Not really, I got no emotional response at akk because the baby wasn't really built up in a way that I gave a shit about it

Not when you remember that Samus is a dude with tits.

...

The campfire scene in chrono trigger followed by watching Lucca's mom get crippled.

Nigger you can stop getting her crippled.

No you can't, it's a cutscene

ruined by other m

no

You fucked up then nigga.

That one scene in ff6 where that swordmaster guy finds his family poisoned and dying

>finding anything in undertale emotional and not sappy/cheesy

The entire ending to Lufia II.

How does it feel to be LITERALLY retarded?

somehow I quoted you meant to quote

>those people in the comments that can't figure out how to enter the password
I was in fucking elementary school and did this properly

...

Can you explain what makes it emotional? I thought those headhuggers were evil

Literally L(button)A(button)R(button)A(button)

They're not evil, they're just animals with extremely destructive biology.
The big one, the Super Metroid, hatched around Samus and imprinted on her, thinking this was its parent.

...

It's not really emotional. It just has great music and it's a very unique setup for a boss battle even to this day.

>I have never played Cave Story

Suikoden 2's bad ending, the duel near the waterfall.

holy fuck.

Not even close.

>being unable to find sappy/cheesy shit emotional

Live a little, user.

seriously though, good luck finding an "emotional" scene in a video game that isn't stupid

Do you auto move to the location of the switch or do you need to find it yourself?

I never played it. Please explain.

Yeah Links Awakening was pretty emotional. I think the temple where you learn it is all a dream is more emotional than the bird ending though.

Yorda putting Ico in the boat and sending him off while she stays behind

oh my fucking god that ending
my nigger

it fucking depressed me so much, and the music was spot on, i remember tia scene crying
youtube.com/watch?v=COFDxNQyk24

oh god

oh god oh god oh god

Red moon red moon

Just play it. A simple explanation would just ruin it.

Is this bait?

You need to find the note that says what the password is and then you need to go to the room with the machine where the scene occurs.

Any attempt to explain the game will inevitable spoil parts of it.

Here's what the music sounds like, though.

Basically, the world ended, and you gotta bring it all back. All of it. You'll watch the planet go from a burning inferno with nothing on it, to birds and lions, to humans, to humans inventing airplanes, and beyond.

the baby (last) metroid that samus saved in another game saves Samus right before Mother brain is about to kill Samus.

It covers Mother Brain's head right after she charges her hyper beam and is about to shoot Samus, absorbing all of Mother Brain's energy. At this point mother brain is dryed up into a statue.

During this time, the Metroid flys over Samus and releases all it's the energy and gives it to Samus, as mother brain is slowly coming back to life. Just after the Metroid is done powering up Samus, it gets shot and killed by mother brain.

Now Samus is restored and ready to fight mother brain with her new powers.

One thing that makes this scene stronger is that on our way to this fight, we see all the creatures that the Metroid has fed off of to survive and grow into the huge size that it is

...

I never understood what was supposed to be emotional about this. Her suicide attempt sure. But this?

>That feel when you vanquished the evildoers
>That feel when they come back in phantom form, in a last ditch attempt to destroy your party and you
>That feel when your waifu is mortally wounded
>That feel when out of spite toward you, the big bad sets his floating fortress to crash into your waifu's city, where your family is
>That feel when you use the last of your power to break the crystals that make the fortress float, while this is playing
youtu.be/6gyiPK-8hko
>That feel when you are too weak to break the last crystal, and the ghost of your waifu appears in front of you and tells you to come with her to see your son
>That feel when using the Duel Sword and the last ounce of life force to break the last crystal, dying and rejoining your waifu in the afterlife

Yes.

It imprinted on you as its mother when it hatched and even when it was fully grown it remembered you and came to your defense even at the cost of its life.

RIP

these two games made me not want to fight

Oh sweet, summer child.

Winter is coming.

its really good play it

Hwo did anyone fall for this bait when you need to move through the house to get to the machine

I would have given a damn if not for the spoilers a year before I played it. I played it like two years ago.

It all still hurts

He's my dad.

You are basically a God, bringing back life to the surface world. That earth is a hollow earth, and you come from the hollow / darkness part. Finishing your mission means that the surface (the light) is vanquishing the darkness, and since your character was born from the darkness, he will disappear at the end.

Fuck gotta replay that shit. It's still among my favourite games.

