Hey Sup Forums, I'm playing England.
What's the best strategy?
Hey Sup Forums, I'm playing England.
What's the best strategy?
Naval shit.
Spy constantly and be a giant dick to everyone you run into.
depends on the map
but england is pretty much designed to wreck shit with SOTL and longbows
what kind of map?
Let men do everything for you.
Vote leave.
Exit EU
Found and spread islam agressively.
Do whatever.
Most Civ bonuses only help a tiny bit towards a certain play style. There's only a handful of Civs whose bonuses make their plays style the defacto best way to play them.
>Map with a lot of land
Get Longbowmen, fuck up your neighbors, be a dick to everyone for the rest of the time being
Enjoy the fact that nobody can beat your army when you are on defense
>Lot of water on the map
Beeline for Navigation, make a lot of Ships of the Line and a few privateers
Be a dick, conquer your neighbours and enjoy the fact that nobody can beat you at sea until battleships
Use the extra spy to get other techs and shit, to not cripple yourself from war
Be a dick to most neighbors and war a lot
Britain is arguably one of the most fun civs to play as
submit to the mujahideen
Build your religion around fertility rites if you can get it. Go growth. Rule the land and sea.
>Tfw vote leave
Sure the economy has dropped a bit but a few years of hardship is worth the potential future. I'm sure the UK will recover and be better for it in the end.
If you're playing on deity, the extra spy is huge to not fall too much behind if you're going a longbow rush or SOTL rush.
England a fun
>leaves EU
>Divided the United Kingdom
>N. Ireland want to leave UK
>Scotland want to leave UK
>Wales have officially become little England
Poetry
underrated post
>the economy dropped a bit
What you mean ed to say is "the major stock index in the country dropped a little bit". Stocks literally trade based on emotion a lot of the time, like this event in particular.
Sounds like the most historically accurate as well
Because losing access to the EU market and cheap labor without paying is "dripping a bit" for an export based economy, right? That is, scotland and north ireland doesnt just leave.
Form alliance with other cunts, promising shekel.
Give them muslim immigrants
Th EU market isn't lost forever. The UK will eventually make new trade agreements with the EU countries that still want its exports.
Oh yeah, negotiaating all those bilateral treaties with all the european countries one by one. That surely wont take years or even decades. All while paying customs and willingly surrendering all your markets to german and french companies.
nobody plays England for fun
Spend years being economically drained by a 28 member nation union.
And then leave thinking you've still got even a fraction of the shit you used to.
Now this 27 member union will start sodomizing you.
Tough luck, you've unlocked Impossible mode.
D-don't w-w-worry. T-the e-empire will buy our p-products!! R-r-right?
Fractal so I'm not really sure yet but it should be continental-ish.
>What you be interested in a trade agreement with England?
>“Each time we have to choose between Europe and the open sea, we shall always choose the open sea.”
>Winston Churchill
Godspeed, Britons.
Ye kings of the ocean.
Lords of the waves.
Gods of the open sea.
Would*
In the long run you will be better off. Short term England is in for a rough ride. Proud of you bongs though, hopefully America does the same.
Churchill was in favour of a unified European partnership of nations, i'd look up thequotes but i'd be wasting my time.
>export based economy
You want America to leave the EU?
What this guy said. He was completely for european integration.
I guess losing scotland and north ireland counts as a pretty rough ride.
Play CBP and rape the seas.
Can someone give me overall tips on decent strategies, like what wonders/tech/buildings to aim for first. I always get too comfy that I forget I have to actually aim to win
leave the EU
Dredge up all the tea that they lost in Boston harbor, should be nice and white and crusty by now, and sell that shit to schoolkids
focus on key military techs like machinery (longbows) and use spies to catch up in economic/cultural/science techs
you should build your cities so that they'll be ready to pump out units by the time you reach key military techs, so that you can easily conquer nearby opponents and get an advantage from that
>Sure the economy has dropped a bit
not it hasn't
the value of the pound was artificially high because speculators were overly confident in a remain vote so the artificially high value + panic response makes the drop look worse than it is
plus it's already recovered to february levels so it's on its way back to normal
anyone who thinks the pound dropping is the economy going to shit is a retard desu
I'm guessing he meant something about globalization
AMERICA OUT OF EUROPE NOW
Just fuck your currency up.
in the early game you want to focus on technologies that will allow you to improve happiness resources which will allow your cities to grow, you should focus on working high food tiles in your cities during this time
a good early game opening is to go tradition, found 3-4 cities and build libraries in all your cities to allow you to build the national college in your capital, this should give you a healthy amount of science in the early game
early game wonders can be okay but desu you're better off not bothering since they require a huge investment and you can easily miss out on them, mid game (late medieval, Renaissance, industrial) are worth going for though; notre dam, chichen itza and the taj mahal are all excellent pick ups)
as the game goes on you want to grab techs based on what's happening:
a) are you going to be attacked soon? grab military techs, especially stuff like engineering (for composite bows), machinery (for crossbows) etc
b) otherwise focus on science techs; you want to be trying to build univerities, public schools and research labs as early as you can and work the specialist slots in them
c) then go for techs that have production buildings (factories, workshops) or gold buildings (currencies) based on what you need
in terms of social policies going tradition then rationalism can outright win you games so those are solid picks while you work the game out for yourself
Isn't churchill one of the major orchestrators of the eu?
Don't give up the comfy, or what's the point?
