but I mean it. You can add or remove MGSV from the canon and it would literally change nothing from the MGS storyline, thats how pathetic the story is.

Too bad I spent all of today downloading Unity because I was in the mood for more AC to find out everyone wasn't lying when they said it was garbage. It was interesting to see how Big Boss grew and became who he was in later games. The supporting cast of MGS4 was good? You mean all the ham-fisted characters thrown in for forced nostalgia?

Pretty damn fun and the movement is very solid, but there is obviously some things inherent that cause problems because it was made to be played on a controller.

If 3 was your first one then you wouldn't be very lost. It's a solid standalone story. Yeah, being familiar with the characters helps you understand their later portrayals but it's not necessary to appreciate them in the prequel.

MGSV really fucked up Ocelot's character, though. I barely recognized him.

This thread is about series of games. ME1 didn't have any sequels. ME2 and ME3 are a totally separate series of games in a different genre with different mechanics and poor writing. They are basically fanfics. So him saying ME2 is best makes sense because ME2 is only in a series with its sequel ME3 and its slightly less shit.