I never played the game

reeee

Oh lord

youtube.com/watch?v=oMQARNxOQ10

My best friend drank himself to death.

terranigma is, and always will be, a very low quality soulblader

the 5 games in the actraiser series are roughly

soulblader>actraiser>>illusionofgaia>>>>terranigma >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>actraiser2

I don't consider this opinion to be revolutionary or even particularly interesting

I can just never figure out why anyone likes fucking terranigma so much. its just so boring, slow, ugly, and weak compared to the rest of the series

I suspect it's the same endless resonation of faggots who like games like planescape or la mulana, they have no experience at all, so they just slobber out the same 'good' games endlessly, and this will continue until they die because they're too lazy to try new stuff, especially 'old' new stuff

this boss "fight" ruined this game for me

>actraiser2
Where did it go so wrong?

Hmm... soul blader... nope, haven't heard of it

Is this the most emotional scene from a kino-based kino?

>soulblader
It's Soul Blazer, user kun

Speaking of soulblader

I like the mechanics and style of terranigma over illusion of gaia and soul blazer. both of those control and look like shit and they have shit music. they both aren't as involved in the world as terranigma is

Not him but it's known as Soul Blader in Japan.

>Her suicide attempt sure.
>failing to save Cid

>this
>not dull

This. No other video game has ever made me cry besides this one.

That part was pretty cool as a little extra touch to the game. But when it prompts you to huge, by that point I had been so conditioned to just give characters all the affection they crave for the best ending, that I only hugged him out of obligation to complete the game. In a weird way, that moment is like the inverse to the idea that chara is only killing to get everything out of the game. As I'm only loving to get everything out of the game.

It's not emotional. Its a clever use for a SNES game but its just about as emotional as emotional as people claim Mother 3 is when its nothing more than just a bunch of random bullshit.

Is Chrono Trigger worth emulating on DeSmuME?

There's discussion about that in the lore.

The super metroid is noticable in that it does not seem to grow through the metroid life cycle like the others shown in Metroid 2. Instead, it simply grows to a massive size.

It is suggested that perhaps this is either because it is not the Metroid's native environment (which would explain the appearance of the Omega Metroid in Fusion and the Queen Metroid in Other M considering those environments were simulations of SR338), or that it simply didn't have enough time to grow into another form.

Another theory is that the baby metroid was scared, terrified even - having been taken from it's (imprinted) mother and experimented on, it broke free of it's bonds and went on a killing spree.

This would explain why the Super Metroid initially attacks Samus, only recognising shortly after who it was attempting to absorb.

The Super Metroid did not only sacrifice itself to save YOU, the PLAYER, but it do so as an act of loyalty.

It's pretty good. FFVI's opera scene, Earthbound's ending, and Shovel Knight's dream sequences are other good examples.

>DeSmuME
Why are you playing the DS version? It adds nothing good.

It didn't get a little touch-me-up in the graphical department?

Nope, just reformatted the aspect ratios for the DS and added a map gimmick for the second screen.

SNES will always be the definitive version.

If you think Terranigma is slow, then you have never played the version of the rom with the fixed region.

Terranigma is an PAL rom. Which, when put on a standard emulator, is going to run slower than intended. You need to get a patched version of the rom that makes it NTSC compatible. That will allow it to play at it's intended speed, which is faster than you're familiar with.

Alright, sweet. Is ZNES still the best emulator for SNES?

It got a FMV addition, an annoying post game dungeon, and a monster pet arena.

BSNES/Higan if you can afford to run it

SNES9X otherwise.

Obnoxiously bad bait.
Naruto yourself.

>That moment when you get to the Shrine of Daos and this plays just like in the first Lufia

youtube.com/watch?v=WkwHKKWpoaE

this game fucks me up

Great! Thanks for the help.

ZSNES has only been the best for netplay and that still hasn't changed.
If you're not doing netplay, using pretty much any other emulator will be better.

E B A! E B A!
It gets better when you realize that the last two stages are an allegory for Western music subverting and defeating communism

>bothering to save that nerd

Nope

Oh please.

god damn mine was like 4 years ago i had a mild freak out for a second

im glad to see the terranigma love in this thread but it's not that often you see it as a reminder of a past relationship so i kind of froze in front of my screen

the world is weird

This took me the longest time on the easiest difficulty for some reason, then seemed to get easier the higer the difficulty, untill the cheerleaders because its just not fucking difficult :/

Also:
>no EBA HD remake for 3DS/Wii u
Missed opportunity...

Something got in my eye at that part, I sewar

Yeah. She wanted me to play it so I did, but we broke up. I never got to see the very end myself.

I read through the whole game voicing Yomi in Ebonics. Of course, I was an idiot and shit that whole thing up.

its a DS

nice blog post
