Almost every single 60gz monitor on the market today will OC to 75hz, and many can go up to 90hz. 75hz is all you need really, the noticeable difference between 75hz and 60hz is bigger than the difference between 144hz and 75hz.

How can somebody take your post seriously when you say anything besides management style games are OK at 30fps?
Your mom shouldn't have snorted coke off niggers dick during her pregnancy.

Not OP, but I would even go so far and say NO game should ever have below 60 fps, only console fags who don't know any better will think otherwise.

>acceptable

So 60hz is crucial in minesweeper?
Considering the genres I put in 30 are pretty much PC exclusive, calling me a console fag is pretty retarded

my university has a LED panel that can go up to 1200hz and is used for human reaction testing
diminishing returns aren't a real meme until about 6000hz from what i have been told

Really depends on the game. In racing sims I just can't play below 120 because you lose out a lot of information about what the car is doing and will make more mistakes. Even if I can't immediately tell the difference between 100 and 120 just looking at a replay, it's dramatic when actually cornering
Jason Ross
>diminishing returns I don't think you know what that means. Diminishing returns are "real" from like 5hz
A real 240hz monitor is coming soon for the first time since CRTs.
Landon Barnes
My KDR went from 4 to 6 literally over night when I bought a 144. And that's in BF4 which is pretty slow paced, it's even more important in faster games. You're just a casual.
Monitors have been really held back by the maximum bandwidth of HDMI/DP. DP 1.4 just released, so you're going to see a sudden increase in rez/hz now.
Chase Hill
Whats the translation between hz and fps? Does 144hz mean 144 fps? I dont know anything about monitors.

Anthony Burch thread?

hz means "Hertz" which is just a generic measurement of frequency (1 per second) In monitors hz is how often the physical screen updates, FPS is how often your graphics card renders a new frame and sends it to the screen. So they're not linked unless you use v-sync, and a 144hz screen is useless if you only reach 70 fps in games anyways
