How is this specific version of this? I haven't heard much about it
How is this specific version of this? I haven't heard much about it
has extra challenges hidden in a golden megaman amiibo I think
Otherwise it is the same
Same? So it has the slow down of the original games? What else is wrong with it?
The best version in my opinion
>manual scans exclusive to it I guess (haven't found scans on XOne)
>ZERO input lag. This is literally unplayable in some HDTVs/smart TVs
>portable
>extra challenges exclusive to it thanks to Amiibo
Does amiiboo work on the original 3DS XL? I don't have any
It had slowdowns on NES, this collection is a 1:1 port with no enhancements
There are sound glitches on PS4 version as far as I heard
I know, but I think the past collection on PS2/Xbox got rid of slow down
You need the NFC adapter
Can you use the regular mega man amiibo for it?
Eh, I kinda want to get it as I've never played any mega-man and I want to use my 3DS more. Probably wouldn't buy an Amiibo and shit though
Roms/emulators pack. Not worth paying for.
These were enhanced ports of each game. The PS2 had some kind of casual mode as far as I remember.
Legacy Collection is like putting your old NES carts on a 33 year old hardware...
I don't know. I have mine still wrapped up.
It's not anything special though. It's just the original 6 games run through a custom emulator. They made no attempt to enhance the original games because "MUH ORIGINAL """AUTHENTIC""" EXPERIENCE"
We have a billion ways to replicate that "authentic" experience. An enhanced version would have been far better.
And if they were going to take the emulation route, they should have "ported" the Game Boy games too to make up for the lack of Mega Man 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Mega Man Anniversary Collection sucked too. Don't even start. The only good Mega Man classic re-releases were the Complete Works versions on the PS1. MMAC is just a butchered version of those.
Yes. Both Mega Man amiibos do the same.
I'm not sure exactly how, but some of the emulation feels really bad at certain parts. I remember thinking that Star Man's stage in MM5 was particularly bad because there was some kind of extra slowdown happening, compared to the PS4 version.
>a LOT of challenges and boss rush modes
>artwork, manual scans, game concepts
>switch between US/Jap versions in-game
>database for each game
>jukebox
Literally the same as ROMs right?
It's a shame the xbox version of that is the best cause it has the worst d-pad
>switch between US/Jap versions in-game
What's the difference? Sorry, never played the games. Does the 3DS have anything left out the others do have?
>super hyped for AC when it was first announced
>the very first thing is some shitty logo with a monkey in a spacesuit
>menus are a MM8 Mega Man with a fucked up walk cycle
>saving text appears in a babby's first photoshop box with a blue gradient applied
>somehow fucked up which button jumps and which button shoots with no way to change it
I played everything that collection had to offer but fuck me was it disappointing in how it presented itself.
any home console version sucks because of horrible input lag thanks to wireless controller and HDMI out.
Unless you don't care about making accurate moves on your playthroughs...
please do research its not a 1:1 port
it is an emulator that literally plays mega man roms poorly. you can play rom hacks on it on the steam version and certain nes games work on it with tons of glitches.
Even the PC version? I do care, I mostly want this for just ease of play. If it has less input lag it's a bonus.
They honestly could've (and should've) marketed the game as a Mega Man Challenge collection with the full games included as bonuses.
>1:1port
lol no
Yes. Mega Man 2 US has two difficulty settings. Some games have less slowdowns in Jap versions, and I believe one or two have slightly different level designs. Take a look at Mega Man wikia for more details regarding each version differences...
Thank God Capcom got their act together and did the MMX Collection themselves
If you play directly at your monitor with keyboard or wired controller you should be good. Input lag really makes a huge difference in these games.
Yeah. Like $15 is too much for 6 games and a few extras.
So basically, OP here
>I have never played a mega man before
>I'd prefer a portable version
>I understand this one isn't perfect
>I'd basically only be paying $5 for it
Is it good enough for a first time player?
More like six roms and an emulator lmao
What is intellectual property and copyright
Oh, absolutely. Even if you're the kind of person who thinks "hurr paying for ROMs", the included challenges make the price tag worth it, especially if that's all you're paying.
Go for it, man.
Go for it. It's the best Classic Mega Man has to offer.
Games are very hard though.
Is the challenge mode available offline? Do you need an amiibo?
if you want to play the classic mega man games on 3ds just play the eshop versions they run better
>Literally the same as ROMs right?
Pretty much. You can get most of that free online.
Oh, and if you've never played a Mega Man before, if you find yourself not liking the first game, give 2 a shot before you pass judgement. The first game is super janky compared to the rest of the series, and 2 is generally considered the best and really lays the groundwork for the rest of the classic series, although I personally prefer 3.
>no input lag
Now you're jesting.

offline, yes
you only need an amiibo for extra challenges specific to them. Not a big deal if you don't have an amiibo though, there are dozens of challenges unlockable without the need of amiibo.
Challenge mode is only offline on the 3DS, I think. The console and PC versions had leaderboards, but I don't think they're available on the 3DS for some reason.
Also you only need the Mega Man amiibo for like a handful of bonus challenges, but there's a ton already included with the game normally.
See
Fuck off shill.
2>4>5>6>3>1
That's my personal ranking but some may put 3 on top of the list. I don't like it that much.
If it has the Japanese games icluded, wouldn't it be twelve roms and not six?
u mad bro?
technically 6 games with dual localization options
Nah. I'm playing the megaman/rockman games for free. Feels good.
AS I LIVE
THERE IS NO EVIL THAT WILL STAND
except its not the fact your paying for roms its paying for roms that are emulated poorly and I mean so bad even casuals noticed things wrong.
Mega Man 5 runs like ass in the 3DS collection. It's like it constantly runs at 30 fps. It's not like it has additional slowdown, but it just looks choppy compared to the other five. It doesn't even make sense because Rockman 5, also included in the collection, works just fine. However, you're forced to use the MM versions of all the games for the challenges, and it's just jarring to go from the other games to MM5 in the middle of some challenges. The devs have already said there are not plans to fix the issue with MM5.
Just want to add that the manual scans are only for the JP manuals.
Are there any patches on 3DS? I don't really want to connect my 3DS to wifi
Not for this game.
>he doesn't have a New 3DS
I barely use the one I have
I never use mine but I still have one.
Honestly man I bought it just send a message to Capcom that people want Megaman.
