What are your thoughts on this game?
I just finished it and thought it was pretty good.

I dropped it during the first action part of the submarine-scooter mission. How far was I from the end?

Cool, I thought it was pretty good too.
I wanted to drop it there, but kept going. You were about halfway, a little more than halfway actually.

There's a lot of little weird sections to the game like that, with awful pacing. Scooter section, long dialogue and no action mission later on, just really bizarre stuff. I don't know why they bothered to do it.

Still a good game, but definitely has weak sections.

>Nazi killing is always good wholesome fun
>great gameplay, fantastic marriage of older mechanics left to the wayside by most modern shooters and modern refinements, maps and weapons are expediently designed
>great voicework
>characters feel genuine, like tired souls spent fighting a war they've made no progress in and just exhausted by it all
>Brian Bloom is perfect as Beej

Honestly, between this and Doom, I'd almost be optimistic for the future of single player shooters.

Loved it, think it's one of the better new age shooters out. It may be too story heavy for some people, but i prefer that.

Maybe I'll give it another shot, then. Also I had some really weird technical issues with it while I was able to max out D44m at 60+ fps...

It's fun as fuck. Beat it on the hardest difficulty or else you're a fucking pussy

the missions that put you through the abandoned parts of the resistance base were kinda weak to me but i thought they paid off well in that they made you see the space of the headquarters differently

I agree, although I haven't played the new Doom.
I like it because Wolfenstein is probably the only classic shooter that works well with a story.
I had a lot of technical issues getting it to work as well, but once I did I really enjoyed it.
I will be doing that sometime soon.
I hated those and just wanted to get on with the story.

I just played it a few months ago and loved it. Agree with other posts that the pacing can be off and now that I've 100% the game I don't know if I'll be going back (normally I replay damn near everything) but I had a blast.

I own The Old Blood and haven't started it yet. Too soon after the main campaign I think.

On the topic of pleasant surprises, I finally picked this up and it's really fucking good. I know it's BamHam meets AssCreed but the Wraith and Nemesis stuff keeps it feeling unique. The only thing that sucks is the story -- literally couldn't give less of a shit about any of the characters.

should i get this or the new limbo game kek i really dont feel like trudging through forced heavy narrative/story in a goddamn shooter

Hot garbage.
The perfect example of how modernizing ruins games.

Here's how Wolfenstein and DOOM are supposed to work:
>Run
>Shoot
>Run to cover and shoot some more
>Fuck enemies everywhere shoot faster
>Fuck low on ammo RUN
>Oh god low health im gonna die AAA SHOOT EVERYTHING
>FUCKING RUN

Non-stop adrenaline slam jam clusterfuck.

But now, every shooter, EVERY SHOOTER now plays like Bioshock.
>Cutscene
>Story
>Dialog
>Go here! *MARKER*
>Dialog Dialog
>SHOOT THAT THING
>Now go in here! *MARKER*
>Oh no all the doors have sealed and enemies are appearing from nowhere!
>Kill all the badguys in this room!
>Okay badguys are gone, doors are open again!

The new DOOM is BARELY bearable because it doesn't shove it's shit down your throat, but the
>WALK FOR 5 MINUTES
>ENTER ROOM
>DOORS LOCK
>KILL BADGUYS
>DOORS OPEN
>REPEAT
Is just as bad as any other fucking game.

If you like this game, or any other modern shooter pretending to "go back to the roots", you are literally the cancer killing gaming.

why would you even ask the question then?

You sound like an old parent that talks about how shit today's music is, and how back in your day people were actually talented.

Things change grandpa, adapt or get left behind.

How does Shadow Warrior compare to this?

And then indie shooters come along and do everything old doom did and nobody cares because 'indieshit is bad'

Doom is bearable because of the enemy design. Between group tactics, the amount of melee and the lack of hitscan it forces you to at least be mobile in the little arena youre trapped fighting in. On high difficulty games like wolfenstein punish you for not huddling in a corner and peek firing everything in the room the whole fight.

But today's music is shit, and people today aren't talented. Nobody has to know how to sing because of autotune, and nobody has know how to play an instrument because of studio effects.

Things do change, but rarely if ever for the better. I'm genuinely happy for you that modern media has dulled your tastebuds to the point that you can eat shit happily, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

You can spout that all you want, but there's nobody more worthless than a person that can't adapt.

You can appreciate the days of old and still be open minded enough to understand that things change, and that there is good among everything that's shit, just like "back in the day"

You are 16 and think you know everything there is to know about popular media.

how is modern music bad at all? youre retarded my guy

Berlin Boys and Stuttgart Girls best album in the game.

The game's alright but extremely overrated.

The level design is kinda bland. At its worst, the game devolves into corridor shooting layouts comparable to what you might find in a COD campaign and its best, it's just okay.

The game becomes a cover shooter on the higher difficulties and even at certain points in the game at lower difficulties. The game doesn't provide any method of staying alive in a battle without ducking behind cover; Blazkowicz melts far too quickly for any pickups to be useful in the thick of a fight. Their attempt to remedy this was to add a cover system? In an fps?

Dual-wielding felt like an afterthought - t'was meh.

I understand that things change, and I can always find something to enjoy, but the repackaging of something good into something shit to meet current popularity and money making standards has always been, and will always be, a disgusting practice. Look at the VW bug, when it was first created it was a symbol of free love. But then the children who were concieved in the backs of them grew up to repackage and resell the concept to soccer moms and hipster douchebags for an easy buck. I accept how horrible it is, it doesn't mean I have to go along with it.

I'm 32, and "popular" media has always sucked, even when music took talent the top hits were still drivel.

Don't you think it's a little convenient that every person who is supposedly good at music also happens to be gorgeously attractive? Music has been a scam for a decade or more, open your eyes and ears, the radio is just catchy bullshit without any meaning or talent behind it. It's been made increasingly difficult to find real talent so people are forced to gobble up the trash music corporations shit out every year. I'm glad you're able to enjoy it but I feel sorry you'll never understand.

>hasn't played genocide simulator 2016
do yourself a favor and get it now

This is exactly how I feel also. While I do like generic FPS games and I like both these games, they're nothing like the older ones.

My favorite fps is the dook, I really miss it.

hated it
modern shooter/10
Doom was really fucking mediocre too after all the praise it got...

I thought it was okay because of
>the guns didn't handle how I imagined them
>Wasn't big fan of the story
>SO many enemies were bullet sponges and the game doesn't give you enough ammo to take them out sometimes
