hero cards are shit when you can't buff em to do double damage and then stack em with other of the same card to stack more damage.

Spy cards are godly. Decoys are godly against spy decks to use their spys against them.

It's a toss up between Nilfgaard and Northern Realms. Northern Realms is a bit more predictable with all those handshake minions.

That's how all my games go. First two rounds are spies/decoys ahoy, with some melee units to ensure at least one round win. Then I fill up my siege line, making sure to keep one of them slightly higher than the others to protect them all from scorch.

The tournament quest in Novigrad was the worst thing in the game

I had a Northern Kingdoms deck with all four spies, 3 decoys, all the handshake units, and a bunch of hero cards, and it still took me like 6 tries to beat Sasha

Frost destroys the entire deck, and even then it's basically a "blow my whole load on a single round" deck, which is at the same time just plain inferior to NR when it comes to dropping fuck tons of damage in one turn.

You want to use spies/decoys to build up a big hand, and use melee and ranged cards to win one round. In the second use whatever melee, ranged and hero cards you still have to force them to use their cards to beat you. Then in the third round use a fuck ton of siege cards and the siege master leader card to win. Also keep one card at a higher power than the rest, having a big group of powerful cards get totally fucked by a single scorch.

Monster deck players blow whole deck to create great composition that can be nullified by a frost. Then that card that destroys strongest unit if power is >10 can clear out whole melee row.
I don't understand who balanced this shit. I 100% convinced only reason I won against Nilf in B&W is because he used a suboptimal deck.

I lost the first gwent game, I didn't know what the fuck was going on. Never played after that. 22 hours playtime.

That was my first experience as well, didn't start playing Gwent until second playthrough about 100 hours in.

It was only then I discovered how fun it actually was.

I've seen some casual posts in my time but you take the cake.

Kambi + Cerys + Light Longships destroyed pretty much everyone.

You can use your Longships again next round by decoying one of them back in your hand and using the leader ability.

I beat Sasha on my 2nd or 3rd try and only because I fucked up and misplayed the first time. Hlafling dude, fuck him, I had to postpone this whole quest because of him.

I rarely give them the first round but I do give them the second pretty often to play it safe

the A.I is stupid if you give them the first round they will almost always end the 2nd early and allow it to go to a third and if you can make it to the third with siegemaster folest its a damn near 100% chance to win

giving up 1st round against anything but Nilf is usually worthless. They tap out while I place my spies and clearing the board or matching strength is usually a trivial matter.
Taking 1st round is a great way to bleed them in second one.

I win every round because I play Nilfgaard.

this + decoy is simply the strongest possible play

not for siegemaster foltest deck, you save all your shit for the last round and then blow them the fuck out only monster decks can come close to what a northern realms siegemaster deck can pull numbers wise, i got the achievement for having i think it was 180+ points in a single round

Northern blows Nilf out of the water if you counter archers/siege well enough, and there're so many 4-card combinations that utterly destroy all resistance that its viable. Especially if you pack copious amounts of horns, dandelion, and use the 'clear weather whenever' special ability for your king

also stack the cards that double for each one you have, the blue stripes commandos i have 3 of and the crinfed reavers i have 3 of then get a commanders horn + dandelion and gg

Nilf has the most card advantage of any of the factions and the strongest leader cards.

It's not awful, but you have to tailor the deck.

Ditch the berserker and mushroom cards, they are not worth bothering. Skellige key is setting up a big third round, so you should pick the cow and the other 0 cards and play them in the first round and get the opponent to spam cards. Also don't use the siege doubling unit, pick dandelion instead because the siege maidens and the hero card that spams them are top tier
