I never played ac5, bit I heard 4 and 5 split the player base

4 was floaty as fuck, pretty sure Miyazaki was heavily involved with it, way too quick and fly-y.

5 was more like 3 but infinite boosters, which was dumb and meant you had no reason to have them off and you could bounce off buildings to gain height and that was it.

3 is still personally my favourite, they felt clunky yet agile enough.

They're all good games, but they each have some issues, and play very differently from echother.

Give them credit, at least they didn't rehash the same mechanics.

To be fair though they're all fun in their own way, which is quite nice. It was certainly way less repetitive than souls going from the different numbered iterations. At least they actually changed.

Been playing through AC2 again. The lack of thumb stick use is painful. Whoever decided to put camera up and down on L2 and R2 should probably be shot.

For Answer still has my favourite sound track of the series. 5 and VD were probably the worst.

I'm pretty sure it's heavily implied that the NEXT at the end of VD is actually White Glint rebuilt. Trailer footage seemed to show it being dug up if I remember rightly. So yeah I imagine it is.

Why the PSP version? Just do the PS2 versions. They ran fine in PCSX2. Even LR in software mode.

Frame rate would be too consistent. From Soft couldn't handle that.

Seriously though there's one mission in FA where the frame rate tanks to sub 10, pretty sure it was defending an orbital something or other facility on one of the alt endings.

Project Nimbus has pretty much taken over my free time, but you should check out the the mechwarrior franchise, also mech commander if you don't mind a bit of strategy.

Armored Core: Master of Arena. Has a campaign as well as a full on 1v1 mech arena ranking system which is pretty fun.

There are even fan translations for games like.... Tales of Vesperia, but instead you get on twitter and port beg. I grew up with AC and played all of them until ac2. I wouldn't recommend them in 2016 as the controls are archaic; check out pretty much any AC game at/after last Raven, which (iirc) is when they began the 'strafing and camera relegated to analog sticks instead of shoulder buttons' + customizable controls config
