If you like "Metroidvania" style games you'll love it. The whole series is great but Pirate's Curse is by far the best (at least until HGH comes out)

Shantae reminds me of Wario Land in particular. Except you're a cute genie girl instead of a fat italian man.

It's incredibly fun, the soundtrack is amazing, the characters are charming as hell and the writing is extremely clever.

It's the best platformer I've played in years and you should give it a shot.
