My only complain is how they added the stupid authenticator being mandatory to sell anything on the market.

Now I don't even have a reason to do the stupid daily queue anymore.

desu i actually dont mind this sale, i got a couple games out of it, gave like 1 to like 2 friends too
i just wish i wasnt as broke so i can get more
Can someone at least explain to me why its really that bad? (i just got steam 8 months ago >.>)

what does baka censor to desu senpai?

Flash sales are gone because they'd have to deal with people refunding games that go on flash sales and then just rebuying them for cheaper.

I hate the shit too but I understand why they don't want to deal with it.

Is there any good racing or driving game for cheap on this sale? Don't care if it's old, but preferably it should have populated online or a very robust single player.

i actually put "to be honest" (in its abbreviated form) and it replaced it with desu LOL

I miss when there would be things you would have to do in the games on sale to get hats and other stuff. Made it a lot more fun.

>"I hate supporting companies so much I refuse to buy anything without a 80% discount flash."

>Money from an 80% discount is better than no money at all.
Sometimes that little extra cash I save will push me over the edge on games I wouldn't have bought.

Refunds ruined daily and flash sales. Russians during Winter Sale 2011 ruined games and giveaways during the sale

OP, fuck your bitching, let me use this shitty thread to ask a question:

Shogun 2 or S2: Fall of the Samurai or both?

Do you not have a phone or something?

Any reason why we aren't mining bitcoins for gaben like last year?

>Trusting Valve with even more personal information

...

Google Steam desktop authenticator.
I've been using it since I don't want to give out any more personal info.

>The last sale like 2 months ago was better than this

How do you fuck up this bad

>actually believing that any corporate entity whatsoever has anything but their own best interest in mind

yes

>v-valve can do no wrong guys!
>just give personal info away even if there's no logical reason to do it!
Fuck off.

What does that have to do with anything?

I've never had a Facebook because Skynet, but not even I am this paranoid

Flash sales had to go when they started doing refunds.

Blame the faggots that keep refunding every little game they get when it doesn't please them in less than two minutes.

I have a windows phone. No steam authenticator.
I got dropped a 8 dollar CSGO case, can't sell it.

Am I the only person glad they're not doing flash sales?

I'm waiting till payday to get my games so I'm pretty much set and I'd hate to miss out

No it's actually the best. You're either one of those retards who hopped in late believing the nonsense that every game was 90% off in the past or you just bought everything you were interested in during past sales and now became jaded. Take your anti-consumer garbage off my board scum...

Every single flash sale and daily sale was back on the last day anyway.

Flash sales left because most of the devs complained that they were missing out on sales due to the fact that most people were expecting them to be cheaper. Same reason the vote left. Devs didn't think it was fair.

I'm glad the votes were gone, it was annoying seeing good games at like 70% get passed up for shit like DayZ at 20%.

75% sales were VERY common for 1 year or older games till arround 2012. Since then, the publishers arent allowing their more recent but Still old games go to sale. Skyrim took nearly 3 years to get less than 15 bucks

I dunno, I've been meaning to play undertale and now I have thanks to this sale. Also picked up stardew valley so I'm pretty satisfied.

Speaking of, is it worth playing through undertale again and doing a genocide run or should I just look up the ending?

The game makes fun of you if you do that.

Also the two exclusive boss fights are the only reason to do that run anyway.

There's an unofficial authenticator for wibdows phone

any of you fucks play Titan Quest? Any good?

>be dev
>valve says steam sale soon and wants to know what discount to give our games if any
>"[number]% off should do"
>sale happens
>nobody buys because they were expecting a better deal
>"surely this is valve's fault"

I know rite, there's not even a game to play like last summer

7/10
Made me mad

Flash deals were shit, anyone with an actual job would miss one set each day entirely.

You underestimate how stupid and stubborn the steam community is.

>valve discounts game for 25%
>amazon has same game for 75% and it gives a steam key
>"oh well the amazon deal is nice but i feel more comfortable just spending my money here"

So take the day off you stupid fuck.

>Take every day of the sale off
>When you don't know what deals you'll miss or even when the sale will be beforehand

>game to play
everyone used scripts to automate it. shit played it self.

No shitface you're the one going full retard not taking the day off for a sale you could miss. Don't whine to me that you missed it because of muh job ;_: if you're not even going to fucking bother to take some initiative in your life. In fact just do us all a favor and hang yourself you're clearly too fucking stupid to exist on this planet any longer. I'm so god damned sick of you kids whining about based Gabe giving you these sweet deals solely because you're to god damned lazy to do something about snagging them on time. FUCK!

...

You take days off work for steam sales?

Keep crying fucksticks I'll just enjoy my ridiculously cheap games I got while taking paid leave.

Why the hell would anyone buy skyrim?

I work on a computer so I've always been able to keep up with the sales, but I wouldn't take the day off for them.

Every flash deal lasted for eight hours, do you not have lunch breaks where you work user?

I use my paid leave for stuff like vacations.

Summer sales ARE a vacation.

I hope you guys dont use windows, nor apple products, nor google search, google chrome, friedfox and only secure 256 bits encrypted VPN traffic goes out of your router to your ISP. Actually, you guys have programmed and review every line of code your OS, phone, MOBO and router firmware.

You had like 12 hours with the flash sales, I'm guessing you don't have a smartphone or you can't use it at work...It takes like 5-15 minutes tops to pick a game or two and buy them.

I'm not allowed to carry anything on me for my entire shift, and have no internet access on my phone there if I were to try and use it during lunch break.

