Well it's part of the source material for this anime we are discussing, so yes, he should play it for the full effect of the show. And you don't know if that last sentence is true yet. I bet a week ago you would have said it isn't important to know what happened at all.

I feel like the only person who liked UDG, it just ran long at the end but it made me like toko and some parts of it were neat.

Take some idiot who watched the DR anime instead of playing the VN. They're obviously a retarded secondary who would have nothing worthwhile to say about the story as they've only had the bare minimum of the story given to them in a shit adaptation.
The idea of a secondary is perfectly reasonable and applicable in many cases but in this instance the idea is being incorrectly used given that playing the game on the Vita or the PC means nothing to anyone outside of console warriors.

Probably because the despair arc wouldn't work as a game and both arcs share characters. It works well with them airing together.
