Im trying to play Castlevania SOTN with PSX, but no matter what I try in the aspect ratio settings, it keeps fucking stretching the image to fit my 1600x900 screen when I go fullscreen.

Any advice?

Tried to emulate Yakuza with pcsx2 but the sound is all fucked. Same with Drakengard. Actually I get sound problems with a lot of emulated games on a lot of different emulators. I have no idea why or how to fix it.

I genuinely had a dream that a new PCSX2 release fixed Ratchet & Clank games.

I was sad when I woke up.

Dolphin 5.0 says it's missing api-ms-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll. I've had this stupid kind of error before but I can't remember how I fixed it.

Installing Runtime C++ doesn't work because Dolphin automatically did that when it installed.

Blood Omen was fucking stellar.

Currently playing The Thousand Year Door. I let one of my friends borrow this game like 6 years ago and the fucker "lost" it.

I ended up just doing the OSD mod on my PS2 hard drive and buying an N64 flash cart I give up on this shit.

I am trying to play a patched version of SoTN (Japanese audio, English text). The image i'm using works fine on ePSXE. However I can't get it to run on Mednafen.

Can mednafen even play custom roms? or is it strict with compatibility? Castlevania is primarily 2D, so i would like to play that on Mednafen with CRT-Hylian filter.

Do you have the cue file?

I have a .cue file, but the main contents (Track 1) are in a 7zip file rather than an ISO. I'm wondering if that's the issue.

Hmm... I think i might have found a solution... so I extracted the 7z and it contained a .ecm file. Turns out that can be decompressed further into a .bin

Huh? what do you know, i got it to work..

Had to convert the .ecm and .ape files to bin using separate programs for each, and viola! I have to say, right off the bat the colours are nicer on mednafen compared to what i was getting using Pete'sopengl2 on epsxe... but that might just be me imagining things

Anybody got any good ROMhacks/Mods that I can play on an emulator. Please no Pokemon suggestions. I already played all of the worthwhile ones.

What controller do you recommend for emulating on a smartphone?

I'm trying to play MMBN2, but it irks me that I can't use the mega buster/charge attacks and delayed responses are making the game a bother to play.

I'm emulating Monster Ranch 4 with ePSX2.
It's kinda shit

First time playing this guys, only ever played the first one when I was a kid.

Its pretty challenging but great so far. I just reached the outer wall save room.

There is backtracking in this right? I feel like missing out on lots of shit when I'm not exploring every single path.

you will be doing a lot of backtracking in the latter part of the game. Also, when you beat the game, consider that you have not beaten the game... not yet.

trying to play mother 3 on vba-m but combo system is really hard, anyone got any tips? i already put no frameskip. Should I just use a cheat so I hit 8 combo every turn? Or wait (maybe forever) for a vc release?

I already looked up the spell commands, but they don't seem to be working. Do you have to input it very fast?

Maybe I need a special item to cast spells or something?

Next time go to /emugen/ on /vg/, but let's keep that one until it dies out.

you can cast spells with alucard from the start of the game. no special items required. you input the command the same way you do in fighting games if you play those. you don;t need to be fast. just be sure to press one after the other without mashing.

doesn't matter as any is fine, also, some motion inputs in SoTN are HARD because of how the game registers them, take it from someone who has played fighting games all his life, there's no easy way past that, just practice

Alright I've gotten the hang of most of them now.

I didn't realize I had to SMEAR my thumb across the directional pad to make them work.

I can't seem to get the Wolf Form spell to work though. When I'm in wolf form he just barks when I press the attack button. What am I doing wrong?
