She's actually one the most fun now. The remake did her a huge favor.

She's pretty fun to use.

She's one of the more fun characters to use now.

They redid the entire combat engine. Almost everyone plays differently. To the point that people claim the game is too easy now.

The fuck was wrong with Mercedes? Yeah she wasn't that fun to play but she was pretty much just easy mode now Velvet she felt fucking awful to play in the original.

I just finished getting the last royal orb on normal, should I bother with New Game+ or classic mode?

It's alright. Extremely repetitive because you go to the same seven areas and fight the exact same bosses, enemies, and mid bosses over and over again. All the melee characters can be played nearly exactly the same too. On normal, there is no strategy involved and you can get through the entire game just mashing square without dodging or avoiding anything. On hard, enemies have a shit ton of health so it's not even fun.

Alchemy system is more or less ruined by the food system because there is no point making use of the various potions you can create when yogurt + food is so much more valuable for your character in the long run. You'll just be selling fucking everything and buying ingredients to make food with. It's a surprisingly poorly thought out system because of it.
