Does anyone else use a tv for a monitor when playing games?
Does anyone else use a tv for a monitor when playing games?
Occasionally.
not pig disgusting 720p.
Yeah for the last six years. 1370x768 master race.
I use a TV as a monitor for everything
It used to be a desperate measure after my monitor died but now I can't go back
no, that's stupid
yeah, it's great. i don't know why people like monitors so much, they're small as heck.
although i can see why you would want higher that 60hz.
yes, i do. 32" TV right in front of me atm
why
I have a gaming pc connected as a console to a 50 inch Led
fully equipped; everything is wireless
All the time, except for any games that traditionally use or require mouse control or have a first-person view.
I don't want to play games like Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma on a small-ass monitor with headphones. How underwhelming would that be?
I've got friends over for a couple of days, so yeah, right now I've hooked my pc up to my tv. Just completed Resident Evil 1 playing on the tv, and we play sf5 too.
If you need to ask you should go back and play consoles.
Yeah got a 4K TV i use for Console oriented games, otherwise i use my monitor
I get a headache with 60hz displays and that blurry as shit soap opera effect ugh
Mostly I use projector, for superior ~3m diagonal floor to ceiling screen
You retards ever heard of input lag?
is this supposed to be an insult? so why? tell me
Fuck off pretentious cunt
delay on projectors is absolutely disgusting
Yes and no. Yes to when friends come over and no because my room is a bit bigger than a prison cell and having the computer and tv on at the same time raises the room temp 15 degrees.
Yes, sometimes I use my 4k 60inch gaming TV, but only in games that are gamepad controlled like DS3.
Lol
Jelly?
Yes, indeed I am right now.
What of your mummy and daddies telly?
not really.
Yes, for everything except multiplayer fps and strategy / buildan games
yes, yes i do
60" 1080p LG LED here
it also works really good for buildy games, like sim city or prison architect
gonna play some earthbound on it now
why two tiny screens?
I see the merrit of 50"+ TV for gaming, but not as a monitor replacement. It's ok for your console or when you plug your laptop in when you're comfy on your couch, but you can't sit closer than 2 meters away from it, otherwise it will look like a blurry mess. I haven't watched TV for ~6 years now so I don't even have one anymore.
Also fuck people who connect their 6th gen consoles like PS2 or Wii to a digital screen via analog and don't realise they add ~70ms latency for analog signal conversion. This applies to people who plug in VGA to their LCD monitors aswell, altough to a lesser extend.
>not having a top tier trinitron CRT tv in your livingroom for all your ps1 and ps2 purposes
its like wanting to be a pleb
Suprise he didnt throw his laptop or ipad into the pic like so many do in an attempt to have "all muh screens"
Did those other two come from the tip?
during gaming: for Skype/TS, yt, music
but main purpose is for working. it's so much better to do any work at pc with more workspace
well, could've added my laptop & my Samsung Tab4 :D
the right one was the first additional monitor i got for free, the left one i bought for around 10€. want to replace at least the right one to a monitor with better resolution
what kind of visual aid do you need for skype and TS ffs? plus the screens are too tiny.
dont wanna be a dick but I kinda have to call you a try hard faggot, and thats not counting in the SNES nintoddlery.
You mean schoolwork kiddy
>CRT
>TV
>60hz
>calls other plebs
>wasting 500+ bucks for it
Enjoy your screen flickering and VGA resolutions, I'll enjoy playing 160+ Hz on quadruple that resolution on my CRT monitor that was 10 bucks on a garage sale 5 years ago.
naah, not meant while calling.
i like to be "up to date" and i receive many skype messages. and just for that the right screen is right.
*university
I can smell the sweat and cum from here
>60hz
>PAL
came to say this...you guys must be playing cinematic games exclusively or be absolutely horrible to be ok with TV input lag
i haven't used my monitor in like 4 months
i don't miss sitting in an office chair at all
i do miss the quality of a monitor's single pixel width red lines (like text) that for some reason every god damn fucking tv no matter how much the cost fucks up
Yeah, for KBM games I use a standing desk + 1080p monitor and for gamepad games I sit on the couch and use my 2160p TV. I really need to upgrade my 7970GHZ to a card with HDMI 2.0 so I can enjoy 2160p60hz.
>spends a small fortune for your retro equipment
>gets PAL
How is it pretentious? You have to be fucking blind to not notice the difference mate.
No because I didn't do my research and my 60" 4k tv has input lag that's 3 days long. Only with PC tho, it's fine with consoles.
it's only like a 40ms difference
back when we had 56k, a competitive ping was 160ms
it's not a dealbreaker but it's by no means ideal either
Using a giant 30"+ tv is stupid if you're sitting 2 feet away from it at a desk.
Ideal screen size depends on the viewing distance. Your focus vision only covers about a 60° cone.
Too close and portions of the screen will be in your peripheral, too far and your room/furniture/etc. will be in your focus.
HDTV's typically have higher latency than PC monitors as well.
Yes but only because I don't have much money available and rather save for an upgrade for my PC