Flash sales lasted for 8 hours, there were three a day.

Or when games constantly crash on start up or run like shit or are just completely awful, yeah.

My bad, still 8 hours is plenty of time unless works at Area 51 or some other bullshit job. It's not our fault you have a shitty job environment.

Also a lot of those games did go on sale every 24 hours over the week or so during past sales.

This.
People act all "muh privacy" when Valve asks for a phone number, but use windows, chrome, apple products, etc.

Plus whats the big deal about putting a phone number to your steam account? Its a phone number you are supposed to use it, when a girl asks for your number do you go "NO I DON'T KNOW YOU MUH PRIVACY".

where's the "le nothing to hide" meme?
Someone post it so I can tell you to go kill yourself

The flash sales were bigger discounts.

The only ones at fault were Valve for having a retarded sale system. There was never anything good about the flash or daily sales.

Yeah most of these deals suck ass. So many games I would buy if they went down to 5usd or so. But all I see are 25-40% off.

This is probably my 4th summer sale? I dunno. They used to have daily deals which would almost always be 80-90% off popular franchises, and quick-time flash sales that were similar.

These fostered a bunch of the hype around steam sales, as everyone would be checking the store every 12 hours for new daily or flash sale deals, constantly speculating about what the upcoming deals might be, etc.

Now it seems, at least to me, that the sales are often less than they used to be, both in magnitude and hype. Don't get me wrong, the sales are still great, knowing you will be able to get a game you want for at least 15% off as a fact is pretty cool. Just seems like they've burned out a bit.

I cant believe that there is just nothing besides the deals. The minigames achievement hunts and all that jazz is WHY I liked the sales. Now with just nothing its pointless.

I already have everything I wanted and everything I want comes out aug or later.

I found it exciting to find new shit on sale every day, the flash sales did kinda suck, but I think 8 hours is plenty of time to decide "maybe I should buy this soon"

Dirt 3.
Multiplayer is on and off but the single player is hella fun.

I have no need of a phone. Like at all. If I need to contact someone for something I just use facebook.

The sales just don't seem to be as low as they have been in the past. For example, the Assassin's Creed games are all $10 at the lowest. I distinctly remember a year ago and beyond they would routinely go for $5.00 each.

Even more recent releases aren't as heavily discounted as I would expect.

Horse fucker has autism.
Shocking.

I'm just more afraid of losing my phone than forgetting/losing my steam pass.

It DOES feel kinda fishy how Valve are asking us all for our phones now, though.

Check the fucking game online if it works you faggot.

Do I need to play the witcher 1 to play witcher 2? I see the bundle is 26$ right now, and I'm thinking about swinging that. I rarely buy single player games, but I want to support a company that seems like it actually gives a shit about the games it puts out.

I just refunded Tharsis because it was literally a 30 minute game. It looked awesome and exactly like a game I would love. But after one game I mastered it. It prided itself that winning would be both hard and luck based and that I simply couldn't do everything but after learning the mechanics it was piss easy and had no replay ability.

Refunds protect buyers from bullshit that looks good but in fact is shit.

That's like blaming Valve, they made refunds for a reason.

>cause you don't actually own anything in your library

>Even more recent releases aren't as heavily discounted as I would expect.
DOOM is 40% off and it's a fucking month old

no, it's really not fishy at all

a lot of companies use 2 factor auth, it's a common thing now

Welcome to America, unless that's not where your from; in that case fuck off.

What companies?
Not a single other company/website besides Google and Valve demanded my phone number.
I can understand Google, they're fucking evil, but what's up with Valve?

>But all I see are 25-40% off.
From the non-variable highlighted deals on the storefront there are
>1 85%
>2 80%
>5 75%
>2 70%
>1 66%
>1 60%
>6 50%
>1 40%
>1 34%
>1 30%
>2 25%
>1 20%
>2 15%

That's 18 deals of 50% or more off and 8 deals of 40% or less off.

>Not a single other company/website besides Google and Valve
user...

yeah but those are all games I don't care about P:

>P:
Fuck off.

:(

Ok let me rephrase myself.

But all I see are 25-40% off of games that look interesting to me. Even old as FUCK games like singularity that's been on my wishlist since basically the first sale has never once gone below 10usd.

Not him, but I'd always miss one, and usually the one with the game I wanted. I'm a cook and I work 10 hours no break, and I can't have my phone on me.

I took the entire week off, son

The Jews' greatest achievement isn't simply collecting everyone's personal data. It's how they somehow managed to convince a huge section of the general public that there's nothing wrong with giving away personal info online, and that those who DON'T just put themselves out there are the weird ones.

I just changed my name so it doesn't use my name
Wasn't that hard to figure out

>some games didn't even get discounts

nice final fantasy discount SE, leaving out the actually good final fantasy games like VII and IX.

does anyone actually use their fucking name on youtube?

>people forgetting that huge steam fuck up where it showed your phone number and email address to others

Doing a big giveaway at 500 members. Join up.

>steamcommunity.com/groups/saintsatan

>are you stupid enough to use your real name on youtube?

no? ok then. keep going.

This shit is the worst. I've been denied jobs because I wouldn't hand over my Facebook and shit.

A fucking grocery store wanted access to my WHOLE google profile and my Facebook because they couldn't find mine from the background check. When I told them that my work life and home life are desperate and will stay separate the guy interviewing me sighed and said that the interview was over and they would call me and I shouldn't call them.

You can just literally use your fucking phone if you are so waiting for 1 sale the entire time.

I literally used my phone to check flash sales and buy what I wanted.
How fucking stupid are you?
